    Thanks. I think I’ll go with the K&F. I’m not a pro so this suits my budget nicely.

    ND filters are a must. Last shoot was on was a sunny day by the beach. I was 30 minutes into my journey and realised I'd forgotten my Tiffen so turned back, and was so grateful I did to get that gorgeous shallow depth of field. Will have to look at the step up rings as have one for my sigma but need one that'll fit the smaller lenses like my 15mm.

      PS - the link to the K&F filter isn't working. Clicked on it to have a look and link was broken

      Thanks for letting me know about the link! It didn't work unless I linked to 3rd party sellers strange!
      Aye yeah! Glad you managed to save the shoot! Absolutely must for video! If you don't want good motion blur and shallow depth , you might as well shoot with a smartphone! Variable ND's are a godsend!

    Damn 2-32 ! That’s awesome! I have the polar- pro it’s a 2-5

    • @JonBear
      @JonBear  4 года назад

      Actually it's the same! Polar Pro measures in exposure stops, while this one measures in ND - but both are the exact same range, 2-5 stops. It gets confusing. So yes you actually have the same variable range on polar pro, and it's probably of higher quality too!

    There is also K&F ND2 - ND400 filter that is even cheaper. Are you going to test that one? Great video btw

      Nice! I'd love to try that one too. It's probably more intended for photography, but I'm more video oriented so generally the 2-32 is enough

    Love the enthusiasm put into it, subscribed!
    I was looking for variable nd filters, I wonder if 2-32 is enough for making silky water shots and videos in daylight or should I get higher nd filter values, like the 8-128? If so which one do you recommend?
    I'll probably go for the 2-32 since it's my first time ever getting a nd filter :v

      Appreciate it a lot Gabbosaur!! For silky water shots I believe 2-32 will work depending on how long you want to keep the shutter open and how much you can close the aperture.
      For video 2-32 is great and I rarely need more. On very rare occasions when it's really bright outside and I want to open up to f1.2 or something ridiculous, then this nd wouldn't be strong enough. In those rare occasions I'll sacrifice the motion blur by cranking the shutter instead :D

      This filter gives very bad results with a nikon 14-30. Beware, if you own wide lens

    You filter says Nano L. There is a Nano-X HD and a Nano-X PRO. Why so many versions?

    • @JonBear
      @JonBear  3 года назад

      It refers to the coating I believe. It's not something you need to consider :) Appreciate the comment!

      @@JonBearthe only thing I know is that I'm getting very bad results with this filter. More than nd4 darkens a lot one of the sides of the image
