Thanks to "Balanced Books Bates", I checked online and found that I had $45 of unclaimed property in Kentucky and $1,634 in unclaimed property here in Tennessee! Add this to the list of "Most Useful Life Information" that I have learned from this podcast. Keep up the great work Brilliant Bates and crew!

Aaron on the computer: usually pulling up relevant information to the conversation the entire pod (usually helpful, sometimes not)
Dusty on the computer: reads vague headline and then “yeah well you can look it up on your own time”
Love the dichotomy! Keep up the great work folks!

They say there is no such thing as a stupid question, in middle school I asked my social studies teacher how did people create the map layout and how do we know if it’s the correct shape? The dusty picture prank is solid. My dumb friend did that to me, but with little plastic dinosaurs. He hid over 100 in my house. Found them on ceiling fans, in coffee cups, even in the toilet tank. Hilarious…that is until I’m meeting an important client, reach into my suit pocket for a pen only for a blue dinosaur to pop out and land on the table. Only way out was to blame the children I don’t actually have…”kids…am I right??”

You glossed over Leif Erikson a crazy amount, and just riffed on his name. He reached America 500 years before Columbus. That's insane. That's how good the Viking boats and sailors were. They did something 500 years in advance of the next successful attempt. That's roughly the same distance between Columbus' voyage and the 1990s.

Just as I realized what I said a hearty "Hey Bear" rang out from the back. I placed my head on the podium and laughed with tears. The gatherers thought I was just sobbing away. Hey folks, I am a junior in college studying Biology to become a doctor (sorry dusty). In my ecology class we learned about mullerian and batesian mimicry. They are different types of prey defense mechanisms, but the names are very similar. Mullerian mimicry is when one toxic animal mimics the pattern or color of another toxic animal. Batesian mimicry is when one harmless animal mimics the color and pattern of a toxic animal. My mnemonic to differentiate the two types is all thanks to Brian. I just imagine that the BATESian animals are harmless just like ole bates. Thanks bingo for the mnemonic, and thanks guys for providing great entertainment.

My husbands Grandma got a call from my brother-in-law saying “Hey grandma, I’m in jail. Can you send 5000$ to bail me out?” She said “I don’t have any money Mike, I just bought a car.” And hung up. She didn’t tell anyone until my sister-in-law came over two weeks later and she asked if Mike got out of jail. Needless to say it wasn’t really Mike, and he’s never been to jail or in any kind of trouble at all- yet she asked no questions to anyone, not even my husbands parents who live upstairs from her. 😂

I love my husband. He's my best friend and we had a wonderful time.
But traveling with him was exactly like traveling with a cow headed for slaughter. The absolute cluelessness in his eyes that flickered to panic every few minutes. The unbelievable number of zipper pouches on his bag. The need to triple check every single hotel room drawer before we left even though we didn't use them. I'm going to need an emotional support animal next time he tags along just to keep me from completely losing it.

We saw Betelgeuse at his Dry Bar filming. Just saw Aaron at Wiseguys and he absolutely murdered. This just leaves Dusty as our last leg of the Nateland Grand Slam. I guess, technically, we saw everyone when we flew out for the Bridgestone show, but I feel like in order to compete the grand slam you need to see everyone’s full set. I am in my mid-thirties and was just baptized. We had people ranging from 5 years old to a woman in her 80s, all get baptized that day. So, don't be worried about being the adult in a group of kids.

my husband got baptized at 32. The Pastor just kept pouring the water over him like he was washing out the devil. That is our joke. We always say you could see the steam coming off his head. It actually was pretty emotional for a lot of people to see an adult get baptized at the service.

I love what Nate is trying to build, but someone needs to make fun of the logo and name change. Nateland Entertainment was perfect. Nateland Company smells of a marketing student just trying to have a role and convinced Nate it was better. The only way I know it wasn't Aaron's doing is Nate would throw him under the bus immediately. Keep up the good work guys, can't wait to see what it all becomes.

I've seen Nate at the Ryman and Bridgestone... the screens really do make a difference. Both were great, but it's nice being able to see. One time I saw Demetri Martin at the TPAC theater. I was in the very back row, and couldn't see anything so all of his bits where he's drawing something on a poster board were completely lost on me.

The discussion about Beau - spelling and pronunciation reminds me of my late father in law - one year he stated he wanted some more fox fur slippers for Christmas - I couldn't remember buying him fox fur in the past, but thought "he rarely asks for anything specific, so let's get him what he wants!" I began scouring the internet - on the hunt for the ever elusive fox fur slippers - to no avail - fast forward to a few weeks before Christmas and we were walking together through a department store and he said "There they are! The fox fur slippers I want!" - low and behold - they were FAUX (spoken 'foe') FUR!!! and let me tell you - I snatched up those fox fur slippers so quick.... Thanks for making Wednesdays amazing!!!

We saw Nate in Salt Lake City, he was fantastic. He killed it with an off-hand comment about LDS General Conference.

So true about openers matching the main act’s vibe. Saw a comedian with my mom and I was like, she’s a pretty famous, popular comedian and she’s pretty clean. Her opener? Raunchy. It was so awkward to be there with my mom and I was shocked that a pretty clean comic chose a very dirty opener in a pretty conservative town.

Nateland is getting expensive. When I went to buy tickets for my family, I quickly realized I was
in the wrong tax bracket to take my entire family. So, I thought, let's try just the wife and me. With fewer tickets, there must be a better deal. Maybe we could even watch from the broom closet. Nope.
Realizing it must be procrastination on my part because I waited until the last moment, I decided to look into another state. With the prices the way they were, I figured I'd still come out on top by driving or getting a plane ticket and buying cheaper tickets at a show in the future.
To be honest, it doesn't make that much of a difference. Tickets are skyrocketing everywhere. Props to you, though, Bargatze and crew. My wife and I have been watching you for a long time, and to see where you are now is phenomenal. Supply and demand are the name of the game, and the demand is very high right now. Good luck on the tour. We look forward to seeing it on Netflix.

Actually there is a Leaf Phoenix, the brother of River Phoenix, aka Joaquin Phoenix. His siblings were named River, Rain, Liberty, and Summer. For some reason he was given Joaquin, so early in his child acting career he started going by Leaf before changing it back to his birth name. Also, their given last name is Bottom, which sounds more appropriate for Bottom Bates.

RUclips just showed me an advert for big lady bras. Since Nate is so intenet on Nateland branching out beyond entertainment maybe the soon-to-be Nateland Co. can start making branded versions of the Kramer-Kastanza Bro/Manzier?

Hello folks, came late to the podcast and I’m still catching up. I just listen to the episode where Aaron shared his story about the guy in one of his audiences wearing a shirt that said I just pooped. Whatever internet magic that decides what ads I see has now decided I like lowbrow bathroom humor and has given me adds for shirts that say I poop a lot and sorry I’m late my husband was pooping. I couldn’t believe it there’s no way that’s just a coincidence. 😂. They are always listening. Love the show.

My favorite moment of this episode (starting around the 1:21 mark) is from Joe and goes completely unnoticed by the boys. During the discussion of the movie Castaway, Joe comments, “Good volleyball movie,” and no one batted an eye.
Don’t worry Joe, I’m sure a lot of us folks caught it and had a good laugh.

Brian, I as a Nateland refquent factchecker, I was going to let this go, but you meantioned it several times so I am compelled to say something. You said, "Magellan 'almost' made it back to Spain." He died in the Philippines. It's barely over halfway back to Spain and a far cry from "almost." Perhaps a globe would have been a helpful prop for this episode?
You did a great job with all of the other details. Overall your history is a solid B+ this episode.
    I'll go proofread this now.
