If they had released the game without deleting the singleplayer, the life of the game would have been longer.

Deleting, you mean it came with single player modes before?

@@Barbaroossathat's the problem with most of the current indie tactical shooters: they are mostly multiplayer with boxed in matches like call of duty. There's a reason why arma 3, swat 4, Stalker mods are still played: bcoz they have a strong singleplayer sandbox design. The only one recent success is Ready or Not with it's great friendly and enemy ai(occasionally aimbot bs). Hoping more devs would focus on a proper single player systems instead of realism, graphics and useless overly tactical gun customizations.

Been playing since 2018 from the very start and it's dying because co-op is unimaginably boring and versus is impossible to enjoy with the playerbase of this game. Every match is going to have a few extremely experienced people carrying their team of new players that don't understand what an objective is and are too busy creaming their pants over a vaguely realistic looking FPS. The game will handhold you with a giant indicator of whether or not you're contesting the point, a generous HUD, and your character constantly screaming in your ear over how the objective is getting contested, and half of your team is STILL just going to be prone somewhere doing nothing (this applies to any gamemode, offense or defense).
Versus might still be fun if this game had the playerbase and dedicated devs to bring back competitive mode and matchmaking. Right now it just has as much cohesion as CSGO casual mode.
The game itself is fine, it just has a few issues that coupled with a poor playerbase makes it very easy to get tired of. Unlike other team based games, it has neither the strong mechanics (think of Battlefield 4, Arma, Squad) nor strong community (think of something like TF2) that are necessary to make a team-based FPS actually work.
Oh and also 70% of the time, voice chat is only ever used by new players that are either edgy teens or drunk men who don't have the brainpower for milsims (that's valid tho) but couldn't handle CoD. So they go here instead.

I have a total of 1k+ hours in both insurgency games, your review is spot on.
That "one sided PVP" and people not playing the objective is what killed it for me.
Game does a poor job balancing teams when a group of 5 level 1000+'s enter a game and the game also suck when it comes to explaining the importance of playing objectives.
It's a shame because it's one of the very few games that has realistic weapon recoil and handling.

It's not dead, just in the same state as the first game was back in 2014.

The game is dying because of developers' and publisher's neglect. I don't think they will do anything about it. They'd rather just see it slowly die than to invest money and effort into it at this point.

Nah im sorry my guy but "new stuff" are game modes that already existed they just putting them in an event cycle from time to time. The last major update from last year is the last update the game it'll get. They just milking the sht out of it and until all dead. If you check steam chart the player count is losing about 400 to 200 every month.
