Age 55 I bought a bike last year. I was never an outside sort of person but now I can't stay indoors! Going out on my bike has changed my life, the smells, the sounds, the landscapes, what an absolute joy
I grew up in southern africa where birds abound and we went fishing and made fire and had great outdoor life before computers and even television even existed, my dad fished and still does at the vaal dam and I used to try to lure crabs onto a simplified rod mad of a stick, a piece of gut and some barbecued meat and the put them in a bucket and then release them, overall my childhood was awesome and since I moved to Scotland at age roughly age 40, I now have a garden with different kinds of birdies and foxes and squirrels and I feed everything x mother nature and watching animals made me realise whom the god whom made me is ❤

Ah Wrens! So that's the name of the tiny birds I hear all the time. Since I moved I've always heard wrens in the morning. There's 2 big trees near my house covered in a small flock of these little dude's. Would always hear wood pigeons and collared doves in the morning at my old house. As well as the occasional jackdaw and a variety of smaller birds. (Wrens, robins, house sparrows, etc). And would always hear a Great Tit in the morning, when staying round my Nan's. Hearing it now brings back memories, it's sort of a painful happy feeling. House sparrows and robins (I'd hear robins especially often in small forests) I'd hear everywhere. As well as blackbirds. As well as occasional magpie parties half way through the day, a little gang of the cheeky guys was bullying a squirrel one time, opened my door super loud and they scattered and left it alone.
Yeah, until it starts pouring down and all the birds disappear to find cover LOL but yeah, I get your meaning. Sometimes my birdfeeder gets completely washed out in a day and the valuable nutrients go into the ground. I need to find a solution to that cause the birds refuse to eat from the one which is sheltered...😕
Ja! Exactly! I try to and mostly do try to awaken before the birdies come to eat their seeds and sing their songs and before all the humans wake up and make noises with machines and speech and general household sounds (glass trucks and any siren sounds are terribly loud and intrusive) so therefore dawn is a very important time of each day, dusk also be special but Scotland lacks sunshine pure, having said all that, my favorite birds here are the black and white magpies, the turtle doves, I have a pure white one whom visits daily now btw and it be a joy if I can peek through the kitchen window at night, in the dark an get a glimpse at one of my very shy little foxes ❤ that be an also highlight of my day , geez guys got carried away there but you know how I mean x nighty nighty and cheers for beautiful sounds
@@alanj9391 that would be the blackbird. :D Blackbirds often start their morning chatter around 3m in late spring/summer and among all sounds is the only one that wakes me up without enraging me, lol. ( bird songs in general)
One year at my Mother's old house years ago, she went to water a hanging-basket over the front door, saw a nest in there with eggs so decided to leave it. They hatched, (it was a Spotted Fly-Catcher and we could see the babies from the step) and we were fortunate enough to see one of them take it's first flight. It only went a couple of yards before landing, but we were really excited by this. Soon after, they all moved out. It was cool.
Such a simple and effective video...not loud and person led, just the bird speaking for themselves. Often, simple and quiet it best. Thank you for bringing us this.
This is quite spectacular! What an incredible amount of work went into this video to capture the fabulous pictures and the superb sound. We have had most of these birds in our garden but, as we live in London, I can't usually recognise their calls. Thank you so much. One to keep and refer to. It is also lovely to see their markings at close range.

Never ceases to amaze me too. Its all to do with the birds syrinx, located at the base of a bird's trachea, which is surrounded by an air sac. The two work together to produce and amplify the bird's song.
This just randomly appeared as a suggestion to watch not something I would look for but surprisingly I found to be very interesting, informative, and very relaxing. Thank you great footage and descriptions.
One of my favorite things to do when lucky enough to jump the pond is to walk in the woodlands and open lands of Ireland and the UK. I especially enjoy seeing the wee robins that seem so curious and friendly. A lovely land it is. Thank you for sharing a bit of it with us.
ever since I was a young lad I have loved watching the birds flying and their callings. now I'm in my 60s I tend to the garden feed and put water out for the birds and then watch them swoop down onto the grass and listen to them calling their friends. I find them and all Gods creatures fascinating
A certain Flight Lieutenant Colin "The Forger" Blythe would certainly approve, as do I thanks to my Grandad Bill Neale RAF, an old "Birder" from Notts County. It's nice to find someone keeping the old ways going when nobody else knows or cares for them.
Nothing more beautiful than birdsong..standing outside about 5am on a nightshift having a cigarette 3 wks ago and listening to all the different songs..just bliss and fascinating.

@@utopia5534 I work in an ambulance control room and also finish at 7am. The noisiest ones I hear are blackbirds. But I've identified robins and others. Chaffinches and greenfinches hang about too.

This is some of the best footage and sound recording of our native UK garden birds that I've seen anywhere, not just on RUclips, congratulations! A brilliant concise run through of everything I see in my own garden (except noisy parrots swapped for your greenfinches!) in West London, and all perfectly captured and edited. I had to replay it all over again with the sound turned up. A very professional job, the BBC would be proud!
All of these birds are beautiful, whether it be their gorgeous serenades, their round, fluffy cuteness, their incredible intelligence, or their intriguingly intricate patterns. My personal favourites in this video include: Robin, Blackbird, Blue Tit, Wren, Long-tailed Tit, Pied Wagtail, House Sparrow, Magpie, and Collared Dove; But all birds shown here, there and everywhere on the internet, on photos, or spotted in real life are equally amazing in their own ways.

