Mighty nice Matt! I really like the look of them!
Thanks Guy!!
+Matt Lane nice video you schould check out my channel would be cool
Those look really nice, Matt! Like you said, I think they'll just look better and better as they age.
Thanks dude!
Sweet Build! love the look. Making your own tools is so satisfying!
+Wood By Wright thanks man, I agree :)
Nothing is perfect Matt! If it's off by 1/64 or even 1/32........no biggie. No one would have even known unless you said something! But you did and I gotta give you props for that!
Thanks Keith!! You're right!
Good job. The nice thing about them being a little off is they can be easily squared up in no time.
Thanks, you're right!
Sehr schöne Stücke, es ist nicht immer die Perfektion beim Arbeiten und beim Ergebnis, sondern auch der Lerneffekt. Tolles Video, danke.
vielen Dank
Great video Matt!
Thanks man!
wow they look great! Nice build!
Thanks dude!
Very cool, Matt! Thanks for the plug.
+Stone and Sons Workshop no problem brother!
Also, setting blade height while the table saw was running was how Diresta cut his pinky off. I know you've got the SawStop but that freaks me out now, hah.
probably not my smartest moment, but my fingers weren't as close to the blade is they probably seemed!
Cool project man, such a classic tool.
Thanks dude!
Cool project. Now I know what I'm going to do with those wild looking scraps I've been saving!
Awesome, they are fun to make!
they look great to me, well done....
Thank you!
Cool little project Matt. Nice job. Good call on the cherry.
Thanks Mike!

Good Point! Thanks for watching!!
Looks great!
Thanks Charles!
Nice work Matt great use of the floorboards!!
Thanks Barry!
I would be surprised if it were beech. Most gym floors are maple. No the lessen another great video. I have a ton of reclaimed wood flooring.
This is cool project Matt. Kudo's to you for telling the whole story...... Even the problems you faced.
Much respect?
Thanks man, hopefully this way, everyone can learn from my mistakes and not just me ;)
great point
Matt they look awesome!
Keep up the great work
Roy
Thanks Roy, I was quite happy with the look of them!
Came out very nice looking Matt my guess any Woodworker would enjoy using a try Square like that anyone can buy one from a store or a website but the special ones are handmade or inherited and gifted with aa good story
Looks fantastic! pro finish :D great job Matt!
Thanks Carlos!!
2:25 OMG DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!
Jimmy Diresta mentions that's how he got hurt on his table saw.
+David P. Yeah, admittedly it's not one of my smarter moments!!
It's always a learning moment. I feel like most of us that work in shops for any significant amount of time do dangerous things from time to time, usually without even realizing they're dangerous (or at least consciously realizing they're dangerous). I always try to learn about how others hurt themselves in their shop when I have the opportunity because it stands out for me when I am about to do the same thing.
Great video Matt ! Thanks for sharing the process...
Thanks Tomy!
It looks nice. It is a classic
+CrazyRussianWoodShop

Thanks Joe, you're right, that would look good! I guess if I make another I'll keep that in mind!
Matt Lane glad you like the idea🖒 maybe give it strength too?? U would know more than me. Ive never made a square.but looks like a fun little project.

Thanks Douglas!
Great job! What's up with the purple crayon?
hahaha, I stole that from my daughter, works great for marking out boards for rough cuts!!
Those look pretty good to me! 🤓
Thanks!
Looks great Matt
+Paul Meyette
Thanks Paul!
Nice! I think i will make something like that too.
Thanks Willem, they're sure fun to make!
Nice work man, thanks for the video!!!
Thanks!!
Nice work! One question: you can "try" outside corners for square with these, but not inside corners (I guess) because of the short overhang so to speak, of the horizontal part. Did you have a specific reason for that?
+Jan-Wijbrand Kolman no specific reason, this way just matched the one that I saw and liked!
Nice work, Matt! Those turned out awesome. Where did you come across old gym flooring?
+Braxton Wirthlin
Thanks brother! My aunt works at a school here in town and they had been storing this old flooring for years. They has replaced the gym floor several years ago and finally decided to throw this stuff away. They had a whole dumpster of it, I probably should've gotten more!
Nice work, and presentation.
They look nice. I might have missed you saying it, but is there a reason for the circle part or is it just for design purposes?
+Bruce A. Ulrich
It's purely for looks!
Cool. Well, mission accomplished then! They look great!
+Bruce A. Ulrich
Thanks dude!
Cool project!
+Michael Lawing
Thanks dude!
nice video matt , I always enjoy your videos !
+Glen Turner thanks man, I really appreciate it!!
Nice job, what was the purpose of the scallop cut?
It's for aesthetics
good Matt!!!
+Jorge Luis de la Cueva
Thanks!!
cool
+pieter dautzenberg thank you!!
Is the scalloped end functional or is it just for looks?
Just for the looks.
