Welcome to Colorado! I was raised in CA (Sacramento all the way, babyyyyyy) and moved here almost three years ago, you're going to love it :) I'm down by Colorado Springs! Hope to see you at Ren Faire next summer!
I live in Bakersfield, California. I understand what you say about the heat, no real fall, winter or spring, plus the high cost of living in California. Good luck with the house hunt and I’m so sorry about the items that got damaged in the move.
Ooof yeah I’ve felt Bakersfield heat before, it’s no joke. Then again Sac has been absolutely baked the last few summers 😂 Thank you! I’m excited. And honestly the damaged items give me more excuses to thrift once we settle haha 😂
Now that you’re closer, maybe consider visiting the Ohio Renaissance Festival in the future if you can make it!! So excited for you guys on your new adventure!!
@ You and your videos are one of the biggest reasons why/how I discovered my love for the Renn Faire! Ohio’s really is a must-see and they’re always expanding too!
Super happy for you! We just moved from Socal to Pennsylvania with 1 dog, 4 cats, 1 rabbit, and 2 kids. The rabbit was the best of the animal on this trip. It took 5 days of driving and we camped at KOAs. They are pet friendly with some having dog parks in them.
Oh, I am so happy for you! I can not wait for house hunting vids and to see the new house. As someone who moved away from their home state, I know what a big deal that is. It's both scary and exciting. Your new life adventure awaits, ✨️ Yay!
When I saw "We Moved", my brain hoped it was to Colorado. Yes, moving is stressful and a pain in the tookus, but it's also a grand adventure. I'm sorry so many of your things were danaged in the move. Thank you for caring so much about the comfort and safety of your pets. Looking forward to hearing about your journey in Colorado. ❤❤❤
Hehe I think quite a few of you suspected it would be Colorado 😂 but yeah, getting our fur babies here safe and healthy was what I was most worried about. But they did good and are adjusting well ❤️
My understanding is that the Colorado Renaissance Fair people do the Renn Faire we go to in New Mexico too. They do a great job! Maybe someday we will see what they do in Colorado
Local Colorado person here. Moved to Arizona and back a few years ago. We also did the trailer thing and it was a lot of work but it was great. Welcome to Colorado!
Yesss! I’m so excited!! It only sprinkled snow a couple times but I’m waiting for real snow which I’ve never experienced as a Sacramentan 😭 - then a REAL autumn!!
@@DressMeUpScottyas a neighboring Nebraskan (and CO ren fair goer! ) just remember you’ll get used to the snow and how to deal/drive in it because the first real winter might be intense at first! Plus you’ll get a chance to wear every sweater you own!
Congrats on making it out of California! I'm in SoCal and i've been wanting to get out for ages. We're in the process of moving right now as well. I hope everything falls perfectly into place for you!
Woah, congrats on the move! Hope the new state and new year treats you well! ✨ I will say, Colorado thrift can be good!! My partner lived near Denver and we had so many fun thrift dates when I visited. You're in for a treat for finding some good spots!
I KNEW IT! I only found your channel a little while ago so I don't even know you but from what you described I was like Yep that's Colorado! I used to live in Littleton. One of my kids was born in Denver! I think you'll be really happy there!
Congratulations on your move, and on getting all your babies there safe and sound! It sounds so stressful but I hope you feel wonderful about your new home!!💖🤍
Thank you! Yeah I was worried sick about them, but they did so good even though they were upset. And they’re doing so good now. The cats are extra cuddly since we arrived 😂
I lived in So Cal almost my whole life and finally 4 months ago i moved to Indiana to be with my boyfriend. We are expecting a winter storm and im so excited. Being in snow is so exciting. So happy for you! Colorado looks gorgeous!
As a fellow Californian I agree, snow is such a novelty as we always had to drive up to ski resorts to experience it. I know there’s a learning curve when you live in it, which we will both probably have to learn about, haha. But the newness of it all is exciting.
Amazing and hard! Hoping the best for you! My family and I just moved today. The winter market got hard for us too, we compromised a little, and then we had a really stressful move day today on our new snowy hill… anyways I’m so glad you get to enjoy seasons! Hope you find a great “forever” house!
As a Sacramentan who did a west coast to east coast move, you will definitely enjoy the variety of seasons Sacramento tends to lack. Enjoy your new journey. Colorado is a beautiful place
Heck yeah girl!!! Congrats. I just moved from California to New Hampshire for the same reasons. NH doesn't have income tax so my we'll feel pennies richer with my husband's job lol.
Wait … NO state income tax?? That’s insane! (amazing) - are the property taxes higher then? That must feel so good though to not see a huge chunk of your check taken out. I know federal taxes are still a thing but every bit helps I’m sure.
