Assalamun alaikum wa rahmatullah....الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ( سورہ بقرہ آیت 274 )
جو لوگ اپنا مال رات اور دن اور پوشیدہ اور ظاہر (راہ خدا میں) خرچ کرتے رہتے ہیں ان کا صلہ پروردگار کے پاس ہے اور ان کو (قیامت کے دن) نہ کسی طرح کا خوف ہوگا اور نہ غم۔

Beautiful Sheikh! such a amazing way to explain the trap of Riba. Personally I have been laughed at and mocked for refusing to take a mortgage and renting these last 12 years, when I explain to family and relatives and show them the verses from the Quran I get laughed at, or told I think I am better than them or that I am wasting money or that I am not a scholar so how can I say this when other so called scholars are saying its ok to take a mortgage, the worse response was from one relative who told me " you are standing with the rest of us in 5H1t and all your doing is raising the bottom of your trousers", that really upset me. Yet I take a look at that relative and all the others and all I see is misery in their daily lives, a lot of drama, and competition with each other over things cars and houses and holidays and materialistic things, like as if they are in some sort of insanity to ensure they have enough money to pay the monthly mortgage payment, always a worry on their minds, never a peaceful moment. SubhanAllah, Allah SWT has blessed me so much since I turned down taking a mortgage 12 years ago, Alhamdulillah, he has blessed me with a loving wife and children, a very high paying job, doors have been opened for me that I never would have expected or even dreamed of. I went to Hajj in 2019 by Allah's invitation, so much positive things Allah has provided for me, and continues to do so, my advice to all of you, stick to the straight path and it will be so much more peaceful!

My wife always reminds me, we are exactly where Allah SWT wants us at any particular time in life, when any of us feel we are not progressing or we don't own our own house or car or don't have the job we want, always remember you are where Allah SWT wants you.
I constantly remind myself, I am in a position blessed in the top 1% of people on this planet of nearly 8 billion, how? I have my health, clean water, food, electricity, transport, a roof over my head and nobody is shooting at me, Alhamdulillah. In a split second Allah SWT could take it away for not appreciating his gifts. How many people around the world would swap places with me or you in a heartbeat because of everything we have and take for granted?
It is human of us to look up at someone who has more but not to remind our self to look at those who have less and praise Allah for the infinite blessings he has granted us that we don't even consider, such as sight & hearing, smell and touch and the ability to walk and talk, and ultimately being one of the lucky who has been chosen to be a Muslim / Muslimah, taking part in praying fasting zakat etc
Which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?
Many are like that nowadays....this is why we need to stay in sohbat of a sufi sheickh....

The dust of interest segment, especially where a man's family puts so much pressure on him, really resonated with me. It really is easier to do haram than marry the average muslim woman. Either her or her family will have such high standards, that you have no choice but to save up till you're in your early thirties, or get involved in interest. Most agnostic hipster white girls are content with a lot less. All they want is love and loyalty... sad times...
