Fireork, when you run on hidden mansion that first cutscene doesn't exist. It's a NG+ of sorts.
That portrait ghost you missed most be VERY forgettable as no-one on the couch reminded you in time (If they are also LM runners) 😂
I love this run, no glitches just minor exploits. It feels natural.
For Linux users: run the following command:
pacmd load-module module-remap-sink sink_name=mono master=$(pacmd list-sinks | grep -m 1 -oP 'name:\s)') channels=2 channel_map=mono,mono
Then, under Audio Settings, choose the remapped audio: this forces audio to be mono instead of stereo. Audio channel will disappear after a reboot.
This game scared me a a kid and I fucking loved it. I miss those days.
Funny, I tend to hold the right side of my headphones off just to hear my surroundings and sound from the video. Literally thought I was losing my mind there for a minute when I put my right side back on.
To fix the audio and you use chrome just get the Audio EQ extension and set it to mono then refresh and you're good to go. I'm sure GDQ will fix this in the future as they usually do after these events.

Just be warned that this addon can cause other sites that play video to break. So, if a video won't play, try disabling the add-on.
I prefer instead to just copy the URL to VLC, which can play RUclips natively. There I set the audio to just one speaker.

The run ended up actually being a 58:17 because of timer issues. Which is still an amazing run for a marathon, grats to HD.

Mario died and his body is somewhere in the mansion that we never find. That's why he can be put in a portrait. When they pull him out, they give him a 1-up that we don't see.
Or, at least, that's my fanwank.

What was his mistake? Isn't Petunia required for the run? What would've he changed to get the WR?
he was supposed to get petunia right after defeating nana. because he forgot, he had to backtrack and lost a lot of time. That being said, the timer was wrong and this wouldn't have been a world record run.

Can somebody tell me why they always use the Japanese version of the game? (This also aplies to Mario 64)
Japanese text is usually faster for almost any game where it's an option

Audience size varies between runs. That, and also there isn't a lot of tech in this game that's obviously impressive to someone who doesn't run the game, so there's not a lot people think they should clap for.

Yeah, the timer was actually running slow so the real time wasn't as close to wr as we thought (it was a low 58). Still an amazing run and the best at a gdq so far, glad you enjoyed
