Ben compares three popular outdoor LoRaWAN gateways: the Wifx L1, Dragino DLOS8, and RAK 7289.
The Wifx L1 is the most compact of the three and supports basic station. The Dragino DLOS8 is open source and supports ethernet, Wi-Fi, and an optional LTE backhaul. The RAK 7289 is sealed in an IP67 housing and supports ethernet, Wi-Fi, and LTE backhaul. The Wifx L1 costs around 550 euros, the Dragino DLOS8 costs 400 euros, and the RAK 7289 costs 600 euros.

Great video on current hardware, information presented to the point. Currently, I'm looking for a way to establish a point-to-point connection with one of these devices. Which one would be the best recommendation? On both ends, I have an IP network with a PLC controller behind them that needs to be connected via LoRa. Recommendations on a beginner level would be highly appreciated.

Any reason why the Mikrotik gateway wasn't included? Is there any compliance issue with it? I've been developing a solution using the Mikrotik Lora gateway and so far it's been working well. Thanks.

We covered the Mikrotik LTAP in an indoor gateway review here :) As far as we are aware, Mikrotik doesn't make an IP rated outdoor gateway.
