It's not the exact same as the safety vest and ladder trick but my D&D party managed to sneak into a castle held by drow by convincing the guards we'd been hired by their boss to vanquish the undead in the sub-basement. Turned out there actually WAS a sub-basement filled with undead. We got away with the artifact we'd been hired to find and a cool 600 gp.
semi-unrelated but this reminds me of how my rogue character impersonated a guardsman, and it spiraled into him actually joining the City Guard for real and starting a Union of the Guard to agitate for better wages and hazard pay

Why?” And the it cuts to the hero, and you see them born, and their family is toxic, and nobody likes him, and he gets diagnosed with (mental illness), and everybody says he’s never going to do anything good, and he keeps trying, but metroma- oh my god this is just a slightly different viewpoint of megamind.

So when I first started reading it my friends mentioned to me that Hange dies so don’t get too attached to the funny confident scientist lady. I immediately did of course, but how wouldn’t I? Anyway. When they went to retake that one city (I think it was Shiganshina) and Bert got thrown in a barrel and basically nuked an area and she got caught up in it, I thought that was that. Then three chapters later, she swings back in like ‘hey whatup I’m fine don’t mind my awesome goggle glasses things being cracked’ and I’m like ‘oh, neat. This is like how people who watch Haikyuu say that a kid dies to watch them get extremely confused about how a death happens in a light volleyball anime’.
Then like 30 chapters later she gets covered by another explosion and I think ‘Oh heck- they did a fakeout once before, she should be fine, right?!!’ And then she shows back up again a chapter or so later and it’s great because now I’m even more confident she’ll live.
Then the rumbling happens and she jumps out of the plane at some wall titans to buy time and falls down on fire and I’m thinking ‘she’s… she’s ok… right? It’s not like… but she’s survived two fakeouts…’ and then all her dead friends appeared in front of her and I nearly died myself

Fun fact:
The blue birds from the movie Rio (Spix's Macaw) are not extincs anymore, there is a project between Brazil and Germany, in which Germany is helping breed them, and Brazil is replanting native plant species in a territory to reintroduce the Spix's macaw.
So long, from what I could find, they already released 20, and have 30 still in captivity, to make sure these first 20 survive in the wild (they are living together with another bigger, more common species of blue macaw because they can then learn to survive, avoid predators, and find food)
And I read that in 2023 Germany was/is supposed to send 30-50 more to Brazil!

Well, only additional info I found was that a few, maybe just a couple, were seen in 2016, BEFORE the reintroduction project. That may mean that they are still out there, hidden somewhere, slowly coming back. With the help of the project, maybe we'll start frequently seeing them in the wild again.
