I think INTP can use it better than INFJ-in faking it because Ti helps find the best way to fake it-and then with a real genuine Fe expression because if you found something finally worthy of your Fe then you will do it as awesomely as you do anything you love to do. Plus since its your 4th slot, appeasing it is like candy:) Any man is fortunate and lucky if they ever get the chance to have an INTP female Fe them up.

It's something I've seen play out in practice too. INTPs can often be quite charming (in a quirky way) and even socially smooth. It just gets more complicated when they're torn between speaking their mind about something they disagree with and maintaining that sense of social harmony. As is usually the case with cognitive functions, they're more about preferences. Those preferences are most evident when choosing between opposing options ~ Nathan

The comparison between tongue-biting to appease others versus speaking out despite the risk of disrupting social harmony totally resonates with me. I've been told I can come across as insensitive because I have a tendency to be brutally honest. In contrast, he'll definitely hold his tongue to spare others' feelings.
We're also different in the ways we view conformity. I see him very much as a people-pleaser, someone who will bend over backwards to accomodate others. I, on the other hand, embrace individuality, unique perspectives, questioning the status-quo. We can talk and debate for hours on end! He hates my tendency to disappear when I need time to myself though, haha.

Thank you for highlighting this underrated mistype! As an INFJ, it's crazy how many times I've been asking myself in certain situations questions like: "Can a person who has Aux Fe be really that socially inept?"; "Do I really understand how Ni and Ne work?" or "Is it even legal for a J-type to be this messy?"
Well, playing in a band with two INTPs helped me to find some certainty in this question... as the band wouldn't have released 80% of its content without me doing what a J-type should do: finish the goddamn track before recording million more interesting demo ideas! Not attacking anyone though, I actually really enjoyed this dynamics; when healthy and balanced, high Ni and Ne users can do magical things while working together.

Ah yes. The bane of my existence. I get triggered by a statement... and I feel compelled to object, or at least question... but then I have to be prepared to debate, discuss and/or educate, which isn't something most people receive positively... and to which circumstances aren't often conducive. Argh. Why... so... DIFFICULT...?!?
... so I TRY to just grit my teeth and grimace through the pain most of the time, and isolate myself from humanity. Few people want to deal with the "real me" and I don't WANT to make the people around me unhappy or distressed. No one wants that. The people who know me well are typically those who enjoy (or at least tolerate) debate and deep dives into esoteric topics, and who aren't easily offended by having their reasoning questioned... which, as it turns out, isn't a lot of people. -- INTP

I’m an INFJ in a relationship with an INTP and I agree with most of the points made here. The only one that threw me was INTPs more comfortable with changing the plan than an INFJ. I think the nature of Ni/Se is flexible and Ti/Si is fixed. As INFJs are constantly refining and comparing, we are more likely to change the course of things or refine/adjust the plan for the best outcome and clarity whereas an INTP is less likely to change things once a decision has been made despite having Ne. INFJs are more comfortable working with and considering new information (via passive Se) than INTPs (with fixed Si).
I think what seems more likely is an INTP is right off the bat more open to considering various options and going with any which option prior to a decision being made which allows them the freedom to choose a different option tomorrow than the option they might have chosen today or in the past. They are flexible UP UNTIL a decision is locked in. Once a decision is made, they exude stress and anxiety in having to change or improvise (where an INFJ might excel). At which point in the decision making process is each type most flexible and willing to change the options or plan?

And I definitely fall into the latter camp, which gives me some confidence I'm not mistyped as an INxP. Whereas for me when something suddenly changes my mind can bog down considering all the possible courses of action and causes for whatever occurred.

