That's what I have too. I thought they were finches. Thank you. I just moved to this house not too far from the woods and numerous ponds. These little fellows are using the residue water on top of the pool tarp as a bird bath.
I have a blackbird that comes every day for his worms, if I don't notice him he comes to the back door to let me know he's there, I call him blacky and I think now he knows my voice
I hand reared a hen Blackbird who was orphaned after her family was attacked by Crows in our rear garde. I've literally just set her free 48 hours ago in the same garden. She's coming and going and feeding regularly amongst the other birds. She'll soon find herself a fine mate and then she'll have a clutch of her own to tend to. They make great parents, very protective of their young chicks, in fact I witnessed the carnage inflicted by the crows on their brood, both parents were dive bombing the crows. She was lucky to survive by hiding low under the privit hedge, where we found her later on during the day whilst gardening. She's very intelligent and clever, seeming to understanding every word I say to her! She's brought me a lot of joy watching her grow up into a young adult. She's grown into quite a beautiful creature and has strong character.
I love blackbird . When I get the feeders ready and scatter bits of fat balls in the ground I call out " Blacky, " and they all appear before the starlings get to their gorging habits. Now, I tried not to call them and they came late and found starlings all over the garden. I do believe that they respond to me. With pigeons it's " Fatso ", with nappies it's " my boy " ! I know that it sounds crazy, but it works for me. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
I came here to clarify what bird just landed next to our berry tree. Thanks to this website it was clearly a female blackbird - SO excited. Been here 7 years, put loads of food out but only see blackbirds a few times a year in our garden..
Excellent filming
Thanks for uploading this. Brilliant to watch in a hurried world
I love these birds, one time a male bb brought his chicks to be fed,he knew I was a ''soft'' touch 😁😁
Lovely, as the sound is soft for going to sleep x
