- Hey Guys, been meaning to upgrade the Android software (Lineage 14.1) on my old tablet ( LG Gpad ) now for a while. I finally got around to it!
Thought I would share my experience with you on upgrading from Android KitKat 4.4 to Nougat 7.0!

I have what looks like the same tablet and iplayer will soon not work on it. I'm hoping this could solve the problem. It's just having the courage to do it without messing the whole thing up (I'm not great at tech stuff). If I do cock it up is there a recovery option, and do I lose my current apps in the process?
Ran through your method. Everything was going smooth I just cant get it to stop showing welcome. That's all it does

Android 4 is usable too, its just doesnt have good CPU! And no, you cant upgrade
I tried this with my Gigaset Maxwell 10 tablet and every time I try to root the device it says my device isn't supported.
I tried other rooting apps but none of them have worked so far, they either give an error or say my device is too strong.
Is there anything else I can try to get a newer Android version on my tablet?

Google Google play store apk. U should find it at the apkmirror site. I used that method when my nephew handed me a tablet that kept saying server error til I downloaded the apk

The files u have to download r they only for LG
if you do to the Lineage OS website, you can usually find a version for your device
If your tech skills aren’t broad enough to even think about changing the playback speed or work around an inadequate volume level(personally had to turn down to keep from waking people at 3 am) your IMO lacking the skills to successfully flash this update to your device and shouldn’t blame any problems or personal short comings on this guy who is only trying to help other people extend the life of unsupported devices! That being said bro, Id like to thank you for what I found to be clear instructions if you have a basic to medium level understanding of how android works or have a lil patience and a google search bar lol I understand if anyone thinks what I said was a little harsh or mean but I’m just trying to be realistic after seeing all the comments left by people thinking this process is as intuitive as clicking a link and you have a whole diff OS like downloading an app from play store
After flash i reboot and it s dead. My tablet stuck on the logo screen for 35 minutes

I have a Lenovo A7 30HC which runs android 5.1. this is all I have so I can't risk screwing it up lol. Lately struggling with apps and process acore driving me insane, I do the force stop, disable contacts, storage etc but have to eventually factory reset all the time. will this method work if I can figure out how to do it? I usually use Kingroot though, I works a treat
King root is fine.. just check see if you can find a lineage rom for your tablet.

heh.. i got my fake android 9 tablet from AMAZON.. u live u learn! But in its defence - the processor is good. so its not sluggish.. its just the space is incorrect and store apps arent supporting.. PARSE ERROR PARSE ERROR!

So far Google didn't make a source installing file for Android available to update your phone , tablet ,and TV manually, That's why we use third party apps.😒
The question here is : Why do we need a third party app to detect the android version then install updates for it on our tablets or phones? Why not a set file from Google to get TVs into android network?😊
The service provider you have your phone through if on contract or The manufacturers of your device is going to be the ones who push updates to said devices not google unless your using a pixel or other google branded device and after several iterations of one operating system are released support and updates are discontinued as to not tie up money and resources on what’s often seen as obsolete hardware and software. While I could still throw my sim in and use the iPhone 5s and 6 max I have in a drawer somewhere they will never come close to the latest versions of iOS being pushed to still supported models
The manufacturer of your device doesn't want you to continue to use your device for ever..."planned obsolescence" kind of thing. So, they don't make it easy to upgrade your OS. Bah!

Looks like it's been unsupported. So android nugget is the last upgrade on lineage for the LG gpad... Get it while it lasts! 😁

Yes it still works, but with Android 4.4.2, I cannot load many of the new Android apps.
