Dude it was fine and the movie was awesome this videos title was totally wrong because Zombies is one of the best movies that ever came out it. It is so much better Descendant and High School Musical. I did not like this movie. One thing that really made me annoyed is why did they make Addison BECAUSE HER HAIR WAS WHITE?!?!?! IT WOULD'VE BEEN MUCH COOLER IF SHE WAS PART ZOMBIE OR SOMETHING, BUT THE ONLY THING WAS HAIR?!?!?! AND WHY WAS IT A BIG DEAL, WOW HER HAIR IS WHITE, OH MY SO SHOCKING! *sarcasm*

The only good part of this movie is when Bucky is praying to the cheer spirits. It is so funny and I have watched that one scene about 20 times.

i think you explained it pretty well in this video. the movie shows A LOT of potential, and if certain things were changed (4th wall breaking didn't add to the story, Addy's hair reveal, Eliza and Addison relationship) it could've been a lot better.
I also like you pointed out that Bucky saw Zed struggling when he was Zombie trying to eat him, but instead of using this to progress his character, it's wasted in a dream sequence song.
and what was that final act? the cheer dance or smth? so they dance together and all is well? again, wasted potential imo. would've made for a nice plottwist if it was shown that zombies were never bad, and that certain humans have always been controlling them for whatever reason and giving them toxic fluids (idk its a Disney movie). not like it would be that weird since Zed could look/change to a perfectly normal human with his Z band. Maybe let Bucky be the one to find it out, idk.

#Addiza The best part of the film was the football coach.I love how he believed Zed playing on the team would turn his own life around. Finally he would buy a new pair of pants! Also, it may be briefly mentioned that the town council has decided that zombies should be allowed in regular school, but it is not explained. Why did the city council think this was something needed to be done when the mayor of the town was still totally against it?
NemoLowe About the council thing, remember that Principal Lee said “We are thrilled to be forced to have you in our school.”? So maybe a council member actually liked zombies or they made Z-Bands?

Zombies annoys me because of its overwhelming similarities to descendants: the seperation of zombies and people, zombies coming to their school, and them falling in love

Well them being afraid of fire is probably a reference to the classic zombie films like "Night of the living dead" (which is *the* zombie film). In that they discover that zombies are terrified of fire. Idk why Disney just assumed that would be common knowledge for their kid audience though.

I like how they broke the fourth wall by talking to the audience but I still miss the old Disney channel movies like high school musical and I only watched zombie onced.

I think they weren’t inspired by Hamilton but if they actually were I feel like they tried to push Angelica’s personality to Eliza from Zombies, because in the musical Angelica is portrayed as a feminist and rebelious woman, and their lines were also kinda simular, but idk I just hope they weren’t referring to Hamilton in any way

to be honest you can't expect that all DCOM's will be as big as high school musical or camp rock. i like this DCOM because it shows real problems in the world right now like discrimination. the cast has also done a great job, their voices and dance moves are amazing if you ask me. the songs are amazing as well. Maybe you should watch it 10 times more to get the story straight.

I feel like I 100% agree with your points. At first I saw the title and was thinking that you were really about to degrade this movie but all your points are totally right! It’s like they had this awesome idea for a movie and then only had a limited time to make it. They should have made this into a show that way we could have gotten to know everyone, understood characters and motives. This concept has so much potential and wasn’t given adequate time to explore things.
Like I keep saying to everyone the way they did just fine and was one of the best movies ever made here!
So, you are right, they never do say anything about fire. But in the opening cartoon prologue they show a brief scene of a cop fighting off a zombie with fire. I think they did this so they didn't have to address the "shoot them in the brain" motif we see in most zombie films.

