That second snake eyes game is a great showcase of how certain decks archetypes, or cards can carry the absolute worst players into higher ranks just by being so broken.
'Being carried' doesn't matter once you reach higher levels/ranks. For context, Josh was playing at the start of the season at Diamond V during that game. Like sure your broken deck can carry you through that level, but when you go further and either meet better players playing the mirror or even using lower tiered decks but with high experience on those decks they still will lose

Obviously better players can win more but is it still not a good argument when you see this player who has no idea what any card does and has poor decision making somehow be in masters last season? Or even diamond? You can make whatever argument but at the end of the day, that deck propelled this horrible player into a rank they didnt belong in because of how many one card combos there are in snake eyes. It didn't matter if they ran an incredible amount of bricks when theyre just lucky and snake eyes has 12-13 one card starters that go into full combo.
@@perilousloki4712 You can reach Master V and still go back to diamond V the next season, and any deck can reach master V let alone snake eyes. Theres a reason people who topped/win in a format are the same face, Jesse in Tear format, Josh in Spright format, and Johny Nguyen have multiple tops playing stun. Same goes for MD when people who topped with Branded are always the same person
@@mrsquadbot "it doesn't matter that it carries them because it *only* carries them to the 5th highest rank!" for every game a carried snake-eye player rightfully loses in master V, there are 20 games they wrongfully won to get there, bulldozing through players at the exact same skill level, but that had the gall to play something other than snake-eye. yes, obviously, at higher echelons of play, the deck cannot consistently carry you through to beating someone significantly better than you, but by definition, players in that higher level are not the majority, and that majority are the ones getting blown up in high plat or low/mid diamond by snake-eye yes-click +15 turbo.
@@nico-wj1mhexactly. Reaching masters isnt a simple matter of win one game. No, its a matter of winning 20 some games. I havent had any motivation to get back up into masters because I just refuse to play pure snake eyes. Its so boring. Ive been having fun with blind second salads, spright, and unchained. Going into snake eyes isnt fun at all, it isnt even a case of not being able to win, its just boring. They do one combo, they are incredibly consistent, and have insane resource loops which turns fighting against them a damn slog. The format isnt fun, for the reason that the deck I face the most is linear and boring. Note, i basically only play against three decks. Stun, snake eyes, and mathmech.
That Snake eyes player was truly inspiring. Opened bricked up, misplayed left and right, took a Zeus and so many bursts to the face and still was trying their best. Diabellstar's weakest soldier o7

38:20 I wonder now with the dissemination of information, the level of group think and the higher card availability now if we aren’t more prone to overwhelming tier zero formats than we used to be. Top players and player teams seem to feel they have to play the objective best deck instead of what suits the individual player way more now than what I remember hearing in the past. Snake eye is a very strong and is the best deck no doubt, but it’s nowhere near as overwhelming as previous tier 0 decks to face and as someone who has mostly played Voiceless Voice this format I haven’t felt as disadvantaged into snake eye players, I’d actually rather face them than some rogue out there. Yet it is basically at Tear levels of representation which just doesn’t seem right to me.
That 2nd game of paleo vs snake eyes was the best duel I've seen in a long time. 10/10 entertainment. Keep it up Mr Schmidt!