Congrats on moving! What an exciting new chapter! We travel to Colorado to visit family every year and are always stunned how absolutely GORGEOUS it is! Those mountains are 👌
Best wishes on y’all’s move and finding the perfect house!!! Hopefully the climate agrees with you and the nature is healing!!! Can’t wait to see your future content!!!💗
Wishing you the best of luck with your home hunt. I'm currently trying to sell my house and buy a new one and it is *stressful* . But I'm so looking forward to your content while you explore and enjoy Colorado 💕
Congratulations on the move!! This is so timely because me and my husband are planning to move from Arizona to a cooler state like Colorado or even Mass (mostly for trans rights protections but also weather) and your perspective was so helpful! Those PODS are nuts!
Congratulations! I hope this move is as wonderful for you as mine was. My husband and I made our big move from Oregon to Alaska for some very similar reasons. There were some trials (cat in a car for 5 days while driving up through Canada, also driving through Canada durning covid), but I feel our move was the best choice we could have made and we are so happy here! So I wish for you to love your new home as much as I love mine.🎉
Hi from Costa Rica! Down here visiting my son. Congrats on the move. Smart to rent while you are house hunting. I’ve moved 9 times(military) and it’s always good to get to know the area first before settling in. Best of luck!
So true! We are enjoying it, getting to know the area and just driving around (it helps that gas prices are lower here lol). 9 times is a lot! You must be an expert at this point 😝
I'm so happy for you ❤ I live in Southern CA & although I love it here I really want to move to a colder state. Hopefully they have some good thrift stores we can virtually tag along 😄
Yeah there’s an appeal to trying something new. It’s so hard, though, leaving where you’re comfortable and even though I’ve wanted to move for so long. I still struggled with those feelings the last week before we left. Now that we’re here and settling, it’s been nice getting to know a new area.
Congrats on the move! Colorado has been something my partner and I talked about in the past but that's as far as we've gotten lol And thank you SO MUCH for breaking down what you did with the creatures - traveling with cats is something that we've been worrying about for a while, so more information about the options and your experiences is helpful.
It is honestly so daunting - I was also so worried. I shall info dump more details for your or anyone else whose readings benefit: For flying, most air lines have the measurement requirements of cabin pet carriers on their website. We found our carriers on Amazon and they had carriers of different measurements, some even listed in the description what airlines they were compliant with. They usually also say the max weight but if your cat is a bit chunkier like our boy, they didn’t weigh him 🤣 (he was one pound over). I’d say if you have a vet prescribe an anti anxiety medicine, go with the liquid. You can have someone hold your cat while you squeeze the dropper in their mouth. We thought they’d eat the chewable since they’re treat loving cats but they knew something was up and refused 😭 Even though southwest didn’t check our vet papers, I’ve read most airlines require a vet certification to fly with their shot records. Idk if it was a fluke southwest didn’t look at them… the lady at the help desk who checked us in with our cats was a little frazzled and ended up not giving me my credit card back after she ran it (I was later informed at the gate they had it). One thing I didn’t mention is, after booking the flight online, you call, at least with southwest, the customer service line to add the pets to your ticket. Then the fee is paid at the check in at the airport. We also got them cat harnesses and leashes since you have to take them out of the carrier at TSA so they can put the carriers on the belt to go through the scanner while you hold them and walk through the people scanner metal detector thing.
Yeah I’ve been able to wear them so much since we’ve gotten here! I love it. And yeah for someone who lived in Cali I owned a lot of cold weather clothes lol. My jackets/coats are also being used more.
Congratulations! I just made the big move from Texas to Colorado for basically all the same reasons (especially the heat😅)hoping y’all enjoy it here as much as I have!
Congrats! I moved from So CA over 20 years ago to NV. Then about three years ago I left NV and am now living in So OR. You will be much better off in CO, especially getting away from the high prices and heat! And do take your time picking out a house. When I moved to OR there wasn’t much to pick from, but it has worked out. Can’t wait to see your new place! 😊
Yeah we are being super picky. We went to look at a few houses today and it really showed us that we gotta take our time and weigh all the options. Our lease is for 6 months so we have time to really get a feel for what we want.
So happy for yall! Colorado sounds like a wonderful place to live. I have always wanted to visit, maybe me and my friends will see you at the faire some day
YAYYYY CONGRATS!! Onto new adventures!! Moving is hard, home buying is the worst, and I can’t imagine home-selling! Glad you’re settled there now. I’ll be there sooooon!
