I have been playing and listening to recordings of Torroba's music for years but this time I found myself simply immersed in her wonderful phrasing and charming rendition. Great dynamics, very musical and captivating playing.
She is so talented, and somehow being into classical music seems to bring out the best in peoples' personality. She's lovely as well as a great musician.
Ana is amazing as always, her musicality is tremendous. I really dislike this interviewer though, he seems unpleasant. nonetheless good work, great interview, beautiful music.
She is so incredible! The music is obviously deeply connected with her soul and this comes out when she performs and that is a double gift. Makes me love the music, love the way she plays it, and love to watch her.
For a guitar student Ana Vidovic is very good to watch as well as to listen to. She has an amazingly relaxed touch with both hands. Her position and posture are flawless, and quite beautiful. The left hand fingers look as though they are barely touching the fretboard at times, and the right hand is SO relaxed. She never "over" plays yet seems to get an effortless dynamic range, and everything is so tastefully musical. A real pleasure to behold. Thanks for uploading.
I am curious and totally ignorant of playing the classical guitar or any instrument really. It appears she is looking intently at her left hand fingering the strings. In my ignorance this surprises me. Touch typists do not look at the keyboard. What about the guitar is different?
Typists obviously have something else to watch which is the screen. Musicians playing from memory have nowhere to look. She does look at her hands but if you blindfolded her she could probably play 90% without looking. Sometimes guitar has some very long hand shifts which might require looking.
I play (but at a baby level compared to Ana) - it's simply something to do if you've memorized the music Sometimes you watch your left hand, sometimes your right. You're looking but not really seeing if that makes sense. There are times when it helps a little to watch a position shift up or down the neck, but it's not critical. Otherwise what would you look at if not reading music? (not the audience- that would be awkward at best). I agree that Ana coiuld probably play this and any piece in her rep. blindfolded if push came to shove.
Wonderful ! ... I wonder at the number of people who feel they must show the extent of their own knowledge of music and specifically the guitar by negatively commenting on the style of a person who is most certainly one of the greatest interpreters of the guitar of our time ! Bravo Ana Vidovic
In the first place I think this is played with much soul and personallity, in the second place there is no person who allways plays flawless on stage, no Williams and no Ana as well. That doesn't mean that the technique is on a grandmasterlevel. I don't think that minor mistakes are part of the music it is all about intention. On this level players follow their taste. Ana does that with a great technique and musicallity. Those nerds who are interested in mistakes: listen for instance at 12:40 and check the score.
Beautiful Croatia- my wife’s ethnicity is half. Very Spanish, love Maestra’s right hand strokes and planting. Excellent control combined with beautiful phrasing that belies her youth. She actually evokes some technical references to Los Romero’s, but in her own unique way. Definitely one of the best female virtuosos- you go girl!!!
Anna has always been one of my favorite classical players. The prodigy from Croatia is not only beautiful and graceful but she plays some very difficult pieces. This is one of my favorite repertoire pieces by Torroba from Madrid Spain.
Ms Vidovic, you've made me "hear" Moreno-Torroba for the first time ... the possible nuances, the poetry. As a player, I wanted to bring them out from the scores I read. But you have fully realized what I reached for. Thank you for letting me hear it.
It seems the graceful and talented young lady dealt with an arrogant and condescending man very well indeed. Her playing is just on another level compared to anyone else. Bravo!
Hi there, I love everything that makes Ana Vidovic, is an amazing girl, and it?s impressive how to play her guitar. Congratulationes and Greetings from México.
Quite simply, she is the finest classical guitarist I have ever heard (and I've heard lots.) Her technique is the most fluent I have heard, her command of the instrument absolute, and she has musicianship and artistry unsurpassed in my experience, even by the finest virtuosi. (And if I may digress, she is a beauty, with a superb fashion sense. Note the dress or top in the interview sections. Yeah, I know, I know. Please don't bother coming back at me with a lecture. Beauty is beauty, whether artistic or visual. AND she's a charming, thoughtful young woman.)
The recording is in a rather dry sound environment for the classic guitar. Imagine her playing in a live hall. This gal is very, very good! Having performed the Sonatina some 40 years ago in a masters recital, I know this work inside and out. Ana gets my seal of approval. Sincerely, Former member Milwaukee Classical Guitar Society, Masters of Music Performance, 30 year retired K12 Band & Orchestra Director, current symphonic section bassist, symphony performance librarian.