I heard a song outside my window this morning, it sounded beautiful and I actually began listening to the different bird calls, it’s easy to dismiss but they are so wonderful! Il be making an effort not only to listen to them from now on but to actively distinguish each bird call, the beauty of nature is right next to us if we only look 👀 ❤
What a fantastic variety of birds you have in the garden! I only ever have Coal Tits, house sparrows, feral pigeons and magpies. There are wrens, but these allusive! I hear them calling but have never seen them in my garden or the surrounding gardens. Next is the Goldfinch. Two days ago one was at the feeder to the front of my house. Never seen one before, and not seen since. Great video! Thanks!

At the age of 53 I've suddenly started paying attention to birdsong when I'm out walking. Perhaps it's a sign of getting old 😂 Is it a language? An announcement of identity and intent? Who's saying what to whom? It's becoming of great interest to the nerd in me 🤓 This video is going to be an invaluable little tool for me this summer, thank you for making and sharing 🤩
Lots of interesting questions there :) I was watching a video by BioBush about his predictions for 2070 and he suggests we will understand by then what birds are saying in their songs. He also predicts that in birds like parrots and ravens we will discover language and that through computer translation we may be able to communicate in their language. All quite mind blowing! What an absolutely gorgeous video! I've seen most of these lovely birds, but not the goldfinches !! My favourite bird is the Goldcrest. I took part in the Big Garden Bird watch! So relaxing watching them!
There's two coming in my garden. .a nuthatch. A bird ive not seen since I went to the Lakes 50y ago. And that is a . Tree creeper. The bird with the smallest egg I found when I was a bin lid.was a wren. But then I found a long tail was even smaller. Crackin Viv.

This is perfect for a complete novice. I set out to find out what the most common song I can hear is. Turns out it is wrens 😊. We get lots of parakeets too but everyone knows what they sound like around here. Noisy buggers!
Glad you found it helpful and great that you've hear wrens frequently - such a beautiful song. Don't have many parakeets where I am but I've got a group of juvenile magpies who visit the garden regularly - I would apply your description of parakeets equally to them 😊
I can't think of another bird in the UK think that is more associated with superstition as the magpie is. I always greet them when I see one (seeing two is better though!)

It always surprises me just how much you can hear if you stop and listen for a moment. Even from my bedroom now, I can hear about 20 odd birds
I used to live in England for 15years…. This bird singing brings me back to those time :) spectacular xxx

I have seen about 85% of these from my bedroom window alone- thanks to my grandma I now have a keen eye for spotting and identify different birds.
I love the sound of bird song , so beautiful especially male black bird ,calms me. best sound to my ears .bird spoting is addictive .🐦🐦 Thank you 😊

This is some of the best footage and sound recording of our native UK garden birds that I've seen anywhere, not just on RUclips, congratulations! A brilliant concise run through of everything I see in my own garden (except noisy parrots swapped for your greenfinches!) in West London, and all perfectly captured and edited. I had to replay it all over again with the sound turned up. A very professional job, the BBC would be proud!

All of these birds are beautiful, whether it be their gorgeous serenades, their round, fluffy cuteness, their incredible intelligence, or their intriguingly intricate patterns.
My personal favourites in this video include:
Robin, Blackbird, Blue Tit, Wren, Long-tailed Tit, Pied Wagtail, House Sparrow, Magpie, and Collared Dove;
But all birds shown here, there and everywhere on the internet, on photos, or spotted in real life are equally amazing in their own ways.

My first time on this side of RUclips, as for the first time, I’ve now taken a moment to listen to my surroundings in the morning and it’s such a blissful and relaxing experience hearing all these bird sounds.

I heard a song outside my window this morning, it sounded beautiful and I actually began listening to the different bird calls, it’s easy to dismiss but they are so wonderful! Il be making an effort not only to listen to them from now on but to actively distinguish each bird call, the beauty of nature is right next to us if we only look 👀 ❤
The dawn chorus is d loveliest sound in d morning 🌄
What a fantastic variety of birds you have in the garden! I only ever have Coal Tits, house sparrows, feral pigeons and magpies. There are wrens, but these allusive! I hear them calling but have never seen them in my garden or the surrounding gardens. Next is the Goldfinch. Two days ago one was at the feeder to the front of my house. Never seen one before, and not seen since. Great video! Thanks!

Lots of interesting questions there :) I was watching a video by BioBush about his predictions for 2070 and he suggests we will understand by then what birds are saying in their songs. He also predicts that in birds like parrots and ravens we will discover language and that through computer translation we may be able to communicate in their language. All quite mind blowing! In the meantime, good luck with your own endeavours and glad you found the video helpful.

Thanks for the your wonderful description my neighbour has his garden set up to feed the birds and he has all sorts of beautiful birds coming back every year as we are lucky to live in the country side in Scotland and the little birds all nest and breed in the trees just next to my back garden i love watching the little birds coming back every year now i know there breeds im going to enjoy watching them more 😁

What an absolutely gorgeous video! I've seen most of these lovely birds, but not the goldfinches !! My favourite bird is the Goldcrest. I took part in the Big Garden Bird watch! So relaxing watching them!
I have the reverse situation - plenty of goldfinches but haven't seen a Goldcrest in ages. That would have made my Big Garden Birdwatch!

There's two coming in my garden. .a nuthatch. A bird ive not seen since I went to the Lakes 50y ago. And that is a . Tree creeper. The bird with the smallest egg I found when I was a bin lid.was a wren. But then I found a long tail was even smaller. Crackin Viv.

This is perfect for a complete novice. I set out to find out what the most common song I can hear is. Turns out it is wrens 😊.
We get lots of parakeets too but everyone knows what they sound like around here. Noisy buggers!

I can't think of another bird in the UK think that is more associated with superstition as the magpie is. I always greet them when I see one (seeing two is better though!)