YESSSS welcome to Colorado! My husband is military and we got stationed here in May of last year and we LOVE IT. I honestly never want to leave. We both come from Texas where TRF is our home faire so I’m really excited to go to the ‘Rado faire during the 2025 season 🎉💥 and hopefully freakin meet some people because I still haven’t met a single soul since we have been here because what is outside? 😂 Good luck house hunting! Colorado Springs (if you’re around here) is one of the fastest growing cities in the country right now and there are neighborhoods popping up EVERYWHERE. so good luck on the house hunt, and welcome! ❤🌱✨
Also also- if you’re close enough, check out Manitou Springs!!! People consider it a witch town. It’s such a magical place with many shops to explore. (and some BOMB AF COFFEE SHOPS MY LAWD)
sad to see you leave sactown! although you arent wrong about that whole weather situation lol. wish you well in finding a new place!! look forward to your upcoming content in the new year!
As soon as I saw the title I instantly said COLORADO! I've watched your ren faires! I live in California and YES! It's always so hot I myself cant stand it either! I'm so happy you get to be closer to the things you love doing! I hope I can experience a ren faire someday :3
Haha, we just moved to Idaho from Roseville CA. I am enjoying the cooler weather (heat was an issue for me too) the smaller town vibe & things costing less. We had to sell our house quickly & also sold to a flipper. Renting a house now after living in an extended stay hotel for a month. It was a downsize & we're still getting stuff out of storage & will probably have to keep one for the foreseeable future even tho we purged as much furniture as possible ( lots of books & collectibles take up room when packed) Our dark wood furniture got scratched & gouged but nothing so far is broken. Knock wood. We sedated our dog for the drive & that worked out well. She slept the entire way. This is our 3rd out of state move. It's always stressful.
We were thinking Pueblo, but I grew up in Boulder, and got priced out twice. Loveland looked affordable. I'm so glad you escaped! If you're on the Front Range, DON'T buy anything with picture windows on the west--winds will take them out. Also, don't tell people you're from CA, although being from TX is worse. It will be hot in the summer, but the dry will get you. Dump stuff on your hands every time you get them wet.
Woahhh! Yeah, one of my places I’m thinking about is Colorado! Being from the northeast (near NYC) it gets Hella expensive. I’m glad you’re able to start the process of moving and that your pets are doing well!! Can’t wait for what this new year has to offer!! Stay warm! -Nyx
Yeah if you’re near NYC no wonder it’s so expensive. I’ve visited a few times and for kicks and giggles looked at the real estate prices all up and down the state and surrounding states and sheeeesh. But then again even Sac and other NorCal areas was getting like that with all the SoCal and Bay Area folks moving up. Colorado is nice, depending on the area it can be expensive but there are some nice quaint areas that are more middle ground. You stay warm too! Especially you being up north! 🥶 next week is gonna be freeezing!
I hope everything goes smoothly from this point on and you find your dream home! Having moved from California to Texas and back, and with three cats via car king and three kids, your experience so far seems a breeze lol , but I definitely know the stress and exhausted feelings that go with it! Take good care of yourself😘 Looking forward to further instalments💞
I might after we pick the house move into and show the ones we considered but didn’t choose. Don’t wanna show the listing of the one we do end up choosing so I don’t accidentally dox myself 🤪 but I also considered doing a video looking at Victorian and vintage homes in different cities just for funsies (like dream homes I can’t afford but have cool architecture). Looking at Zillow listings is one of my pass times 🤣
i’m glad you’ll have time to find your ideal place !! rip the moving casualties :’0 i’ve lived in denver my entire life and it has *heavily* changed…but ain’t that just the way lol. extremely emo about the lack of snow here in recent years ;___; been dying to go on a quest to the mountains to touch some bc i go insane in the city. hopefully you’re in a more magical area lol. always love to see the amount of fantasy ppl increase here haha ✨
Lol yeah that was right after we met some people who had just moved here and we didn’t realize it was doable for us. But they referred us to a realtor and we started looking into it right after. And about the snow… it really hasn’t snowed has it?? Since we’ve been here snow fell twice but it didn’t stay. Theres potential for more snow next week but I’m not getting my hopes up lol
CONGRATULATIONS!!! but omg i'm so sorry about all the damage in the move :( that smashed frame made me gasp out loud. colorado sounds like a really good fit for your soul, i can't wait for all the content to come :)
Haha that clip always takes me back to Vine when that one creator made a bunch of variations of that clip “heart eyes mf” - “some fries mf” “supplies mf” 😂 I miss Vine
Oooof yeah Arizona is no joke when it comes to the heat! Sacramento was definitely trying to compete though, we’ve had summers where we had weeks of 110+. But if you’re ever inclined to visit CO in the summer especially around Faire season lmk!