Guys you can say you like the Disney video without being rude or mean to her. I do not like this negative side of youtube wish people would just comment in a respectful way.
I tried watching it, but I couldn't even make it through to the first commercial break. The storyline has potential, but I can't help feeling that it would have been SO much better had they not forced it to be a musical. I feel like I could actually enjoy it had they not made it a musical. It really felt like they had the storyline all written out and were like "okay, where can we fit songs in here?" If they had just made it a normal DCOM, it would have been reminiscent of classic DCOMs like Halloweentown or Geek Charming. I just feel like at this point Disney Channel is picking up any musical they can get because their musicals do far better in the ratings than their normal DCOMs do, and for good reason. I just hope that they don't start pushing for mediocre musicals over normal DCOMs just because.
Too bad your loss because the movies so great I watched it so many times and never got bore and I'm so glad they are made a third one right now here!
Okay, so, I know that this is really long, but it's still worth a read. This is just what I have to say about everyone's opinions about the movie not really being that good. Enjoy!
Okay, so, I think that some people are just over-analyzing and overthinking. For starters, I've never had a problem with the characters breaking the fourth wall. In fact, I've actually always been a fan of it. I'm doing a play right now where the characters do that. But anyways, apparently, the reason why some people have a problem with it in this movie is because their explaining things that's already about to happen. For example, when Bucky was cutting people, Addison addressed it right before it happened. Well, this really isn't much of a issue. She just wanted to explain that the cheer competition is coming up, and Bucky just wasn't having it. As for Addison's hair reveal, I'm not gonna lie. It would probably have been really cool had they revealed it later on for more of a dramatic and cool effect, you know? However, if you're already talking to the audience, it wouldn't have made any sense for her not to mention it. She was supposed to tell us, but not everyone else, because it's a secret. Stuck in the Middle is a prime example of this. Harley always tells us secrets that the other characters don't know about yet. Like the movie theater episode in season one. She told us that she didn't finish her project, but not her mom. So, it would have been pretty obvious the way that Addison was acting throughout the movie that the secret had something to do with her hair (e.g. Bucky touching it and saying, "it's best if you don't question things", when Addison was touching her hair and said, "No, I'm the same-est person you've ever met.", and, most of all, when Addison STRAIGHT UP said in "My Year" "As long as I keep this on, oh."). LOL. It just wouldn't have any made sense you guys. It just would have been way too obvious.
And, another thing, the zombies and humans cheering together fixed everything because they did a really great job at it. They were amazing. I watched this movie in class that took place during the 1950s or so, and these black people were performing on stage, and they were amazing. The white people in the crowd didn't wanna admit that they were good, but that sure as heck doesn't mean that they weren't good. So, that's why everyone accepted zombies after the competition, because they worked so well together. Hey, what can I say people know a good show when they see one. LOL.
Now, lets talk about Eliza. She was working on a revolution. So, the fact that she wanted change, but didn't even try, is totally false. She clearly tried when she was gonna sabotage the cheer-leading competition.
And, as for Addison and Eliza's relationship, you guys gotta keep in mind, it's just a movie. They're not gonna have time to explore every little thing that happens even more. Addison even said "We should hang out some time." Eliza's reaction to Addison telling her that she was pretty was due to the fact that no human has clearly ever told her that she was pretty. The concept was that zombies are hideous and ugly and mean. Addison even said this earlier on in the movie. She said that zombies weren't at all what she was taught. In "Stand", she even says, "There's more to life then what we're taught." So, this is clearly the point here. Also, "pretty" was the last thing that Addison, said, so even if everything that I said isn't true, she probably just went off of that. And, the plot twist about them getting together would have been just really AWFUL. It's all about Zed and Addison. Even before the movie, it was shown that the premise is all about them two, and not Addison and Eliza. Zed and Addison are the ones who are supposed to get together, not them.
Anyways, moving on, the villain isn't always gonna change that easy. It takes time and even more progress. I also even doubt that what Bucky sung was in Addison's imagination. He really was going through something: a change. At the cheer competition, Zoey was the last building block that Bucky needed to get up and change.
And, Another thing that I just wanna say is that Zed gave up so easily because it was clear that he wasn't gonna let him on the team. "Showing him what he's got" clearly just doesn't apply here. The coach even said that he didn't care because there was no point in tryouts due to the fact that they lose every season and that he was probably gonna just lose his job. LOL, the coach really was hilarious. But, anyways, that's why he had just gave up that easily, because the coach just didn't care.
And, Zed knew better then to just attack him, in case anyone was thinking that. Zed already knew, throughout the movie, that attacking people would have just made matters way more even worse than they already are. Like, when he didn't fight Bucky when he threatened him in the zombie safe room, when he didn't freak out at the fire during the pep rally, and when he totally STOPPED Eliza from sabotaging the cheer competition. And, just in general during the whole entire movie when everyone just kept on trying him. LOL!
However, despite things that you guys still wander, that's why there are sequels, LOL, to continue the story. So, who knows, maybe Addison and Eliza's friendship will be more explored in the sequel. However, there really isn't that much more to show and tell. Eliza didn't like Addison. They became friends. That's it. LOL! I just don't understand what you want more of.
Furthermore, all of you guys have to understand that not all of the footage is going to be shown into the final cut of the movie. There's just not enough time. However, they did just release the DVD with exclusive bonus footage of all of the deleted scenes. You can see part of some of them on the Disney Channel RUclips Channel. They also did release one after the Disney Now Live Play. That can also be seen on the Disney Channel RUclips Channel. So, maybe those will answer some more of your questions.
All in all, this was an amazing DCOM. And, don't forget, everyone is always entitled to their own opinion. This is just my personal opinion. Zombies is one of my favorite DCOMS, and definitely, an iconic one to me. A lot of people say that it's the new Descendants. But, anyways, I LOVE ZOMBIES!