When you said "they're both introverts" I said "kind of" thinking about myself :) I love INTPs, they're so easy to get along with, I know quite a lot of them but only ever met one unhealthy one which could be an indication for what a generally balanced and healthy type it is.
I like the "wise advisor" description, this encapsulates the essence of both types and is often connected to their career choices.
But when I get angry, well that's not what you just described :)
Tongue-biting would not be an expression of choice because it implicates that you really want to say something but repress it, I'd say that INFJs (or at least I) can detach from their own views for the sake of the conversation flow and curiosity of the ideas and viewpoints of others. If you listen to what others have to say, you can get more info and when you feel that what they say is wrong, the more you know, the better you can take their fallacies apart - be it aloud or just in your head. Disagreeing on things actually makes great discussions when people respect each other.
And yes, I hate when people set themselves up for failure (and worse - involve me in it) and don't see the implications of their actions. Chaos in the present is even bigger chaos in the future. I think some people may think I'm a control freak (including myself). But control is necessary - and cool ;) Knowing stuff ahead puts a significant weight off your shoulders and you can focus on other, often more interesting things.
Regarding Ni, I even like the inverted tree more :) When someone speaks very windingly, I often think "get to the point". I'll never forget a phone call when someone spoke about this and that for the first 5 minutes and then said: "the reason I'm calling you is actually .....". It's my all time joke. I used to work with someone that could not settle on anything (this was the unhealthy INTP) and our ways parted, it was impossible to work in this manner. Nearly everyone complained about this person's inability to take one clear path and reversing decisions previously made.

Frank James had a pretty good example of the difference between Ne and Ni.
If you ask a person: "how many genres of music are there?"
In the extreme cases, an Ne user will separate out every different kind of Metal, every different kind of Reggaeton as a different genre and so on, finding new potential ideas, and potentially landing on the answer that there are thousands of genres of music.
In the extreme cases, and Ni user will look at what the genres have in common, and bunch them together; and even potentially landing on the answer that there are 5 genres of music, because - broadly speaking - they all fit under certain "main umbrellas".

Great video. It explains the differences very clearly and efficiently. Although I would say since INFJs have a perceiving function first and are balanced on feelings and logic, they won't do something only because it feels good but ALSO a bit because there are logical reasons to do it. It will probably be more the case for an ENFJ though. I get the idea for differentiating both but it might be a reason why an INTP will feel more comfortable with an INFJ rather than with an ENFJ. Great explanation on the opposition between Ni and Ne too. I still don't understand why people struggle so much to understand Ni compared to Ne. I mean everyone can see there are better ways to do something sometimes and some approaches seem unlikely without feeling the need to explain why with logical reasons because it's obvious, so anyone should at least be able to get the process of sticking to a plan when considering all factors. Now the way Ni works concretely is very complicated to understand though cause it takes all sorts of data available in the world to establish connections and it can form entire paths and possible futures. It's even hard for Ni doms themselves to describe it cause it's partially unconscious. The collection of data is so huge it needs to be partially unconscious. I recently understood it's because Ni uses the Se to collect sensory data by observing and then creating very detailed possibilities by connecting data with a recurrent meaning, while Ne uses the Si to remember their sensory experiences and develop an idea in many different directions by using their sensorial memory. Intuition is fascinating, isn't it?

A good way I like to view nise especially as first and fourth slot, se works unconsciously in the fourth slot, it gathers information from everywhere even places it might not have realized. It looks for a common pattern of logic and reference points to view the situation as a whole. Kind of like if you know a statue you can picture each side of it and how each contributes to the total. An example from everyday life is this:
My mom was like hey what’s this white powder on top of the fridge. I look up and see what she’s talking about. That is a weird spot to have powder. My brain immediately says “pancake mix”. Mom asks how I knew that cus I was right” and I just trace back my thoughts and think oh well there are cabinets right about the fridge and we keep mixing bowls up there and even though the pancake mix is in the lazy Susan next to the sink and I remembered making pancakes recently. I can even walk into rooms and know what’s happened the the past 5 min, gotten medical diagnoses correct for myself.
Too bad fourth slot se is hard ime to do things that we aren’t naturally better at (I loved Chem and bio but-failed calc 1 five times. And like you said fourth slot se also needs a solid plan. The moment my plan fell out the window I just freaked out and tried to regain footing 😅
Dang I wrote a lot 😂but now that I’m reading it back maybe ni first and se fourth is similar to chatgpt, grabbing relevant information based on subsets of how information is summarized on a good chunk of sites and what words usually follow what!

