This weekend drove from San Diego, Freer, Encinal, Caterina, Carrizo Springs on to the Casino in Eagle Pass. There were some Rig welders south of Caterina adding on to a compressor station. There is a lot more oil field traffic from drilling rig moves to service trucks and sand trucks. Word is beginning next year work will kick off again.

I'm a new apprentice welder with an ironworker union, spent two years to get too the starting line lol, college then working as a labourer to get actual work experience then finally got accepted by the ironworkers a month ago... watching ur vids only makes me realize how much I want to do what your doing an how rough times don't last been watching your journey for awhile! keep it up man i love the blucollar merch btw

I’m an assistant instructor at the junior college here in town, I have summer off. If you need an assistant holler at me, I’m free all summer. I’m 5’10” and 254, I use 2XT shirts
Both shirts looks good - just for FYI about welding jobs - H& S constructors and bay ltd in Corpus Christi should be hiring January2, 2022 or sooner , JoB should start on January 23,2022 for a turnaround at Valero refinery Corpus Christi texas should be 1 month long maybe. More weeks - Bay ltd should pay welder per diem $100 , but I’m not 100 % also H & S constructors should pay per diem $100 , they some times change there pay rate or per diem pay, but mostly likely king turnaround per diem is paid -

@@andreag.2269 same here recent welding school graduate TIG and stick and I’m still unemployed no one seems to be ready or wanting a recent welding school graduate most companies want mig welders with experience, strike company was looking for mig welders in Corpus Christi for shop pay $20 a hour kinda low buts it’s a job also I never welded wire mig no I don’t qualify I emailed the company and they won’t hire me not looking for stick or TIG welding school graduate, only I advice is accept a welder helper job and make sure you tell your employer and foreman you can weld and want to weld but you be a helper for them , give them a heads so they can give you a chance if there a welder needed that have you or see what you can do , also maybe plan to learn MIG also wire welding people say it’s but it ain’t easy if you don’t have the welder time and materials to practice, be a combo welder get well rounds on various machines and material, TIG , mig, stick , torch and plasma cutter , metals : stainless, carbon steel, chrome if possible , leather and try to stay practicing , accept a welder helper job and learn mig and more , my only advice because these companies want talent and more experience-
Just an idea but possibly reach out to some local industrial type of companies (manufacturing or construction) and possibly offer a partnership with them. You train and certify their entry level welders for them to start out!
ive been welding since 2018 at northwest side of houston at shop jobs and all they pay is 14-18 and hour i really thought welding paid like 20+and hour is all mig and flux core tho but i really want to learn tig welding

If your High School offers welding, take the classes you can. Some schools offer dual enrollment classes that you can take at a community college.
