Let's settle things here:
In terms of camera/photos, the two go hand in hand, but I've noticed that the S20fe's selfie is quite "yellowish", the A53's is better in this regard. In cameras/video, the S20fe stands out mainly for its more advanced stabilization and higher resolution, something that can be implemented with a possible update. Now if there is a point that the A53 5G wins is in battery, the biggest weakness of the S20fe, in addition to heating reasonably, the version with Snapdragon not so much. In terms of the screen both are of great quality, the A53 5G has a greater protection to come with Gorilla Glass 5 vs Gorilla Glass 3 of the S20 fe, but this is a small detail, both would please everyone. I would say that already a technical tie, pros and cons in both, depends a lot on the user's profile and what he prioritizes most in a smartphone.

I agree a53 wins in terms of battery but saying s20fe has big battery issues is just nonsense since I'm easilly getting around 8hours sot

Nope, apparently Samsung stopped supporting the mp3 o mp4 media files on the music app sadly. I'm using VLC app, it works well sadly not as well as Samsung music as widget but sth is better than nothing. Thanks for watching and stay safe.

No doubt that even the S20 FE 4G is the better buy. You can find it at the same price or even cheaper than the A53 5G. Great comparison again!!

'couse now it's 430 in Europe (The S20fe) and 350 is the A53 5g both are 128/6 gb versions
I'd rather pay the extra 80 for the S20FE. If you buy it from Amazon renewed you can probably find it for even under 300.
s20 fe just wins in processor and video quality, a53 battery, software updates, other things are mostly a tie, s20 fe is more expensive in most of the countrys, so i'd say that the decision goes in each person needs.
Alexi, I agree about plastic back being more durable. I owned the Snapdragon version of the S20FE and to date, it's performance has been great. Battery life has been good too. The sad thing is that Android 13 is the last it will get, then a further years of quarterly security patches. I like there are 3 proper cameras on the S20FE, especially telephoto lens. A year ago when this video was made, I would either go for the S20FE at a cheap price, or even get a S21FE which three more years of updates. The A53 has too much things missing that the S20FE has. Year later, I now own the S23 Ultra, so basically an upgrade.

S20 fe is still a good phone mine was the 8gb 256gb snapdragon and had no troubles. I traded it in for the s22 ultra. Then bought the A53 as a second phone which I find to be very good for the price I paid.

I think it's worth it. Yes, I think Android 13 is its last OS update but it will get one more year of monthly security patches and then quarterly. It's a great phone with at least microSD card. If money It's not an issue and you don't care about the Microsd card and you are concerned about OS updates then go for the S21 FE. Thanks for watching and stay safe.

Here in Brazil the A53 is arround 2000 reais (Arround 380 dollars when converted), and the S20 FE is arround 2200 reais (420 dollars), do you think that the higher price of the S20 FE justifies this difference for a casual gamer, and a guy who prioritizes videos?

Hiii, Thanks for the great videos!! But here in argentina there is a great difference in price... ($116.000 A53 vs $174.000 S20 , would be aprox 150 dollars) my question is... is it worth to make the effort ? is THAT difference in quality between them ?

However, bear in mind that the S20 FE will get Android 13 and at least 2 more years of security patches which is what I'm more interested about but it depends on your personal needs. Stay safe.

@@qud3913 I am not here to list out the differences between 11 and 13, os updates are not just meant for visual appeal but to get rid of existing bugs and errors. No matter how advance a hardware is, unless the software is optimised and bug free it's a waste. If only the android os were similar in features than previous generation, companies wouldn't have given even a single update in the first place, let alone 3 or 4 year updates.

I prefer it because in 2022 I did pay 170$ (9500 pesos in Philippines) it was not really used with the screen sticker. For that price nothing beats it. Recently I went to Samsung store and compared it with other models and I understood I dont want any other Samsung. S23u is tempting, but I'll just wait 2-3 years til the price drops. :P

I've been in this situation, and I bought S20 FE over A53, here's my personal review for long term usage :
-Ufs 3.1, even though it loses 3 android updates, this memory keeps the phone run faster than phones with ufs 2.1 or below, and usually android upgrades affect performance over time, so it doesn't really matter.
-Snapdragon 865 flagship always ahead even if it's outdated, can overcome midrange series till next 3-4 years
-Flagship grade camera with F/R 4k60 recording, with better photo results, because A series has no major upgrades other than OIS, and A53's macro + depth camera is generally useless
-IP68 has better protection than IP67
-Better speakers 384kHz AKG
-Samsung DeX Support
-Usb Type C v3.2 (vs A53 v2.0)
-Premium bezels (aluminium vs plastic)
So it's really worth it to trade so many things against A53's 5G, android updates and battery cap.