    • @kyurei4478
      @kyurei4478 Год назад +3

I think it's so difficult to explain because there are too many connections made from many real-life data that create a cohesive impression. And it can constantly be reinforced by any real-life interaction to the point where you can't keep track of life itself. It's about life observation and recurrent patterns. Also, it can even be about non-tangible things like subtext. Sometimes they can remember precise examples but they've seen the same example like 10 times already so it's not to take as one case but more generally. So it's very hard to communicate to people who don't pay attention a lot to their society or their environment at a general level. It probably explains why there is so much mystery around it indeed. But it's actually not so mysterious. Everyone actually uses it daily from the moment where they say an idea won't work without needing to think about precise logical reasons because their life experience already gives them the intuition an idea is too unpractical and will most likely fail for example.
I actually found an excellent video I recommand to everyone about Ni which is called: "How Introverted Intuition Actually Works", by the channel Think More Deeply and it explains things very clearly with diagrams.

I hope this comment helps (cause ultimately, that is the aim). Having known many INTPs closely, the main difference I have been able to detect in me (compared to them) is my inability to accept norms and therefore struggle with environmental limits. And yes, that Te blindspot comes across easily (at least, in my case). Let’s look at the nicknames of the types - Analyst vs Advocate. Imagine what analysts do. They tend to be more withdrawn in their approach while considering things. Now, imagine an advocate - someone who fights to bring change. In real life, I tend to be very outspoken. Especially in a setting where there are rules to be challenged (or accepted) that influence freedom of expression. My brother’s main goal is reading and seeing how it fits into his framework. He is open to consider other ideas if I offer some and perhaps even change his opinion. My main goal is creating. For it, I need to understand the issue at hand yet not fit anything into an A to B framework. My framework is creating. It is odd in a way. Where others use creativity to let go of things, I use it as a way of finding (and even perfecting) myself. Now, I will give some examples to contrast the overall attitude between these 2. And for that, I will use the last 2 functions of the stack as well as the blindspot. Regardless of the dominant Ni vs Ti, the other functions in the stack have an influence in how the dominant one comes across. If I am working on an idea, isolated from people and the world, I tend to remain quiet, distant and even “unreachable” at times. It is somewhat true for my brother. Though, he spends his time either looking at things on the internet or talking to friends. Actually, he talks to his friends on Discord a lot when he is in his room. When I am in the mode of creating, I become completely isolated. Let’s switch the scenario now. Let’s add people in the mix. Then, I am focused on understanding the person talking and offering sincere feedback (which has often been too direct yet somehow still empathetic). My brother remains quiet. Same thing with a friend I have had. They talk more online than in real life. Online, I have found INTPs who lecture you how they are right and you are wrong (the more stressed version of a type). The unhealthy version of INFJ would burn everything around them. Either metaphorically or literally. And, let’s now look at Ti as third function and Te blindspot for INFJ and Si as third function and Se blindspot for INTP. If someone has Se in their stack and you constantly cross a line, they may punch you. Whether it is by using words or fists, it will still happen. Would an INTP do that? With Se as blindspot, highly unlikely. They will tell you your view is wrong because of Ti and the framework it uses. Si uses interoceptors while Se relies on exteroceptors. Si needs inner( bodily) balance (harmony). Which leads to Fe and the confusing “harmony” nickname. External things are reactive, objective, loud. What it means is that if a problem occurs between people, your ability to interject and sort things out would be higher or lower depending on the position it has in the stack. For INFJ is higher. For INTP is lower. Te blindspot comes with a challenge of accepting rules, norms and authority imposed from the outside. Se as a blindspot comes with a challenge of reacting to things in real time and fast. I am not sure how clear the explanation was. There are a lot of things to be considered here and ideas to be connected before reaching a conclusion and understanding the differences between types and cognitive preference. For those interested in Enneagram, it might help using that system in understanding behavior. In our case, I am social 1 while my brother is self-preserving 9.

