You’ve come a long way, baby! I was looking to get into truck camping and I saw the video where you bought your truck and then you and Hannah built the sleeping platform….and the rest is history. I’ve really enjoyed your adventures! You inspired me to by my Toyota Tacoma with canopy, and a 16’ Airstream. I’m just turning 77 this summer and in like the amenities…..shower, toilet, etc. and living in the PNW the shelter from nasty rain storms. Just saying thanks for the inspiration to “keep on truckin’ “ regardless of your age!👍
What up Mav! I’m an insurance adjuster and I’ve been watching you for years now. You inspired me to convert my van into a mobile home/ workspace been saving crazy money. But just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. My family appreciates you
Yes I have a Prevost and I travel doing claims 6 months out of the year and the other 6 months I fly as a contractor 747 Cargo International. Mav is doing it right. I handle Aircraft and Heavy Equipment only. I have plenty of spare time. The Claims pay as much as the Flying. My Pocahontas who is 6'1 and stunning American Indian Beautiful Woman handles the heavy work. LOL
Something big planned, like maybe driving from Panama to Columbia via the Darien Gap? 😜 I have a tip for salmon, if you ever get so much you get tired of it. Put your favorite sauce on it, I like sweet teriyaki, bake it at 350 for 20 minutes then turn the heat down low (120° to 170° F and let it dry out for a day or two until it becomes salmon jerky. I used to be a commercial fisherman and ate lots of salmon. Once we started doing this it became the default choice. I only eat it once or twice a year any other way now. The jerky is good for months and can go at least a week without refrigeration. Thanks for the video Mav!
Love your video's Mav Steve looks great with that new windshield always love seeing where your heading next and what food you shall be fixing up, That was quite the crazy flow that river had gorgeouse area at that though. Your meal deffinantly looked appitizing and healthy. thank's for letting us come along on another awesome adventure , cant wait to see were we will join you next always a joy to watch. Ontario, Canada ,
put salt on the skin of your salmon before you sear it, it’ll keep the skin from sticking to the pan and help it get the crispy!! love the vids my man keep it up 🙌🏼
Best salmon I've ever made so far was cooked on a cast iron Hibachi while camping. Used aluminum foil to create a dual-chamber "oven" to make baked salmon fillet with a sweet Vidalia onion glaze and a steamed vegetable medley. Used a stainless pot over a wood fire to make garlic/basil rice pilaf. Other campers were making hot dogs and hockey-puck frozen hamburgers and looking over with envious eyes.
Been watching you for years brother. I’m more than proud and thank you for your contribution to the outdoors. Keep grinding and Just know you’re invited to the hood cook out if you are ever in VA.
I have a small Jackets for emergency power. I can run my refrigerator with it, so that is good here in Texas with the storms and such. I have a solar panel for recharge. Haven't had to use it so far, but it's comforting to know that it is available. Wearing my Mav Alaska T shirt while watching this. Mav is the son ANYONE would be proud of!
I love Steve. That looked like a perfect day to me. Thnks for taking us along. Fun time and good to see Steve get the new windshield. Beautiful Salmon too. Yummy. Happy about your friend getting his first boat. I have family that live in Michigan on Lake Superior. Haven't been up there for years but the summers on the Lake that was sooo huge it looked like the ocean, were just epic! Lol. I was just blown away with the whole place. We did alot of water skiing and alot of fishing and running through the trails in the woods with all my cousins. We were all in our 20s and just had such fun. When I go to visit we will do a road trip and hit your friend up to take us out. Great video. Keep on doing your thang my friend. Keep on truckin'❤.
A lot of people these days your age cant do many of the simplest things like cook wash up, but here you are catchin and prepping fish shopping and making a meal on the road. Your parents brought you up well, they must be super proud. I assume most parents just give a device or a gaming console to their kids and they dont learn many life skills. its refreshing to see your journeys glad you share them on RUclips.
@Donald Dumas if you are brought up by being taught It's a night and day difference to some of the younger ones I see regularly. I do my best to teach them and steer them in the right direction. jst a tip in cooking 99% of fish, put generous amount of oil, let it heat until you see lil bit smoke, then put the fish in and wait for it to turn golden brown and flip, that way it won't stick to the pan.
Always love your videos Mav. The creeks and rivers really do get crazy in the Spring. Parts of the Keweenaw Peninsula on the shore of Lake Superior got 291 inches of snow this year.
