    People will argue Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena, etc. is the biggest star in WWE history, and it’s arguable.. but NONE of them can match Taker’s longevity. If there is anyone who has the credentials and career to compete against any of those guys for that top spot, it’s him. Not to mention he IS the greatest character in pro wrestling history.

    • @assassinsknight
      @assassinsknight 5 лет назад +42

      But the boys in the back, including Rock, Austin, and Cena have called him the greatest. That’s really something.

      When you have just about EVERY wrestler he ever worked with or came into contact with at any point of his career, telling you how amazing he was. That says something. That I've heard only really one who spoke ill on Taker and that was Bill Dundee for whatever reason. When you have the guys who many would call the greatest of all time all say Taker was. That all you really need to know. Taker is the greatest. He for sure should be on the WWE mountain rushmore if you will.

      Austin and Rock were great and did it for a very short period of time. 96 to roughly 04. And that tells you how great they were. Hogan made the golden era his own but he wasn't always the best. Cena was great but doesn't resonate as much as Austin and Rock did to the fans. But yes, if we're talking about THE GREATEST, It's gotta be Taker for many reasons. To his many personas (which most wrestling gurus would say a "Career Suicide"), his longevity as you mentioned, and the way he lead that locker room for decades. Taker merely conquered 4 different eras of the WWE and that says a lot about how great he is.

    Taker was never produced as 'the guy', he wasn't holding titles long or the face of an era like Hogan, Austin, Cena, etc. But what I think makes him the greatest of all time, was his longevity. He was a big deal from his first match at survivor series and was seen a main event star with the crowd invested in him for all 30 years. He taught a lot of stars, built a lot of stars, put on some incredible matches in his time, and had arguably the most interesting story going into Mania for a decade.

    Undertaker was one of the top guys in the Hogan era, one of the top guys in the Rock/Stone Cold Era, one of the top guys in the Cena era, and one of the top guys in the current Rollins/Reigns era. In reality, those 4 eras combined should be called the Undertaker era. As great as those names mentioned were, they are all second to the greatest Professional Wrestler of all time. The in ring psychology, the look, the charisma, the wrestling talent, the ability to tell a story in and out of the ring, the character/persona, the respect for his fellow wrestlers, his ability to keep his opponents safe, his longevity, his ability to stay fresh through that longevity and his willingness to put new talent over at all points in his career. No one in the history of wrestling have ever hit all of those points, much less with the amount of magnitude that the Undertaker did.

      I hope you are just young and naive.
      The ending and some major spots are decided. Most of the kicks and punches are telegraphed. Some are not. Chair hits? Real. Falls and dives? Real. Slams and falls? Real. Thumb tacks and staples and all that crazy stuff? Real.
      These guys are stuntmen who put their lives in each other’s hands. Scripted or not, much of the violence is very real.

      @@secretfornow8895 i didnt argue about these athletes being stuntmen. What i said is it was scripted. He mention he took undertakers choke slam 2 or 3 times.. no one ever took it... Dude, there is nothing special about taking that move. He was speakin like this wasnt scrpted.

      @@dipo2142 You clearly don't know wha you are talking about. The entire thing is NOT scripted. Much is improvised. He was probably only planning on taking that once.
