Thanks for the video , I have an issue with my Avital alarm it’s model 5103 and I don’t know if I have to program it but I was testing it and let’s say if someone breaks into my car the alarm goes off but I can still turn the car on and put it into drive , so you know if I have program it , so it doesn’t let the car turn on if the alarm goes off ???
Thank You, The instructions that come with the fob are realistically unuseful. There’s no talk of a program button just turn the key on and push the fob within 10 seconds little blank wants and then hold button till it constantly blinks. No joy on mini attempts. I bought a used 4runner that has an avital remote start system. Remote just has one button. Now I know there is a hidden button somewhere to take out of garage mode. Thanks!
Hello, every once and a while my remote start stops working and when I lock it, it beeps twice. It beeps once than a couple seconds later it beeps again. I have to keep taking it to a place far away from me and they fix it right away. Do you think this will fix it the next time. Also my parking lights weren’t programmed to flash when I lock or unlock. How do I know if it goes into garage mode? Thank you so much.
It all depends on the car if the lights will flash. My Cadillac lights only flash when its dark out because it has a light sensor that only turns on the lights when its dark out. This is factory and there is no way to get them to work in the day time. On your car It might not ever be hooked up. I would try when it stops working. I would also get the manual for the auto start and read it. I know half the time they never give you one But it tells you how to set up the functions.

Hi there! Thanks for your video. This makes it seem very easy to fix on my own. The only problem I am having is I can't find the button. Everything in the fuse compartment seems to be zip tied together and I can't seem to locate it. There is a black rectangular box above my brake pedal and I'm assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that this is part of the command start as well. Do you happen to know if the button and wire start from there? I probably should have done this before we got hit with a winter storm! Cheers from Winnipeg, Canada 🇨🇦
Or (like me) it’ll take you half a day+ to find the control box and ultimately determine that there SHOULD be a valet button plugged into that empty blue 2-pronged 1/4” socket

So I've got the remote start working perfectly I've used a 451 relay for the door locks spliced them in my unlock switch has always worked on my passenger side but neither switch on my driver works. I click the buttons on the remote and can hear the relay click but nothing happens would this be because my master switch is not working properly? The passenger door unlock still works spliced in the relay
I have a question everyone! 96 Chevy motor was rebuilt and ever since then the remote start hasn't worked properly. When I press the remote start button, the motor cranks but won't fully turn over. I've gotten it to work once, but now it just cranks and won't fully turn over.
Thanks G - I have the same alarm system. When i press the center button it goes to start and then stops itself after cranking for about 1.5 seconds. Any ideas? I just bought the car and it had one of these installed. I see a switch and a button under the dash.
I know this is old video but I have a question. I have one of these on my 97 k3500 cclb and it was on there when I bought it and has worked great till today and it wont start it, lock or unlock, and no lights flashing but the park lights never flashed locking or unlocking thought. Bought the truck in 2020.
@@TheGAutomotiveAndMore Strangest thing I got home and tried my second fob and it worked and then tried mine again and it now works. My fob has a new battery but it could be bad I guess but the light on the fob did light up every time. So I'm stumped.
i have a avital 4100 system and cant find the button your referring to. I found the main box but dont see anything coming out of the box that looks like that black wire with a button

Sooo. I used mine daily. Last week I used it to start the car, went to the store. Came out the store 30 mins later and nothing on the key fob works. Put new battery in fob, still doesn't work. Found the reset/program switch. Pushed that, still nothing happened. Tried to do the simultaneous press to reprogram nothing happened. It's as if the receiver box on the car died. Any diagnostic suggestions?? It sucks this happening right at the start of winter

We got this professional installed and once now try to start with key in the ignition. Doesn’t start at all and got a code for crankshaft sensor. Replaced that and still doesn’t start. They replaced fuel pump and one spark plug. Still doesn’t start… I bet it’s the remote starter

Look for the box that controls the system. Under dash, usually jammed up in there with a lot of wires. The button will be running out of there.

That is very possible because the power goes threw the window switch.

The tachometer wire might be not hooked up under the hood.

Start with the fuses. There should be one by the battery and some more under the dash near the Remote starter box.

Its tucked away in the mess some where. It has a 2 foot cable on it. Some people do mount it under dash. Thanks for watching

There are fuses and there should be a under the hood switch. I would start here. If not, you are going to take it somewhere to have it look at.

What if you don't have a programming button
It should have one.
I have the same thing on my tundra .... just can't find the stupid little button you found. Ugh!
Find the control box and search for there. It should be 2 black wires that are connected together like speaker wire is.

Goggle it and there is something about a relearn. It could not be reading the tack signal.
