{Codex-DAI} Chronicles of a Forgotten War

This DAI codex entry is found in various places around the Deep Roads during The Descent DLC. We see various paintings around Thedas in DAI depicting Lizard looking men- are these the scaled ones? Or are the scaled ones humans that have drank too much dragon's blood, like Cassandra mentions in tales of her family? Either way, where are they now? Where have they gone? Will they return?

I wonder if this has any connection to the great war in the Brecilian Forest that the spirit of the arcane warrior trapped in the gem was referring to. He mentioned a great war where humans and elves fought against something terrible, like demons or something else.

I highly doubt it. They are in the Deep Roads and the author made no mention of Darkspawn, so it had to be before the First Blight. The Arcane Warrior was above ground.

Man, this leaves me wanting more. What are the Scaled Ones? I hope more is revealed about them in the next DA games.

Awesome more please when I first read this in game I have a theory that the scale ones are the true kossith its just a theory but what if instead of the Kossith becoming more dragony by drinking dragon blood like iron bull theorised the kossith were dragon people and eating and drinking dworven elven and human blood the became more "humanny" like I said its just a theory

What doesn't make sense is how they would become so huge like Qunari are. Maybe the Qunari and the Scaled Ones have a common ancestor in the dragons....or these Scaled Ones came from old gods while the Qunari came from dragons? Aaaagh! Who knows?! XD

I think the Kossith were made by the elven goddess Ghilan’nain.

Definitely need to learn more about these scaled ones. Could these scaled ones be a sub species of the dwarves? A type of dark spawn? Maybe another experiment like the quinari? The ones across the sea? Or something brand new? The story is so intriguing. I would love if these scaled ones were part of the next game. I definitely want to lore more about them about their culture and history.

Interesting. If so, the Scaled Ones would be before the Darkspawn though. The author is a Dwarf in the Deep Roads and makes no mention of Darkspawn.