yeah I agree with you on liking the songs/ soundtrack but mostly someday and the Someday ballad which is very beautiful and romantic, seeming Zed and Addison falling in love showing their feelings for each other I almost cried when I watched it💕. But most of the stuff you said isn't really so good, I really loved Zombies so much, I cannot stoping thinking about it and watching it, but you were right about some of the other stuff.

It looks corny, like I miss the old Disney where it had those fresh ideas that nobody would’ve thought of and everything was so pure and simple. As we got farther into the years, people got tired of people switching bodies and those “awkward” cute scenes, like Disney producers try too much nowadays to resemble the older times. LIKE FIND SOME NEWER IDEAS. But they can do them, no one is stopping them.

The reason they are scared of fire is explained at the very beginning. Basically, when the humans were attacking zombies before they were controlled with the z bands they used fire to kill them. Or hurt them. Which Made them afraid of it. And when they see it they get scared.
I liked the movie sooooooooo much. But I get the reason you don't like it that much. But I liked it. I totally respect your thoughts.
The zombies being afraid of fire thing is from frankenstein’s monster. I see it a lot in zombie books and movies so I didn’t question it.
The hair subplot felt like those Wattpad stories written by 12 years olds where they want the MC to be special and unique si they give her an unnatural haircolor just for the sake of her being special.

I honestly got bored with the movie and I couldn't even finish it. And I agree with you on a lot of the points, the characters just felt really shallow to me. Though the songs are amazing.
Your loss then because it was one of the best movies ever made and I'm 24 and I watched it repeatedly so many times here! And the only characters that were shallow were the Aceys and Bucky but they are supposed to be shallow and everything here!

It would've been cool if the scene in which Addison reveals that she's wearing a wig was a reveal to the audience as well. It would've been great if that happened and then they keep the little clues that she's hiding something like when Bucky motioned towards her hair and hinted she was different. The reveal would've been more powerful if this was the case, and we could go back and look for the little subtle clues.

Ok so the second thing about the whole Fire thing I find it weird it was just Bonzo that was afraid of fire and they all spoke perfect English if I were to make this I’d have Zed and Addison get together because Humans need to tutor the Zombies and The show don’t tell rule Addison teaches Zed over time so he goes for Football but over the tutoring Addison sees Zed just being funny and she realizes not that bad after all
I don’t wanna hate but I haven’t watched it and like now finding out that the characters talk directly to the camera is like going on a personal level with the audience ya know? You know movies and stories are supposed to leave you thinking so I mean like I don’t get why you guys hate that? I personally think it’s a great DCOM and the idea I found out was originally a tv series with other Actors and Actresses called zombies and cheerleaders and I would much rather this cast but that’s besides the point. There are so many plot holes and inconsistencies. I suppose she doesn't love it because of all the things she mentions. I don't think she dislikes it though, she just doesn't love it.
Here's what I've been saying since the beginning, my theory.
Disney knows Kenny Ortega made good movies. Good movies and good rating means money. Since he just made Disney so much money with Descendants, they pushed him to make another movie for more profit, and he experienced burn out. Made a flop. Obviously other people liked it, but it was so generic. I could find over a thousand identical plot lines by people on Wattpad at this movie. It just wasn't good.

The thing with Allison's hair is normal ( sort of ). All you have to do is search it up. My only problem with the white hair Allison has is that it looks like they put no effort into it.. its so clear that its a wig that it's annoying.

