Showing HBK as Peter Faulk almost had me spitting out my drink! LMFAO! The Dusty in the pool at the end with Twin Peaks music and fonts, you guys not only tap the comedy aspect of Pro Wrestling, but you also nail the sub-cultures of the time period. Very quick-witted!

I read your comment and wondered what you could mean, then I saw the clip and laughed out loud myself, Wrestle Me is easiest the funniest wrestling channel on RUclips as English people are just funnier than Americans in my opinion (yes I’m English). Younger viewers (I’m 42) won’t know Peter Faulk had a glass eye which always seemed to change from scene to scene and Shawn Michaels having a damaged eye makes him look like Peter Faulk. There was the joke that when watching Columbo it would take you the first 10 minutes of the show to find out who the killer was and the rest of the show trying to figure out which eye was the glass eye.
I got the HBK/Faulk joke at first glance. Ah, to be Gen-X...
The funniest thing with Marvel threatening a lawsuit over Arachna-Man is that MARVEL PUBLISHED THE WCW COMIC BOOK - which was a surreal read.

Bobby Eaton was the first wrestler I ever met. I went to school with his son. Saw him wrestle live over a dozen times. Sad he passed. Super nice. When I go back and watch his work he was so good in the ring.
I didn't know he died. I liked Bobby Eaton. He was pretty legit.

I'm in georgia. When I was little in the 70's my father owned a large trucking company and some bars I didn't know about....he also looked EXACTLY like Dusty Rhodes except he had brown hair and not blonde....my dad was never home on the weekends because he was running poker games at his bars...but......I thought he was secretly Dusty Rhodes and would leave every weekend to wrestle and dye his hair or wear a wig....I'm 51 now and still think he might have been Dusty

I loved the suit fitting, and Bobby doing the Mask "ssssmokin'!" probably the only time he ever showed any kind of personality on screen. I wish we could have seen more of this from him

I had the pleasure of watching Brad Armstrong wrestle in Birmingham (Alabama)'s Boutwell Auditorium, with his father, Bullet Bob, and brothers Steve and Scott. The Armstrongs were wrestling royalty in the South, far as I'm concerned. Saying that Brad was under-rated is spot on. The guy was so good, I could never understand why they gave him such shit gimmicks. RIP Brad and Bobby Eaton

Brad was a super solid performer and was better off in a tag team, like he was with Tim Horner (UWF tag team champions).
Tim Horner has zero charisma and is a complete jerk outside of the ring.

I remember Arachnaman was the first wrestler I saw when ITV started showing WCW worldwide, late at night. It's on youtube, he had a great little match with Jushin Liger and won! I think Armstrong's problem was everything about him looked generic. He might as well have been called "Chad Protagonist"
He was a solid wrestler, but was just missing something to take him out of the lower card.

poor Brad, he was just saddled with bad gimmick after the next, but as you stated wasn't a bad worker. he was also "B.A" in the dreadful no limit soldiers stable which Master P and a load of other no marks came and went within a few weeks in WCW.
also one of the wrestling channels or yourselves really need to do a review on Grunt! as its still untouched by most of the bigger wrestling channels (i only know of its existence due to the British hip hop band Hijack sampling the part where Adrian Street interviews John Tolos)
I just never understood how WCW could never figure out what to do with him. He was a good looking, agile, muscular guy who could work circles around just about anyone else on the roster, he wasn't a jacked up monster but he wasn't small by any stretch of the imagination either. He was a decent talker judging from his mic work in Alabama & SMW, and even as a rookie in Georgia. I mean, he was at least as good a worker as Steamboat, if not better than him; he should have at least been a U.S. champion and occasional challenger to Flair for the world title.

Saddest thing I've ever seen: I saw Brazo de Plata wrestle in Mexico at some point in the 80s (?) vs a Mexican Spider-Man rip off... one without a mask, because he had already lost it in another previous fight... and who took himself out by jumping between the ropes, getting his leg caught and slamming face first into the apron. He was carried out in a stretcher.
Those terrible gimmicks where all Jim Herd gimmicks.
Corny and Stan left because of Herd as well.

Jim Cornette and Stan Lane didn't leave because of Ole Anderson. They left because of Jim Herd, who was running the company at the time. Cornette has talked about his dislike of Herd on his podcast.
Dislike is putting it mildly. He's said that he was going to insert both thumbs knuckle-deep into Herd's eye sockets if he stayed longer.

There's also a DC comics character called Candyman too... Dunno when that debuted though.

The poor Armstrong sons...always in their Dad's shadow...only Road Dogg was able to escape, and he did that basically by pretending he wasn't an Armstrong. Steve and Brad were great in the ring, but just never popped.
My wrestling name was genuinely Zubaz, so I would have sued him. I trained thirty years after this and never wrestled a match, but I feel that precedent is on my side. I didn't choose my name, but I did choose to wear Zubaz to training, so it serves me right.

So general question... how do you blame Cornette and Lane leaving on Ole Anderson.... when it's Jim Herd who they had the biggest issues with, I mean, that's been extremely well documented.
Further more, Brad Armstrongs run of Buzzkill came in 1999/2000 when Vince Russo went to WCW
Probably because Cornette himself has said that they left because of Anderson.

Ole didn't job them out. Jim Herd didn't like Cornette, due to their clashes during creative meetings. Herd decided to punish Cornette by jobbing out the Midnight Express until they left after Halloween Havoc 1990
It seems as if no one can tolerate Cornette for very long. Can imagine he's a exhausting, pedantic and a pain to work with, despite his enormous brain for the business.