Ana Vidovic is amazingly talented. I was a guitarrist. Thank you!!! gracias.
Why don't people appreciate the work of individual guitarists for what it is rather than comparing and trying to say that one is better than another for whatever differences they perceive. Ana is one of the many greats in her field . I love the feeling she puts into her playing.
Ana makes very difficult music look easy to play. The effort thats gone in unimaginable but the result as any player will know is truly exceptional,What a talent.Thankyou and please come to England to perform
It is called practice every single day. That is how you remember the pieces. After all you are playing the same thing over and over. I am a classical guitarist as well and this piece is tricky.
Masterful performance, as always! And some interesting harmonies that I haven't heard on any other recordings or arrangements! I'm currently putting together my own arrangement and was wondering if anybody else has heard something similar to how to plays the Fandanguillo here...
I think that your comment if unfair, biased and extremely negative. Ana is, in fact, a world class virtuoso guitarist. Her guitar is a Redgate and has a beautiful sound with magnificent tonal variation and she brings out its rich color pallet. Her right hand technique is superb.
There is no hesitation in her left hand fingering. No matter the distance from position to position nor the contortion of chordal and melodic voicing, she executes flawlessly as if she were one with the guitar.
Well said Mr Chapman! Playing the guitar shouldn't be about playing exactly what you see on a page, it should be about the expression and the deep emotion conveyed through them!

Anna is one of the finest guitarist in the world no doubt, and very humble person.
Ana is just fabulous; I follow her presentations for a years and never have enough !
Beautiful..simply beautiful..any artist able to move people to tears has achieved their goal :-)
wonderful! my favourite composer, and she plays it so dynamically!
Words cannot express!!! You are surely one of the greatest ever!!!
She expresses the music...others just play the notes. I LOVE her!
Masterful! You would make F. Torroba weep with joy! So Beautiful!
Most certainly Ana Vidovic's genius is on display in this recording. Simply stunning skill and technique.... Bravo!

Wonderful music! Anna is a superb guitarist and the tone of her guitar is magnificent.

+Leonard Ericks Agreed, Ana's technique is absolutely flawless.
In the first place I think this is played with much soul and personallity, in the second place there is no person who allways plays flawless on stage, no Williams and no Ana as well. Perfection! Ana is better than I even remembered seeing her in person.
Awesome. Gorgeous. Fantastic compositions and one the best version's .
I love how she uses dynamics. It kind of reminds me of an orchestra how she kind of throws notes away and goes so silent but you feel them.

Heaven lives in your soul.
At times, it seems like the whole world is in her guitar.
Incredible player, great sense of feeling and emotion for the music!
It seems the graceful and talented young lady dealt with an arrogant and condescending man very well indeed. Her playing is just on another level compared to anyone else. Bravo!
I also found the interviewer to be very off putting. Ana, your grace shines through! So beautiful! 🌸💕🌸💕
Inbelievable that musicality that is exposed! Pure joy for te ears!
In the midst of chaos and hate, music like this Anna Vidovic kind of river the melt the angry heart on this world

❤love Torroba ….Love Ana!!!
Excellent! Beautiful playing as well as great technique.
Ana's virtuosity on the Classical Guitar is amazing and watching her beautiful fingera course the fretboard is almost hypnotic,
My inspiration! Lovely
Her love of the music of Torroba finds expression through the exquisite sound of her guitar - no complaints from me !
It doesn't hurt that she is as beautiful as the music itself.

Good to listen you, especially today
Wow ! Ana looks so good in that blue gown.
I think ana is one of very few women that deserve a title of 'Sexy Virtuoso'.
Why don't people appreciate the work of individual guitarists for what it is rather than comparing and trying to say that one is better than another for whatever differences they perceive. Ana is one of the many greats in her field . I love the feeling she puts into her playing.
Miss Ana is easy on the eyes and sumptuous pleasure to the ears. The host is a pain.
