Have a large collection Guitar music + Concertos on CD. Torroba only on RUclips clips, when I had premium and downloaded all available Concertos. Wow, so great!

Torroba at his very best! Dialogos is a simply beautiful composition, perhaps his finest for guitar and orchestra.
Pepe Romeros playing is matchless one of his greatest performances. His coupling with Neville Mariner and the St. Martins orchestra produced the perfect combination. One never tires of repeat listenings of this beautiful record.

I've been a fan Rodrigo, Ponce etc. and the Romero's for years but was not yet aware of Toroba. What a great find!

Segovia was brought to tears hearing this piece.
Especially the part based on Romance de los Pinos which he often played as an encore to his recitals.

While Pepe was playing it? Could you elaborate? It is one of Pepe's most outstanding and sparkling performances.

It saw release on Cassette & LP but never CD.
I contacted phillips classical a number of times asking if they will ever release this and they said no plans.
My cassette tangled and died some years ago and I've searched all over spain for this but just can't get a copy of the recording of this. I love the A Side as well Concierto Iberico . I do hope that also gets a post on youtube Best Wishes Geoff

I scratch my head in wonder at how something this magnificent is accessed a meager 16,000 times over a number of years as the ridiculous nonsense receives countless millions of views in days. I pray for humanity.

Has this recording finally been released on CD? I have the original LP, which I bought in college.

Pepe, like his virtuoso brother Ángel, was best in the guitar-and-orquestra repertoire and here he is particularly brilliant, with his crisp, punchy and powerful tone, cascading scales and arpeggios that make an impeccable performance. He does own this music. His recordings of the Rodrigo concertos are references, among the best if not the best. Ditto the Giuliani and probably all the concertos (including the Villa-Lobos and Castelnuovo-Tedesco). This is his forte and his place in the pantheon is assured.
Pepe, in my view, is less interesting in the solo repertoire - generally conservative and Spanish - even though he has some fine recordings such as the solo Rodrigo album, the Sor sonatas, and of course his Giuliani. Much less successfull in Bach, as I believe, his technique is less fit for contrapuntal playing, and mind you, he recorded a cello and violin suite (including the Chaconne).
He has also recorded many pieces by his father Celedonio - charming, but devoid of deeper musical substance and probably performed only by the family members. Still, with all this in mind, he created his musical personality and played the music he loved best and which he could play best. His musical personality is far less varied than other masters such as Bream, Williams, Yepes, Russell and Barrueco, to speak of guitarrists closer to his generation, but these guitar-and-orchestra recordings will endure and remain difficult to surpass by even the most adept modern players,