I think the confusion is partly because INTPs can be deeply sentimental and poetic, and like most Ns have an incredibly random sense of humour. I knew one once who had a sweet, calm temperament and was often compared to the genteel Gregory Peck. What made him INTP was his nerdy obsession with mathematical theory and his need to hibernate to work on his 'book' to disprove Cantor's Last Theorum. It also took him a long time to finish projects, but I think that's common with most folks getting older.

They both have Fe (which INTP can USE very well, while INFJ cant help it.) They also share Ti, so you can have a conversation with both that includes objective truth. And, because both don’t use Ti as a filter, their conclusions about things are connected to other ideas, so both take time to change their mind when proven wrong about something-needing to internally check with the tangential ideas first-and if Ti is not anchoring that process, they will entertain conspiracy (intp) or falsifiable spiritual things (infj) without running them through the same objective tests that they do for other ideas.
Another difference is that intp will do the absolute least effort needed for things that aren’t their priority, a brilliant resource saving technique-they save mental, physical and emotional energy this way. Infj on the other hand, can not refrain from mental energy being spent-with their thicker skinned emotional coating not helping themselves as much as others-and they often feel a physical strain because of the depth of this mental exertion.
To get to the inside of INTP- demonstrate Ti and Fe and don’t make them do the work of conversation, make them have the fun of calculating and responding. To get the inside of INFJ-Ti and Fe, but you cant get to the things that they have not run thru Ti-their pet ideas like astrology or something that they won’t run through Ti because they want the world to have some magic and mystery--since for both intp and infj-Ti solves the mysteries and leaves both with the reality that the world is more simply understood than most think-and that the real problems people face are usually due to their own inability to adapt Fe and Ti into their lives.

actually, a good hypothesis/theory SHOULD (caps for emphasis) be falsifiable because only then can it actually be "proven" right. Thus, in your context "falsifiable spiritual things" can mean either 1) "spiritual things," as you call them, are, in fact, something that can be discussed/proven as a theory or a hypothesis at the very least; 2) your phrase is an oxymoron because whatever you call "spiritual things" cannot be tested in strictly scientifically, yet, if you refer to them as "falsifiable," then there should be a way to prove them if only by logical reasoning.
But generally, people who use words like "conspiracy" and "spiritual things" in a condescending tone are the ones who already have quite a bit of unwarranted generalizations and assumptions with an implied preponderance for the officially acknowledged "things," and hence could benefit from working on their Ti (if it's in their stack).