EVERYONE IS MOVING TO CO I SWEAR im trying to cause my friends are there and ... texas just aint the vibe for me lol trying to find something thatll let me live with my 4 cats AND afford is HARD lol
I also know someone from Texas that wants to move here hahaha. There’s a good vibe here for sure. But we also experienced the struggle of finding a place to rent that allows more than two pets and doesn’t charge an arm and a leg for pet rent and deposit. Only reason we were allowed more than 2 was because we are temporary renters. Hope you find something!
It's important to find your bliss. So glad you found a way to make life better for you. Also as someone living in CA, the idea of folks finding their bliss outside of CA is great because we could use millions more making that choice. 40 million people in one state is too many.

Yeah climate change has been hitting Sac hard. But I will miss some things, so I’ll be visiting occasionally.
Congrats on the move! This is amazing for y’all! Looking forward to all the amazing future content!
Thank you! 🙏 ☺️
As soon as I saw the title I instantly said COLORADO! I've watched your ren faires! I live in California and YES! It's always so hot I myself cant stand it either! I'm so happy you get to be closer to the things you love doing! I hope I can experience a ren faire someday :3
I love how many of you guys just knew hehe ❤️ I’m so excited to share the Faire season with you all 🥰
@@DressMeUpScotty I WILL HAVE THE BELL ON! I LOVE WATCHING THEM SO MUCH!
@@MochisWonderlands 🥰
congrats on the move!!
That is a big move! Hope you guys also get settled too and enjoy your new state! ❤️
Stay warm!

Nederland, Colorado is a pretty cool place It's about 1 hour up from Boulder...
Thank you Ruby! And yeah it definitely went pretty well, could have been way worse!
@DressMeUpScotty You're welcome 😊
Would you be able to show us snippets of houses on the market that you are considering? I’d love that! And talk about what you’d do with them.
Stay healthy and happy🧝🏼♀️🧙🏼🧚🏽♂️
❤️
Happy New Year, Scotty! I hope 2025 brings you joy and good health.
hehe i remember when i saw yew at the CO ren faire yew mentioned moving here so i was wondering when it was gonna happen ;p
i’m glad you’ll have time to find your ideal place !! rip the moving casualties :’0 i’ve lived in denver my entire life and it has *heavily* changed…but ain’t that just the way lol. extremely emo about the lack of snow here in recent years ;___; been dying to go on a quest to the mountains to touch some bc i go insane in the city. hopefully you’re in a more magical area lol. always love to see the amount of fantasy ppl increase here haha ✨
I think the thought of all the new thrifting adventures is helping me cope with the loss of that frame 😭 manifesting a new one.
The Doakes clip made me laugh so hard. Congrats on your move! Very excited for more home content :)
Haha that clip always takes me back to Vine when that one creator made a bunch of variations of that clip “heart eyes mf” - “some fries mf” “supplies mf” 😂 I miss Vine
The shirt 10/10
Thanks haha 🤣
Dress me up scotty!! Colorado is the best! Welcome and I hope you love it here!! Thank you for your badass hilarious and awesome content:) Cheers!!
Aww thank you!! I’m excited to be here ☺️
I'll miss the content with Sarah!!
She needs to come visit me so we can make videos and give the people what they want! 😂
I’m new to your channel and I love it so far❤
My first question is actually where'd you get the shrek top cos i need it
Haha, it’s from Hot Topic! 😁
@DressMeUpScotty thank yee
Also good luck with house hunting!
Fantasy creator in AZ here! Id love to collab. And I actually want to move to socal where the heat isn’t as bad as it is here 😅
Oooof yeah Arizona is no joke when it comes to the heat! Sacramento was definitely trying to compete though, we’ve had summers where we had weeks of 110+. But if you’re ever inclined to visit CO in the summer especially around Faire season lmk!
@ you made it sound so fun I’ll definitely have to check out the CO faire!
How fun congrats on the move!! Btw where’d you get that lamp omg 😍😍
The lamp was a hand me down, got it from my cousin when she was decluttering.
Also you are so beautiful!!
Tysm! ❤️
EVERYONE IS MOVING TO CO I SWEAR
im trying to cause my friends are there and ... texas just aint the vibe for me lol
trying to find something thatll let me live with my 4 cats AND afford is HARD lol
I wouldn't live in CA either, I don't blame you for joining the exodus of others running from that state.
I love how people create messes in their own state and then think by moving it solves those problems..yall vote for how the economy runs in your stars
You must be fun at parties.
Ever heard how you shouldn’t assume? Cause it a makes an ass out of u and me 🧐
@ let’s be honest… they probably didn’t even watch the video. They probably just saw the thumbnail, got triggered and jumped on the keyboard 😂
