Jack has taken his career as a SEAL and, upon his retirement, siphoned it into his fiction writing. His books are intense, thrilling, and while there is a sense of adventure they're also deeply rooted in reality. That reality is drawn from Jack's personal experiences with war; the fact that he's intimately familiar with the nature of human conflict shines in his writing.