    • @ReverendElation
      @ReverendElation Год назад

@@zzc8505 thanks for your comment!! lemme guess, Te user? 1) Falsifiable means able to be proven false- not proven true. And I didn’t want to say specifically what I meant out of respect to others but I was referring to astrology specifically, not spiritual things generally. Though there are many spiritual and philosophical things that can be logically proven false-and there are some that cannot be logically proven true or false one way or the other.
      2) With Fi’s habit of making incorrect “tone” judgments, I would guess you’re intj, but a few different types can attach emotion where none was given. In fact, conspiracy and spiritual things were not condescending, and if you asked or showed either of them my posts you would see they agreed. The issue is, Ti usually waits until it understands to judge something-no need to react on partial information-so an idea called “conspiracy” is not positive or negative-people do conspire, and people make things up, and people can be confused. So, when intuitive thinkers with Ti enjoy conspiracy, it is usually in figuring them out and enjoying the process-not negative at all. And i touched on why infj might enjoy a discovery process like certain spiritual things-but ive found that often discussion of the deepest things to them is like forcing your way into their inner circle-you don’t have a shot, unless you’re already there.
      3) Careful about using the thesaurus with Te-you will choose words that seem emotionally heavy (like preponderance) without using it correctly. (You need strong Ti for the process to happen naturally, but can be learned and strengthened like any cognitive function.) It doesn’t mean the same as superiority exactly, and being specific implies nothing. I was being explicit-stating it clearly-and those who aren’t afraid of objective truth appreciate and respect that. And, avoiding logically fallacious discussion, the Ti user would seek to understand what was meant and not attempt an attack based on someone’s “implied” thing or a “vibe or mood” of it, or the way something was delivered. Thats Fi Te stuff, and its why bold users of such will respond to clear crushings like this with either a polite joke and backing away or a response ignoring their improper usages of words and misunderstandings and attempting another personal diss. And if the latter, begins a deliciously fun series of mic drops that certain NeTi users just can’t pass up. You do better by going for the honey, if you want to stir up the nest, dude.
      4) Ti doesn’t make unwarranted generalizations and assumptions-thats how Ti works-but if you want to know how projection works, your post displays it.
And that too is explained by the cog stack. You being a Te user will not excel in Ti, using it only in your shadow, so you associate it with your familiarity of it-and Te which allows for subjectivity makes you think that anyone speaking with Ti is doing what you do: using words wrong or putting emotion and opinion in, and trying to force a point. And your Fi is naturally skeptical of Fe, because your familiarity is using it in your shadow, and you can’t comprehend someone stating ideas without having their personal feelings and opinions involved. Again, Fe and Ti do this normally, and to us its weird and unhelpful when emotion or opinion are forced into understanding of something that has no emotional implications within itself. So, I imagine these sort of discussions come up with you a lot, where you come out strong but are proven to have made mistakes because you assumed things or thought you found implications. But, Fe and Ti together come off that way to FiTe (its why they fight-they FiTe) because these important opposing functions express and receive info differently-and only recognize the others actions from their own shadow experiences.
The solution to the war between FiTe and FeTi? Niceness and harmony and patience in understanding, asking to learn, then making judgments. Things that FiTe find very hard. 🤪

And I have neither time nor desire to tease it all out. You may benefit from disciplining your Ti to tighten up your logical reasoning and prevent your preconceived notions/biases from affecting your conclusions so conspicuously.
Btw, I don't need a "thesaurus" lol - I am in a research field and I know what "falsifiable" means in regard to theories/hypothesis, as well as some other things you mentioned. (If there is a possibility that something is false, there is a possibility that something can be true -- that's how "falsifiability" works in theories/hypothesis, e.g., you work through possible objections thereby strengthening your theory/hypothesis). Nice try at sarcasm, but you missed it. I'm glad you made this video, as this one's been wrecking my head. My best friend is INFJ, but fits the surface-level stereotypes of an INTP, and is therefore very un-stereotypical of an INFJ. For instance, his dress sense is kind of INTP-slobbish and nerdy, as is his attitude to hair styling. He was always the class maths nerd, and he has a degree in engineering.
But his Fe is very strong. He is absolutely a tongue-biter, unless the situation permits honesty, in which case he can be brutal in his assessments. He will go to superhuman lengths to avoid anything that might be awkward, and is always socially managing the group. If I'm being too loud in a store, or even just standing in the way of people, it kills him inside. Despite his INTP-ish appearance, his house is fairly clean and well organised. When my INTP twin brother is around, the night becomes much more disorganised and rambling, whereas when it's just the two of us (I'm INTJ), things are much more focused and productive -- even if we're just hanging out.
I haven't heard it mentioned, but I think INFJs might have a kind of ISTP mode, much like us INTJs have an ISFP mode. MUCH of what is said of INFJs here also ABSOLUTELY DOES ring true for myself as an INTJ.
being that i was a psychology major in college, i took a GREAT MULTIPLE short-form MBTI inventories throughout my term there and; i mostly (like, 95% of the time) got INTJ but, i also rarely scored as an INTP.
in self-evaluating my own attitude/approach throughout those GREAT MULTIPLE tests, i noted that when i scored more often as an INTJ i had taken a more decisive approach - noting decisively whether i agreed or disagreed with whichever current question/item on the test i was doing.
whereas during the other times when i scored as an INTP i had taken a more open-style and indecisive approach to my answers.
so, i can ONLY imagine that reflects THE MAIN difference between J and P types. J types see a need for certainty (be it positive or negative) in their lives. meanwhile P types MUST like to keep their options open and are more capable of quickly adapting to 'bumps in the road' toward achieving their ideals as they might, by chance, come up.

