Came across this tut purely by accident, never heard of this vanishing point technique. Uptil now have been forming surfaces and planes from solid layers. Image my relief. Subscribed.
Great tutorial as always! Vanishing point and vpe. export an be accomplished in older versions of PS. I'm using CS6 myself. Once you've created your grid, click Ctrl+Shift+e. This will prompt you to save the file as a 3ds file. Once in AE import as in the tutorial. Navigate to where you saved the 3ds file you just created. You'll see a .vpe there as well. Click on that to import and you'll be all set. You can follow the rest of the tutorial from there. Hope this helps.
I was able to save vpe file using ctrl+shift+E and lots of 3d plains were produced in the same folder where I saved it besides I can't find any vpe file through after effects while trying to import it ... Really got into trouble Zeus GYD , can you suggest any tip to ffix it ??
hello i don't know if fall on this message ,i followed all the steps of your excellent tutorial but when i arrived after keying i turn my video to 3d the image disappear can help me thx
dude you rock thanks for all the tips and congratz for the new voice sounds more natural lol job like yours is hard to find and just share it with us is priceless thanks man is incredible what you can accomplish with all your tips
Can you make a tutorial showing your studio set up, lighting the green screen, camera model, best lenses used for chroma keying work and which you think is the best camera for green screen and compositing. Thanks in advance.
this is a very good tutorial . i been editing music videos for a couple years and been using magix for editing cuts ect. and after effects for effects.but the files would come out too large in a.e. and just a bunch of run around.then i finally am learning premier as we speak cuz i seen that the dynamic link works well with the 2 adobe workflow.but im trying to find out how to have a good workflow by editing these green screen shots i got. how can i go back an forth so if i see issues or i want to change stuff how is it a good way to do?do u use premier and after effects or just after effects? i tried this multicam on premier and the cuts and everything was inplace but i wanna go through each cut and add effects ect. but i got lost and cant figure it out at all
ratedfilmz I recommend using the dynamic link fully. when you right click (windows) , click “replace with After Effects Composition” which you probably already know how to do. Mac -> Ctrl+Click. if you’d like to re edit the after effects footage after you closed after effects. simply right click or control click on the clip that’s on premiere and click “EDIT ORIGINAL”. not sure if that’s what you’re asking but it should take you straight to the edit you were working on.
SUPERB tutorial!!!!!!!! Thank you. I have subscribed to your channel. And, by the way, I love the voice. At least I can understand it clearly. So it doesn't bother me at all. I have an important question for you. I plan to do my v-e-r-y first green screen project, which will entail many of the elements you have demonstrated here. I am nervous and excited at the same time. Let us suppose you had the actor (talent), instead, WALK FROM THE END of the hallway toward the camera position. Here is the question: could you do a tutorial (or have any resources) regarding "adjusting" the size of the actor (in compositing such a shot) as they are walking toward us. Your assistance on this would be so appreciative. Thank you.
Hi...i use vanishing point..but after export for after effect(vpe).....option not available...please help me....only for three option show...show edges, show measurement, render grids to Photoshop.
for people who dont have the option to export: your version of adobe isnt full. But, anyway, you can save the image with .vpe extension (vanishing point for after effects) using CMD + SHIFT + E. It saves with .3ds extention but it can work in after effects importing vanish point.
can any one help me with some tips on green screen with a moving camera ? Im filming handheld in a car, including some tilt or pan movements of the camera. I don't know how to film the background video I want to replace the green screen with. the background should be sth like a trafficjam. Is it even possible to replace the greenscreen with a clip that I shoot in real, when the camera has Tilt or Pan movements ?
Im running into same problem that another subscriber commented on. When i turn my green screen layer to 3D its gone. Moving it in Z space did nothing. Im stuck. Can you help out please. Thanks
can you help me. have you figured it out yet...so ok when my green screen footage goes far back why does it be behind the background footage anyone help please
Can't find any "export to after effects" file while editing with vanishing point grid planes ... I'm using photoshop cc 2017 and I'm windows 8.1 user ... Please help me how to fix the problem so that i cant import a vpe file to after effects cc 2017 ... PLEASE I NEED HELP.
In the vanishing point window there should be a tiny little 4 horizontal bar icon just to the right of the pointer/arrow icon on the upper left of the vanishing point window. When you click the 4 bar icon, you get a dropdown mention that should have an "export of after effects - vpe" menu item