I think the reason why the cheerleading solved the problem was because of the fact that cheer is the soul of the town. The football team coach explains this when Zed goes to the tryouts.
Idk why u say that they just threw the cheerleading battle thing w.e is called out of the blew I Hurd them mentioning it a bunch of times and second of all that “stand” song was very good it’s very inspiring u say it’s lacking a lot of things but ur probably just into them old dcom movies which is why u probably don’t like it. You also said that there relationship was out of the blew saying that there feelings weren’t really said but in the movie zed clearly says “I thought she was the one” u wouldn’t say that if u didn’t have feelings for someone. In the movie adds “my hearts razing and my palms are sweaty” I think it was like that. Which is why I also think that they made it clear that she liked zed. But I do agree about Addison’s hair I do think they just threw it in there to make her different. But you can’t forget that this IS A DISNEY MOVIE. So I can think it was very very good for a Disney movie. That’s just my opinion though I’m not trynna hate on yours.

Cait has a video entirely about not preferring "the old" Disney channel. She very much likes what is on it now. And when she says that the relationship isn't hinted at she doesn't mean them individually. Yes it shows that they both like each other, but at no point do they make that known to one another. We the audience can see that Zed likes Addison, and that Addison likes Zed... but they don't have confirmation the likeage is reciprocated. And yeah he says "you're perfect" but it's pretty bold considering they haven't discussed their feelings before.. so yeah it is out of the blue.

My family loved this movie (possibly swayed by the fact that it was filmed in Toronto)!
When I found the Hamilton references when I first watched the movie, I literally cried tears of joy.
Addison does say at the start of movie that she was born with the white hair and even doctors can't explain it, so it's unknown to her and her family why she has that hair, so technically they did give a bit of an answer (no hate btw I love your channel ❤)and the reveal is early so you understand why Addison keeps on fixing her hair, her parents trying to fix her wig and make sure her wig was on right so no one would know her secret and that she was different than others which was not really respected or accepted in the town, the part in 'my year' where she says "dad says I can't go wrong, as long as I keep this on, oh" and touches her hair to reference her wig and how the cheerleaders were pointing out her flaws and calling her different and almost immidiately she grabs/touches her hair anxious they know her secret and tries to make sure her real hair is hidden, how they knew they made an impact was the cheerleaders finally accepted the zombies truly and completely even bucky who hated them with a burning passion and wanted to take them down , and people were cheering them on instead of hating them,then in the final scene when they performed 'bamm' the town finally accepted the zombies and visa versa which you can see by the banner, and lastly zedison was confirmed in their feelings for eachother when Zed asked Addison on a date before they had to go to the game to get ice cream or frozen yogurt (I can't remember which 😂) and Zeds z-band was acting up a member of the cast and crew both confirmed this in interviews about the movie, again no hate to you I just wanted to say that I love your channel so much ❤💕💙

I think they might come out with like books or a Wikipedia page about it. I mean if they could make the movie a little bit more longer they would have time to explain everything. Like the movie the dark crystal. Things happen for no reason it doesn't leave u wanting more it just leaves u confused same exact way on his movie. (you should watch theodd1sout video on the dark crystal he explains it better than I can)
I really love the new movie. I wasn’t expecting it to be any good but then I feel in love with it. I don’t see why people don’t like it
I honestly only watched it because it's Disney Channel and the guy who plays Bucky (Trevor) is I my favourite show (The Next Step) and he's plays a guy called James

@caitlinmckillop in the beginning when addison and zed are narrating the preview, there are scenes where you see humans holding wooden stakes lit with fire so maybe the humans were trying to burn the zombies alive and that's where the fear of fire came from
This is one of my favourite DCOM’s like it had very good actors in like Trevor Trodjman etc and all of the actors were really good and all the songs were amazing and i think they left it on the happy note at the end which means they will be a second one which will probably happen and i think the characters will be explored more especially trevor’s character Bucky i feel like disney needs to explore his character more i loved trevor’s character *i love trevor* and i felt like we needed a character like bucky because he is kinda like a villian and he was very funny aswell but i think they should explore his character but in my opinion this movie was amazing and disney did a very good job.
Agree with all of the points, except Eliza reacting to probably the first compliments she's ever gotten - especially from a human, that was a special moment for her and to me it makes total sense that she reacted the way she did
I agree, it wasn't frustrating or weird for her to react to a compliment about her appearance over her intelligence. Eliza knows she's smart and passionate and capable of great things. But to go through her whole life being feared and thought of by humans as disgusting and hideous, then to hear a human tell her genuinely that she's pretty? Anyone in Eliza's shoes would react the same way. I thought it was a really sweet moment.

