- A nice house, a yacht or maybe a couple of supercars? €2 million is a lot of money, particularly to spend on a racehorse, but Ancient Wisdom looked every inch a smart performer when making a smart debut at Haydock Park in a seven-furlong maiden contest.
Bought by one of the sport's powerhouses, team Godolphin at the Arqana Deauville August Yearlings Sale in August 2022, the son of Dubawi powered to a five-length victory under James Doyle.

Too Good. Excellent Leg Movements* (V. M. Sridhara)
Great track to start a horses career. Haydock is very fair and ground is safe. Looks top class, don't be surprised if runs in Champagne Stakes at Doncaster and Dewhurst at Newmarket.
This could be another Frankel they need to win some very top class races to get the 2 million back so its a horse to follow and enjoy.
Best of luck to the owners 😅.
I had a round Robin up last night at Haydock I had 2 off James Doyle and Mia nickel horse abate
Winning time: 1m 27.07s (slow by 2.17s) data RP. Good to firm, but his leg action seemed to do the job.
This is a very special horse but needs soft ground.
What an horse.. Lovely action
Doyle said the action is still a bit high. Educate yourself.
@@Chief_Brody He still looked quite good towards the end.
@@nightowl7459 I guess the high action comes from bouncing off the hard ground. otherwise this guy is going to love soft ground.
Certainly one to follow.
@@galdessa1 Yeah, I was listening to the race on the William Hill radio podcast and they gave a brief discussion before the next race, and they were saying before hand that there's plenty of soft ground in his dams pedigree and after the race how he looked like he will appreciate any give in to ground.
hello
His leg movement reminded me of Frankel. Long way to go but surprisingly good start
He's nothing to do with Frankel
How’s it a “surprisingly” good start
@@JPwhoknows what
@@robertdelacy3434 was replying to Robin saying it was a surprisingly good start…how it’s surprising when it was fancied and cost €2 million
why is Cunningham always so serious, he needs to relax at times
2 milion for 4000 first preice
I hope they don't get tempted to rush him for Ascot.
I hope they do..horses are for racing simple as
@@irlgman3566 But they aren't for rushing, they take time to develop, we all know that some races can come to soon for some horses.
@@nightowl7459 they sure can but if anybody knows this an expert like charlie appleby will..dont doubt
@@irlgman3566 Hopefully he makes the right decision, certainly on the expensive side, so I don't think they will be risking it if they didn't think he could do it.
Of course this fella can be different and he looks so impressive.
But total evidence. Alfred Munnings a Dubawi was fav for the Chesham last year. He was crazy in the Paddock, the Ring, to his credit he was 6th.
He hasn't been seen since as he got injured. Who knows maybe he was injured all that time.
Horse racing has short memory. Two million euro for a yearling wouldn't have been worth remarking in 1980 or thereabouts.