Great description of what a cognitive function is. People often get them confused with conscious decisions. You are right, cognitive functions are more instinctual and sub-conscious than that. They are what we naturally are and how we are designed to think and behave. We have to consciously fight against the way our cognitive functions work by default when or first instinct would be inappropriate or disadvantageous in a given situation.
The conscious decisions that we make to deal with situations often have a recognizable pattern, but they are not the same thing as our cognitive functions. Sometimes our behavior is in line with our functions, but not always.
I used to test (both self test and by professional personality typers) as an INTJ consistently, but as I get older I now test more like an INFJ. I'm not as driven to achieve some lofty goal as I used to be and have become much more of an intellectual, studying things for the sake of enjoying learning. If I could be a monk studying in a monastery, I think I would.

Like some videos have mentioned about INFJs, it's kind of a struggle to know who we are, so the MBTI results keep changing for me. I've had results all over the place over the past 20 years: INFJ, INFP, ENFJ, INTJ, IS-somethingsomething, and now there's INTP.
Over this past weekend, I've been wondering if what's really been going on is that as I move from place to place, and job to job, I mold myself into what I think the others around me want me to be, for the purposes of survival.
But for the past few years I've been somewhat of a hermit and lone wolf (no friends, no family, no boyfriend, no online companions, no relationships with neighbors), just the bare minimum of interacting with coworkers for the purposes of getting money for rent and food. I did get a cat, though, in 2022.
But in the process of finally getting some decent "alone time," I've slowly been learning more about who I am.
But this video helped clear up the question of INTP vs. INFJ.
I think the problem with the MBTI test I took this weekend is that it was asking questions about what I currently do (some of it is stuffing myself away so that I can survive on Earth and not the real "me", but another problem is that I am 44 and still don't quite know who the real "me" is.
    Perhaps I never will.
But now I'm settling back down into a peaceful internal state, now that the question of INTP vs. INFJ is being settled in my brain.

I still have some difficulty knowing which one I am.
I think I prefer Ni above Ne: I'm always searching for an overall conclusion though I also like to brainstrom and I value nuance. I can also resonate more with the want of control but I feel like I can be quite spontaneous as well (as long as I haven't planned something already).
But I also use Ti a lot, maybe even as much as Ni. I'm much more of a truth teller than someone who holds their tongue. Although I certainly have become a lot more tactful over the years I'm still learning to keep my thoughts to myself as I do really value harmony and I certainly don't want to hurt someone. But Fe takes more energy for me than Ti does and it comes less naturally.
Maybe I'm in a Ni-Ti loop or maybe it's more difficult to type me because I'm autistic, idk anymore.

1:55 usually I hold what I say if I think the person I'm talking to will just be dismissive or talk about bull that they just came up with to defend their opinion over fact; I do hold opinions in a place of value as I love exploring other ideas and hearing other peoples creative insight YET when it is on a serious or universally moral matter(not grey scale but actually thinks like is manipulation bad -yes because you take away other peoples abilities and put them at a disadvantage like a parasite would to it's prey) is related to a process of efficiency that I've already disproven to myself, inhibits my ability to preform a task in the least bothersome way (thorough but to the point so I expend less effort). ... I lost the thread ... I'm in a low level mania because of little sleep and a lot of change.
I'll restate. (again 😅) I hold opinions as important to where I wont dismiss them to be rude. Some things I do NEED to say though for the improvement of the person and my environment. I can hold myself back from explaining things but it builds up over time to a point where I need to unleash my thoughts and analysis. I DID grow up with a lot of people in my family who were super sensitive and I had to tip-toe around so I mostly stayed quiet because I was aware of the annoyance of crackling egg shells caused for me long term. Many unhealthy people so I developed my Fe ... it still makes me uncomfortable to shut up so another person can stay in "poor me" mentality. I get needing help but there is a level of manipulation after you give them every tool they need to dig themselves out.
Fully aware of my ramble train I'll stop there lol bit I hope that wasn't taken the wrong way.

