As someone who works lights, and who has also done sound, at my church, yeah.
This is very true.
As someone who's voluntaring for the sound (and also has to help with placing the lights in their proper positions, because weather exists, and we have to storage some of the equipment after each show) at a local amateur open air theater, I agree.

I recently watched the Doctor Who Cast and Crew 500 Miles Special and realized... this is how every movie and show should do credits. Show us EVERYONE who worked on it, not just a memorial wall of names that sacrificed effort in the war of creation. Even Sue from catering and her mad pot drum skillz.
As someone who’s known to do technical crew stuff for my school’s shows: Thank you. I cannot say how many times a sound queue has made me have a mental breakdown.
Same, what's even worse is my school has a small backstage, and the actors walk all over the sets we have to move.

As a director's assistant when I was in high school, I agree backstage workers need more recognition. I ended up knowing all the cue of the light techs, sound techs, knew what costumes where needed at what time and the lines of a few minor characters. That was the first and best play we put on for the school and we ate cookies I baked and gummy bears I brought once it was done.

At my school’s theatre, we always, after the show and all the actors take bow, point up to our lighting and mic workers, and the down towards the music pit so the audience can give them applause too.
I personally think that Puki's voice sounds a anime protagonist but if they were didn't want to be generic so instead they became a chaotic anime character that makes music.

As someone who worked back stage moving the sets in my high school drama department can confirm tech crews need more love
Now, I'm not a techie, I'm an actor, but I think that the people backstage totally deserve more respect. I have helped my dad do the lights in rehearsals, and it was hard to just push buttons without messing it up. Also, props to the people who go up on the catwalk to fix the spotlights. That thing is _terrifying_ and I couldn't imagine having to go up there often. But, yeah, all people in theatre, not just actors, deserve respect. They're awesome! Go give some respect to the crew :)

About smelling the quarter: there's video by NileRed about that. If I remember correctly: used coins have a specific smell that comes from oils on the skin reacting with the metal. Also, good sense of smell might have helped there.

While listening to this, I had the greatest play idea. The play starts out as normal, right? Then a quarter thru the big standard play, then ENTIRE play flips around, as we focus entirely on the wacky adventures of the stage crew, in a play, and the exaggerated measures the crew must go thru to make the play successful... all while the play continues on in the background, with mild hiccups!
I love these late night tumblr posts, but watching them all means that I know all of the posts from the binge compilations, it's so sad
