Meanwell is extremely good and very very reliable in long run.nothing even comes close at this aspect.its worth every penny we pay for it.

Lets no get crazy, they are not GOD, and some are a bit crappy as well, but never anywhere near as crappy as the cheapo's though.

Meanwell is great quality my dude. Single sided cabling for rack mount assemblies, it is super useful.

Did you ever do a follow up video of testing?

Current surges from switching means the primary caps do matter, and they do fail if crap ESR and life. I do agree that secondary caps have a harsher time of it.

You can get older used Mean Well units for a lot less than new. I got a Mean Well SP-750-24 that I use for running my dual channel battery charger (350w per channel) for $40 on Ebay.

Meanwell "RSP" series are designed for current sharing with built in circuitry electronics to make current sharing
easier as a built in function no need to solder on resistors and do "HomeMade" current sharing which is what the builder did on the 150 amp pile of ganged together junk he foisted off on me Yeah I learned an expensive lesson.

Mean Well are fine, dude. They are perfectly adequate power supplies. They aren't a Delta, but they won't set your house on fire. After nearly losing my house to a dodgy 240v power brick, I am very, very cognizant as to what plugs into the wall. Basically if it doesn't come straight out of the box with the brand name product I bought it with (or isn't from one), I bin it straight away. There are a lot of fake Mean Well supplies out there. The genuine ones are perfectly fine.

Quindor here, awesome video again Mux! Really interested to see what will show up during testing.
To accompany the video series I also did an article on my blog which has more of the back story and a cost comparison sheet between the cheap and MeanWell versions! People who are interested can find it here: blog.quindorian.org/2016/06/led-power-supply-china-vs-mean-well.html/

Meanwell is the best I got "Worked" on cheap Chinese junk supplies go ahead and pay now or buy again later like
I did as a courtesy I will not name the brand I bought first THINKING I was saving money I didn't they won't hold
steady voltage and will NOT do the advertised amps at all the product I got is a joke BUY MEANWELL to begin with.

Why is this video 30min longer than the actual content?

Yeah, I've edited that in the youtube post-editor, but apparently that takes a couple of hours to propagate. Sorry about that!

np, just thought it was weird and could cost some views seeing as not everybody wants to watch the really long videos ;)

Can you do (with Oscilloscope (under/over load)) tutorial PSU video (high voltage side, until the transformer) (each 230V 50/60Hz (100/120Hum (mH? kHz? (50kHz-5MHz, >100MHz))) filters & components (examples with and without components, and the components of the quality difference) (each component of the explanations and examples (EMI filter, common mode filters))(which is the difference between the two large and two smaller one transformer (Measurement Results))(Capasitors ESR, ESL, series, type, brand)(Ferrite Beads(transistor base lead)))

What kind of power supply do you recommend for providing power to 5, 5v 4.2 amp USB power outlet? each outlet has 2, 2.1 amp USB connectors.

I'm happy buying 5 cheapo drivers for the price of 1 meanwell. I noticed they run a little hot at max/sustained output so I just put a fan over them. I can also recommend Chargery Power Supplies as a high-quality meanwell alternative, it's very nice being able to dial in the voltage and amperage and see exactly what is happening with the status screen, and they're still about 30% less than meanwell.

For those power supplies I Bet my Dell dimension 9100s 1 amp fan would work if ya had a 12 volt output on it and they would get room temperature

The Screw Terminals are live arent they?
Thats why i always try to avoid these things and look for finger proof alternatives.

There's supposed to be a cover over the terminal block but it's often missing in second hand units.