Which is your opinion, (to which is your absulute right ^^) but as you can see, people aren't usually that generous with "perfection" opinion. I think you should take into consideration that movies differ in quality of music, themes, character development etc. Therefore, some movies can do some elements better than others. Okay I understand where your coming from completely ! At first I was reluctant to watch this movie because I thought it’d be really bad but I actually ended up liking it
But let me explain some things:
1. The cheerleading thing is so important because that’s like huge thing in the city of Seabrook. It’s talked about CONSTANTLY especially with Addison making the team and her cousin being the star. And the championship actually is talked about prior to the end
2. Addison and Zedd’s relationship isn’t rushed or random at all. They had a lot of cute little moments leading up to the first time that they sing Someday, this makes it clear to the audience that they have some sort of connection/attraction.
3. Although it is never fully explained, it is made known that the zombies are afraid of fire. And to be quite honest I don’t think there needs to be an explanation. BUT I do think that it’s supposed to be a link/reference to original zombie movies because they use fire against the zombies.
It’s like a supernatural Romeo and Juliet it has good themes and messages
1:56 this is what i felt with the whole breaking the fourth wall in the 3 movies. Especially in the third, it gets super annoying and i feel like it's better off without them talking to the audience at all times
In the animation I. The beginning they explain that they’re afraid of fire
They reference the fire in the opening scene. It shows that after the people were turned into zombies the normal people used fire against them. It’s understandable that you missed it though because it was really just a quick clip, I even missed it the first time I watched it. 😊

I actually thought this was gonna be really good. The trailer made me excited. I really did think that this movie had great potential. I thought they had a lot to work with. The white hair, the relationships, the differences between the zombies and humans. I like how the humans live in such a perfect and colorful world and everyone must be the same so that nothing bad happens or so no one feels unsafe. I do think that Addison revealing her hair to Zedd should've been the first time to give an impact. If all of us were to come together and rewrite this movie, it would be really good. 💜🦋🌹🌞

I really didn't care for Zombies, I wasn't hyped when they were promoting it. I only watched it because my friend did and told me it was ok but not that good. I do like *some* songs, and some of the casts acting was good but not all the good but I can look past that. Everything else was just... Idk Disney could have done so much better with the movie.
i loved the dancing, and the song that Zed and Addie sang now i have a crush on Milo (Zed)

When I first watched it, me and my sister loved it and we even said that it was better than descendants. We learnt the songs and dances and all the lines. I was 11 I think. When I look back on it, it really wasn't as good as I had thought in the first place. Descendants and descendants 2 were much better. But now zombies 2 has come out I think z2 is actually much better than zombies and descendants! It explains more and has a much better plot. But I do agree with almost everything that you said about this film. 11 year old me would have come raging to your house to make you change your mind! 😂 😂

Frankenstein's Monster has an established fear of fire in most iterations of his character, but zombies are actually more vulnerable to being frozen typically. Who knows
*watching this after zombies 3 is me wanting to scream "THERE'S A REASON HER HAIR IS LIKE THAT-" and remembering that I'm a time traveler*
Hopefully the plot will be better in the sequel.
The thing that I thought was really sad is that all the songs except one had reprises in the movie where there could have been other potential songs
I have different categories for different movies. This movie is my 4th favorite Disney movie.
I agree with pretty much everything you said.
What bothered me most about the movie was Zed and Addison’s shallow relationship. It comes across as one built solely on the fact that they are both outcasts, which makes it seem more rushed than it was supposed to be. The reason why High School Musical didn’t have this issue was because Troy and Gabriella bonded over the secret love for singing that they happened to share. It’s something they both enjoy, which gives even a little bit to their characters and their chemistry. Also, all the plot holes/unexplained plot conveniences. Why is Addison’s hair white? How did Zed turn human that one time? How!?
I liked a few things about this film too. Like you said, all the scenes with the football coach were hilarious. Very well done. I honestly hate the rap in this movie more than you could possibly know, but I like most of the music where they’re singing. The music just has this vibe to it that doesn’t make it super catchy, but really pleasant and refreshing. In other words, ‘My Year’ is my favorite, with “Someday” in second place. The choreography was pretty nice too. But realistically, the best character in the movie is Zoe. Let’s be real.
There was a lot of potential here. Especially with Eliza representing historical figures that wanted to get rid of discrimination by force. It was almost there... so close, really. I don’t remember a thing about the song after the zombie attack. At that point, I kind of zoned out a bit. I think that’s why I liked the ending a little more.

When she said that Stand was supposed to be a song of change... there was a change in the song (Addison took her wig off)
