I did the turkey deal as well! So many things to do with them. Anytime I can get meat under $1 a pound, I get as much as my freezer will hold.

Kmart had the blue light special years ago it was actually a blue light on a pole and they would move it around the store for special sales I loved it

I don't have to buy for more than myself anymore, at 75...but I am always amazed at how you do it! Of course you give all glory to God. And God had that blue light special happen with you in mind!
And correct me if I'm wrong, which I could be at 75, but didn't you say you came from a small family? You adjusted to being a blessed Mother to such a wonderful large family! I remember (deal on store). I am 39 Ana remember doing grocery shopping with the ladies in my family and them annoying bells going off at the stores during random times lol . Back in the days

That was the great thing about living in a cold climate ! You can leave your meat in the garage ! Minnesota gets super cold so I take advantage f the weather ! Blue light specials were a fun thing in KMart ! You did an awesome job with your grocery shopping ! Prices are crazy , but our gas prices are going down a little . Spending extra money on my budget as we are baking lot of goodies for the celebration of Christmas ! We don’t buy gifts for our grown children, and grandchildren ,we give them cash and they can but what they want and need ! Freeze dried liver for all the dogs as gifts , I have a freeze dryer and use it to add to our food supplies! You take care, and I really love to follow your vlogs! God bless !

Last week we went from 12 to 60 the past few years have been so off that way. I’m glad your gas is going down. I hope ours will soon. Sounds like a great plan for Christmas!

what an incredible deal on the Turkeys!. I live in the UK, out prices are high but so much cheaper than what you have to pay generally. On Christmas eve the fresh turkeys are reduced to simular prices as they always overstock.

Absolutely know the blue light special at Kmart. I remember the lady thst would push the brown box with the pole with the blue light to wherever the blue light special is. I am glad you got the turkeys. I do my big grocery shopping trip on next monday I shop a big shopping trip on monday and then a $100 each week to fill in. My big shop I get all the meats to make the meals for the meal and any bulk items and then i pick up produce, milk, bread, cheese and snack foods on a weekly basis. You did great and got some great deals. Have a great week.

I really like seeing turkeys on sale.
I usually get at least 2 of them.
I let them thaw out and cook them right away.
I use my seal-a-meal to make different packages of them depending on what I'm using them for and write on the package what they are for and what's in each package.

Fantastic find on the turkeys! Oh yeah, I remember the blue light specials.
With those small wraps, you can put some sauce, cheese and pepperoni on top and you have a personal pizza. You can do in a frying pan or in the oven on a cookie sheet to heat up. I would have gotten them turkeys as well! haha Blue light specials was great deals, them days are gone but you found the blue light of the year. Can't wait to see what ya gonna do with them turkeys, so fun, a lot of work but so worth it. Thanks for sharing!!!

Blue light specials were great! I wish we still had k-mart around, i worked there when i was 16 in the women's dept. Was my first real job and was a fun place to work 😊

@@mommabear2many I will tell you a story. Many years ago now my ex husband and left and I was left as a stay at home momma of five. I had never worked outside the home was always a stay at home, homeschooling momma... I was so scared and honestly wasn't sure of what to do... I owned my home praise god and my truck.. again praise god.. I prayed and God led me to start cleaning homes.. I was able to raise my kids on that income and still homeschool them... There was weeks where we only had 20 for groceries.. I was always amazed how god would take that 20 and feed all six of us for weeks... We didn't get help from the government as I owed to much... There were many struggles but over time I built up a nice pantry, gardens, we had milk goats, chickens, meat rabbits.. I exchanged babysitting jobs for the family to raise a pig for me.. I exchanged ironing work for fresh deer meat... Fast forward now I have five grown children. Two are firefighters, two are cnas at a local nursing home and one of those are going to school to be a surgery teck, and one stay at home momma.. we are also blessed with six beautiful grandchildren. I am remarried now to a man who loves my children and grandchildren as his own... God has been in every part of those hard years and these blessed years now..

Egg cups with pepperoni sounds like a total winner, my kiddos would love that. I just got back from our huge shop for three weeks, I loaded up and really got a lot of deals on meat too. I did buy two more turkeys and two more hams. I love chicken thighs so much so I bought a lot of those. I am so very thankful for all that meat in my freezer now. We typically have a harder January with pay periods and it just brings me so much relief knowing that we have several things stocked up. My turkey we $0.60 a pounds. I can't fit all the meat in the freezer and so I have the same idea... I am going to cook some and then package them for soups and casseroles. I am going to pre chop ham for quiche and soup stuff. Slice chicken for roll ups, dice for stir-fry...
This will help me so much 0 of course the money but really with homeschooling and wanting to focus on my kids and family needs. This will bless my family is so many ways. Thanks for encouraging me to do this. You are the reason that my family is saving so much. We are struggling with money but I feel so much better knowing that I have a "stocked" house. I chill out and relax a lot once that I have food. The money is coming from the Lord and totally being worked out by hime.

Just a tip, do you put a date in your Almond Milk. It tastes nice. Little ones have accidents and drop things when learning.

I have absolutely no freezer space but if I saw those tourists I would have bought a few and had it canned up and broth done for that price. I remember the blue light special as well.
I know I called home how much freezer room do I have so I put 6 in my cart. Then I pondered…let’s get 5 more to can 😂

We live 2 hours from this store. I bought 13 6 fit in my freezers. I’m going to can 5 tomorrow. I tried to tell some people here but IDK if anyone will get them.
Have you ever tried ham rollups? Ham with cream cheese spread on it, then pickles,roll them up we put a tooth pick in to hold together but don't have to. Onions asparagus etc can go inside as well

I totally know about blue light specials. I try to find the deals too but they seem to be few and far between here lately. Three tiny bags of groceries (sale and mark downs mostly) and a poinsettia cost me over $80!
I agree in the discounts being less. I was so surprised by the deals I got on this trip! Ive been over budget for 2 months.

Yes I'd certainly buy those turkeys unfortunately I live in the UK and it is an average to pay 50 to hundred dollars if not more for one as we have them at xmas. Lucky you 😊😊😊
WOW!! It used to be the same in Canada we are on the border everyone used to come over stateside and buy there turkeys. But in all honesty if I were to grow and sell turkey's they would cost around $75. Our system is rather fake because all the subsidies.

I just pray to get out of the store without my granddaughter adding another 100 dollars to my cart honestly. She is 8 and has to try everything new to eat or to have. God love her she's my favorite girl in the world. I only have 1 rule if she wants me to buy it she has to eat it.

In your opinion is Sam's Club or BJ's worth it? What are the best things to get?
I think Sams is Bjs if you can get it cheap. BUT we do not have stores like Aldi or Costco here Or discount grocers. I do travel 2 hours for sams BUT ONLY if I have an appointment most doctors and orthodontist are in the city which is here. Eggs, cheese, coconut oil, rice , lunch meat are all VERY worth it! If I buy meat I also buy it there if not homegrown or farmer. Pick a few key things you buy a lot of and check the prices on those items.
I am struggling to get on a budget

We all have different incomes and times in our life where things are good or bad. I think nutrition is very important so we prioritize that.
@@mommabear2manyalso you use wood for heating and that costs a lot of labor but not $$$, and you don’t have air conditioning. So we all prioritize things differently and we all have differing abilities, like I personally could not go out and lumberjacking and fell trees, pretty funny to just think about.
