Great video. We decided to go with a 2022 TAB 400 boondock edition. No 5th wheel heard and read to many horror stories about them. Just wanted keep it simple . Being small we don’t need all that stuff/junk. Thanks again for the great video keep them coming.

Was curious, so watched video on the Tab. Cute little trailer and looks high quality.

Great analysis, Wil & Jen! I agree that a TT is fine for weekending. But for fulltiming (as we are), I think a 5th wheel is the best way to go. They are roomier & have a more home-like feel, I think. I also agree that renting an RV is a great idea if you're new to camping. It's better to spend a few dollars renting, to find out the type of rig that is best for you, rather than make an expensive purchase mistake.

Well, I was certainly considering a travel trailer but the points here are spot on and points me to a fifth wheel.

I think a big reason outdoor kitchens aren’t as popular on fifth wheels is because they typically stand higher off the ground. Think about it - a shorter person would never be able to cook.

What a great explanation of what you need in the truck! Y'all are amazing. I love the way you work together so well. ❤️🙏 Enjoy the rally. Wish we could be there. Maybe next year! Jane in SC

Great video, love the details you covered for all people looking to buy a rv.. ... We have a 2021 ram 2500 diesel and ultimately went with a travel trailer. We went with the 2970 Grand Design Imagine. After looking at both types, We went with the Imagine 2970rl because lt had the same roomy interior as a 5th wheel and the storage was comparable. Now headroom in the 2 slides is lower, but no biggie. If you are on the fence, go look at the Grand Design Imagine series. Jayco also has a nice setup like Grand Design too. But like you said, unless, you jump up to the nice upper end towables like ours, you will be hard pressed to find the same luxuries as a 5th wheel...ours was 55k loaded with every option they had, and a 30 foot 5th wheel grand design is around 70k plus ... So unless you are a serious camper, that has the money and will use it often. 70k plus is alot of money. Now for the weekender like us that just casually goes once every other month, the travel trailer was the best choice for our needs... keep up the great videos guys....

My wife and I started out with a Trailer after one season we upgrade to a Jayco Eagle 5th Wheel after 6 seasons we saw the Alliance Paradigm 310RL on your show and ordered one w/ all the goodies. We’ve had it for about 3 weeks and LOVE IT! Thanks guys for your channel and can’t forget to give Matt a shout-out also.

Love the videos! But there is an aspect of half ton trucks towing that nobody usually takes into consideration that I ran into last year. I have a 2019 F150 with the 11,200 tow capacity with max tow package on it. But the length of our travel trailer caused problems on the highway with sway even with sway bars. The half ton truck is so light it had problems. So in my opinion I would move to a 3/4 ton for anything over 30' or so. My TT was only 6k pounds we ended up upgrading to a 3/4 ton truck. Always enjoy the videos safe travels to you all.

I'd love to see the same treatment for Class A and Class C. I'm not really interested in a trailer or 5th Wheel because of the complexity of getting the tow vehicle and connecting every time you move. I've also got a motorcycle I want to bring along and I don't like the layout of most toy haulers due to the compression of the living area.

I was so excited to see this new video because my husband and I are in the middle of deciding as we are newbies. We don't like losing so much space in back of the truck so since we are newbies we will be choosing a small travel trailer. Thanks you guys are the best!

Great video. The answer is usually "what works for your travel style". The comparisons, good and bad, of each type is a huge help to those researching. Then when you go to look at them, you know what to expect and can see if it is something you can live with as there is no perfect RV. Much like a home, you are seeing if the pros and cons work in your favor.
I would be in the need to get a truck to haul the trailer around, so the cost of each goes up. Not just the truck but the hitch and other items needed to move it down the road. While I would love to get 2500/3500 (am a Chevy guy), my wife/financial manager would not be pleased with yet another vehicle in the driveway. :)
If you have a change as Class A/Class C would be a helpful one as well. Combine it with this one and you have most of the RV world covered.

One of the things that I have noticed and especially after watching the KYD video and seeing it first hand in AZ is that trailers are the first rv that can get blown over real quick where motorhomes and fifth wheels don’t as much.

Great vid. We don’t have an RV yet so We rent a travel trailer when we do go camping. Honestly I prefer a Class A but do to the needs we have, unless you do some modifications, a class A won’t accommodate 5 people and their toys. With that being said, I want a fifth wheel toy hauler. Even though we won’t be full timing, we want that garage for the kids. It’s big, it’s heavy and will limit us to where we can go, but I’m ok with that. Plus we can carry five bikes and weekend extras. We’ll be a Big huge Toy hauler having family just for weekend memories and longer ones in the summer. Btw, I already have the Ram diesel dually, so we’re almost there.

Great job describing some of the major differences. I currently have a Hideout 308BH. I consider it to be a entry level 5th wheel and it is very similar to the layout of the TT you review. As my wife and my self are both on the taller side we decided to go with a 5th wheel camper. Ours is a 2020 and had a price of about 40k. Witch when we compared TT to 5th wheels with what we wanted in a camper the price point was pretty close ( with in about 5k).

Aw Toby Loves Wil, too cute leaning into him on couch
    ❤ Toby
I have Wayfarer MH but I would go with Fifth Wheel over TT
I had gooseneck Liv Quarters HT so still have diesel pu with chip and jake break, etc
I think Fifth Wheels easier to back but thats what I learned with. Now spoiled with Mercedes thats way to drive but only 26 ft too.
I would consider fifth wheel but want super small and hard to find.
And thanks Jen having Wil tell difference with levelers. Have Big Foot but only put down once at home and the shore cord got caught when going back up! Luckily only scraped a little off cord and I wrapped it just in case with electrical RV tape .
Love your Fifth Wheel but would have to hire driver 🤣
Hope had fun at rally or are having fun there.
Cant wait for Matt and Andreas updates on new MH. Stay safe guys 🥰

fifth wheel has the same meaning as third wheel except that is applies to situations where more than three people are involved. for example, the fifth person in a double date

Hi Wil & Jen! Definitely going with a “Weekend Warrior” travel trailer. I have situation you probably can help me with. I drive a Jeep Wrangler. I’m gonna trade it for a Jeep Gladiator with the max tow package of 7,600lbs. What weight trailer would you recommend to keep that 3.6L V6 from screaming and slowing down when going up hill?
