Sweet home. Ah I remember that much energy to get a weeks moose home done. Loved it. I now hunt out of my house. But definitely not the same. But older we get less we feel like taking a day to set up and dismantle.
Looks like a hoot! I'm in Texas, no moose here! Something I'd like to try one day. Hunted for about 35 years.. elk mule deer whitetail in Texas. Looks like fun had by all!!
Been moose hunting for 35 years ,mostly river hunting . The days started out with a road hunt ( it’s dam cold on the river in a open boat) After a good breakfast we would hit the river till dark. The one thing I learned over the years was my hunting buddy loved to shoot grouse,I admit I shot a few too ,we would only hunt them when road hunting and didn’t see very many moose. So thinking about it we stopped shooting grouse until we were tag out. It did make sense to make that much noise for a grouse and have a moose alerted down the way. We had better success on the roads after that but still pulled the majority of moose from the river and sloughs. We found are honey holes for grouse and looked forward to putting a few in the cooler after the meat was on the meatpole
They should be doing selective cutting, they also stray in our area while we were huntin g and we got on the phone call ministry of lan ds and forest and they immediately stop the straying, further more in our area they re-planted red pine and w hite pine n ot good for the big game animal since these pine's stop the growth of the hardwood from growing, the government doing a piss poor job of forestry in Ontario, plus we had to get them back into the bush cause their were oil can's left all over plus oil spills obviously the ministry had not come and check this place. This was area 42
The government us doing the same thing here in new Brunswick and its destroying the deer population when there is no feed the deer die off and the rivers for the fish also its killing all the fish
