In all honesty hicky really is the most down to earth champion in the sport , he could choose to be such a big headed person considering hes the fastest to EVER go round the TT, but hes so chill and genuine in every interview. Top geezer
Listening to many of his interviews. He understands fans pull corporate sponsorship and that sponsorship allows him to ride a motorcycle. He has it boiled down to that philosophy and embraces it. More riders should take note.
I had the pleasure of working with Hicky right at the start of his career in BSB & he hasn't changed one bit always a laid back & a friendly lad to speak to. I was at the first official BSB test in April 2006 & it was my first time working at a race meeting & his riding as a superbike rider for Hawk Kawasaki. I remember a very young looking hicky along with his dad coming to our service truck to collect his Arai race helmet complete in kawasaki racing green colours along with an L plate painted on the back of it eager to get out on that green missile lol. If my memory serves me correct the meeting was abandoned the next day as overnight it snowed heavily & left the track white over the next morning. Good memories Hicky lad you've certainly come a long way since then 👍
What a brilliant interview. Massive respect for Hickman. Also, not just racetracks, but also small airfields. There are a lot of wrong-uns in this country that think they can tell other people how to live their lives, but people are not like this in Spain, Portugal, etc. Why is that?
Brilliant! I now understand better why Peter Hickman is so well liked and admired in the UK. Loved the interview. PS I'm an Australian on my way to the 2024 IOM TT. Can't wait to see Peter in action.
02:00 yes, I have to agree here. Bad drivers really get to me, because I class it as either them being rude, ignorant or incompetent. Most often it's the latter, but on occasion it's the former two. But on the road, there's really no tolerance for any of these bad traits. The only way I've learned to deal with it is to have make allowances (i.e., bite my tongue). I'd love a system whereby drivers could do some advanced training and get some benefits (to incentivise them) like cheaper insurance premiums, no speed restrictions on motorways, maybe tax credits off their fuel bills, and so on. Something should be done to improve the quality of driving. This would do far more to reduce accidents, most of which happen due to lack of concentration, not speed, etc.
I'm in luv with bikes! I know exactly what you mean! No other item or person has brought me such satisfaction in my lifetime. I sure do miss my TZ750. Biggest mistake in my lifetime was selling that bike. So glad I got to race two strokes back in the day before all the electronics were in place to save my ass. Feel sorry for future generations that didn't get a chance to experience real motorcycles. The electric bikes suck. No gears no smell and sounding like a beard trimmer.
He's a brilliant rd racer but he just explained about his braking and that's where he's loosing out in bsb such a shame he can't overcome it he would be up tne front ,I remember watching him on the iom on his first tt race I think he finished 12th and I knew then he would be the boy of the island
They asked,,,, Who is your hero??you said Valle, mine too, until i see you,my dream is too ride i,o,m ,,nw and so,well got stuck as a hobbyracer with too little money, than i turn 50,so i could never try i.o.m,no i am some over 60,love bikes, fast ridin, and wonder about have a mid zize classic bike,,Hey,i wish you,all the best,at the TT Peter,,know you,ll gonna do it again,,,Goodspeed 24

Peter and John are the two most down to earth, funny and cool characters out there.
Not surprised that he picked Rossi as a riding partner..

Nice one, peter, but ask him to stop saying absolutely good luck at this year's tt I'll be there supporting you 👍 😀
I'm with Peter, we have had load of tracks close in Australia for that reason - crazy that councils let it happen
Moving next to a circuit and complaining about noise
😂 amen

So right about the rule to change
Top Man Hicky.
Love Peter hopefully he will reach the top 5 in BSB soon mis him in the top 👍 a bit more speed for both FHO's would be nice.
Im sure Rossi is a big fan of this guy too
gees i would move next to a track if i could
Why does the interviewer keep saying “absolutely . That spoiled a good interview.
You're absolutely right. Thanks for watching

Who is the guy doing the interview?
That would be me...! Thanks for watching, Dan MCN.
@@Miss_Emmathanks superb insights
Peter i have a zx10r 2005 maybe we can swap for your bmw hahaha
The interview was to LOUD, I am complaining to RUclips.... really... after a rip down the road on my Triumph.
The farting type noise they make is so nice , so thumpy and dark and bassy
What an answer yes buy a house next to a race track and complain about noise. What every track day rider says
Great to hear from the man. But what a poor interview. Stupid questions and underwhelming all 'round.
