it's actually a very simple and normal bassline. It's ok. So many bass players nowdays are just either lazy or repressed by their coward band members to play generic and boring notes that fully correspond to the chord that's being represented, instead of deviating a bit to complement it. At the end of the day, just to make the bass unhearable anyway. So bad
My brother met him at his university and i only knew of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai at the time but as soon as i heard this i fell in love. My brother is very lucky to have met him and listen to him perform and teach him tips on guitar. May sound bias but my brother is ace and learned flying in a blue dream by Satriani and smashed it

Absolutely incredible! I mostly listen to metal and discovered Guthrie through his online lessons. He's completely blowing my mind with what is possible on guitar.
I’ve watched this close to a thousand times and only now realising Marco Minnemann is playing the drums... This has to be the most underrated trio ever.

They're all good technicians but the composition is actually boring as fuck. You compare this with, I don't know, Sunshine Electric Raindrops by Steve Vai and there is literally no comparison. Also, the dry sound makes it sound really empty and emotionless, furthermore, the over-improvisations served up the song as a big plate of mushy peas. Summary: It sounded much better on the album.
Something you will never hear "Did you see that Gothrie Goven Tribute Band ?" 'cause nobody else can play like this.
So true hhahahah

Bassist is amazing. Drummer is perfect player. Guthrie is God. Best band on the earth.
Marco Minneman. He’s Paul Gilbert’s drummer
@@paddytguitar ex necrophagist drummer tho.
That's Brian Beller on the big guitar, right? I only know him through Dethklok, but he is a damn fine bassman.
That bassline though...

Govan has such a solid backing band
It's not a backing band, it's a supergroup called the aristocrats. They sometimes perform their solo material
If anyone has ever "solved" the electric guitar and wrung out everything it can possibly give, it is Guthrie Govan
The fun thing is he's to this day still finding new things, like his solo on Hans Zimmer concert in paris this year
This is the smoothest thing on the entire universe.
smoother than the surface of a neutron star
smoother than Carl fucking Winslow
yes dude. yes indeed.
Everytime is listen to Guthrie, I volley between intense inspiration & intense humility. 🤘🏼
I still remember the first time i heard this it was like tripping without acid.🤯
Guthrie Govan meeting Marco and Bryan is the best thing ever happen after the Big Bang

Also maybe the best bass player in the world
