4 hours of woodturning in 45 seconds... #woodworking #shorts

Woodturning is a hobby of mine that I thoroughly enjoy! I often design the piece that I am working on as I am shaping it on the lathe, making the final project design different from the last.

what does rubbing the wood shavings while its spinning do?
it burnishes the wood which makes the surface smoother
@@olivergrundtwormjensen9786 thank you mr jensen
@@bang10kthen it would be Olivia. 👍
@@davidjohnson7213thank you mrs Johnson
@@olivergrundtwormjensen9786 wouldn't you just use to old for that? Like sand paper? And really high grit sandpaper?

I keep showing my fella your videos.now he thinks I want him to buy me wooden bowls.i didn't pick the brightest spark to love..😊
So damn beautiful I wish I had the tools and the capability to make wooden bowls THEY ARE MY FAVORITE
i like this video
You do your hollowing from the center out. I usually do outside in. Should I do it center out or your way?
The very centre of the wood 9s not moving so it's more difficult to remove I see a lot of people get rid of the centre first unless they using the tailstock to hold the piece I also start from the outside it works for me 😮
Quality👌🏻
It's like pottery!
Wow this is amazing, I'm really interested in woodworking where can i start learning?
Wow.. The bowl❤
as a woodturner i could SMELL this video iykyk
What your favorite type of wood
I want to take a class someday. Looks fun
Sieht klasse aus
And still I feel weird eating out of a bowl like that. 😅 I always walk past them... admiring the work and wanting to buy one. But then I can't
why not?
Nice job 👍🏼
Is this piece dry or wet?
This piece was just about dry enough to do the whole bowl in one go :)
Can you normally not turn the whole thing in one go? Like you have to do bottom half first then the top?
@@darienhoffmann3989 If a bowl is 'green' (unseasoned) then you typically will get it to a rough bowl shape and then leave it to fully dry for however long (a few months typically, or it can be microwaved/ovened to go faster) before doing the final shaping and passing due to the amount of warping that can happen during that time and its tendency to crack due to this
If it's already seasoned then you can just do it all in a day like this one
Nice
Where do you source your blanks?
Do you guys ever make anything else besides bowls?
nice
What is that metal ring called that you screw onto the wood in the very beginning?
He is the definition of splinters☠️
How to get this material?
Good afternoon, can you tell me what ointments you use to treat the bowl?
good
4 hours…so you took. 3.5 hour break? That’s a 30 min bowl at most.
Super✌️🤓
I need this machine so how can I get this
❤
Hey I made a desk out of wood but it’s sagging. This is a big problem for a lot of people do you have a solution?
there could be well over 20 reasons thats happening. its best to google or post to a woodworking subreddit for advice that may actually work as its really hard to narrow down the reason without pictures and more details
good luck with the desk!

Hello.polly the lathe machine and the belt are borken.thank you.
What is that tool called?
lathe
What is the purpose of rubbing with the wood shavings?
It’s a technique called burnishing, makes the surface of the wood super smooth ready to apply a finish
Good to know. Thank you!
How does it stay on when turned around
When turning the bottom of the bowl, you leave a short 'tenon' or disc on the bottom section so when you turn it around there is a different clamp for the lathe that holds the bowl by that tenon. You start with a plate screwed into the top face because that will be carved away removing the screw holes.
Does he also put nails in the bottom of the bowl when je turns it around?
nope! the reason he makes that little circular thing on the first side is to that his chuck on the lathe can hold the bowl without screws, allowing him to have a whole piece
No leave key in chuck
why do you rub the shavings onto the finish?
It's called burnishing, it helps smoothen and shine.
I need a good way to find center on pieces that aren't round
If its a square piece just draw a line from opposing corners as the where the lines meet is center
There’s a tool called a centre finder you can buy. Google it
Please do not burn it

4 hours? Don’t waste people’s time anymore.

Why wear the dust mask for 4 hours? Looks like you made chips 95% of the time.
And I bet he sells that for over £100!! A ripoff!!
woodworking is a fine and difficult craft that is valuable and always has been valuable. It wasnt untill mass production and outsourcing labor became the norm was the pricing ever an issue. that piece of wood alone could cost well over 30 usd and that doesnt factor it needing up to years of care to even be usable. you cant just pick up any old piece of wood and use it to make a sellable product
Mediocre.
when are you going to post your bowl?