    I thought I was… well, both.
Tests said INFJ, and it seemed right for a while, until it stopped making sense because I valued Ti over Fe.
So, I found INTP to be a much better, overall match. Concluding that I was still an intuitive, I must have gotten the idea of Ni by using Ti and Ne in conjunction…
…until that stopped making sense as well. Primarily it started to seem unlikely when I realized that I had Aphantasia, and that clashed with my concept of Ne. Turns out that I was an ISTP in a Ti/Ni loop. 🤦‍♂️😂
The thing is that I have a close family member who is definitely an INFJ, and that has affected my development so that I behave with high Fe and low Se, with Ti and Ni practically being merged. But I’m coming out of it, doing a lot more Se and it’s rounding me out well.

I think you're most likely still an INTP because another big difference is Ni users are never bored and always have the different things they need to do in mind to accomplish a bigger objective. They can create stories and theories from everything they notice in their environment so it keeps them entertained. They don't feel a need to search for sensory stimulation, but rather intellectual stimulation. That's why Ni users aren't as much concerned with being funny or entertaining for example, while it seems to be a major concern for Ne users. Ni users will seek order to feel at peace instead.

OK, so i like informationall chaos, because i like the feeling of trying to come up with a unique abstraction that would fit all or most of the "branches" and then start another chaos from there and see where it leads, unify them again, lather, rinse, repeat. What kind of intuition is this?
For example, in work situations i like to find common ground in some project data so i can build some abstract model im my head that will help me "feel" the project better. There is a co-worker that always "side-steps" in his head when dealing with uknown situations. I never do this - i only move forward forgetting all the side tracks becoming hyperfocused on my own "true" path
BUT when i do hobbies and projects for fun, drawing or doing other creative stuff - i don't care where it leads. I just like to observe the chaos in my mind and speak it out loud with others to bounce ideas around and see what comes up naturally.
Both situations energize me if they resonate with my inner visions. And both can tire me out if the are forced upon me like a routine or something. Oh, and i hate strategy games

Too many self-ID and self-report, esp. in the current online environment, so that alone will already skew the results significantly. The more accurate info could be obtained from the official certified MBTI tests, but I doubt that the percentage of the population that gets tested like that is significant/large enough to speak of any kind of type distribution tendencies.

mmm the bit about biting tongue for harmony... fine and good when its something very minor and i know saying anything will only start an argument that does not need to happen. however, if its about the relationship, of any sort, then not speaking up sounds like sweeping problems under rug and pretending all is well and wont come back to bite anyone in the ass later. then no. speaking up, biting back and even having an argument is very important. true harmony is good, but i wont touch the fake stuff.
also i think i'm uncomfortable with the word control. because of it sounds like its control over other people, instead of myself. not even control of the situation. its more like control over
being uncomfortable in any situation. the situation is not the issue, its me and my own reactions to it. so i do like to think ahead but mostly so i can put myself in the right headspace to adapt as fast as possible and to instantly be chill and go with the flow no matter what comes. to me all that is internal XD but everytime a vid talks about it, it makes it seam like infjs go around showing all this on the surface, which some maybe are, i dont know. still learning.

True. I got a practically even score between 1w9 and 9w1 even if it was a bit in favor of 1w9 so I'm usually conflicted between taking action or going with the flow and generally speaking INFJs are probably the least susceptible to make decisions among the J types because of the Fe+Ti combo which creates this similarity with the INFP type for example. You might easily confuse an INFJ with a "P" type most of the time to be honest.

I'll just sip my tea (not literally) while they do the dirty work for me. They can even believe that I'm incapable. They can even tell other people that I'm incapable. But sometime down-the-line, maybe months from then, when that problem arises again and I'm the only one who can fix it, I will. Instantly and efficiently. And then everyone will look back and think "wow hes actually that good?"

@Love Who: What do you think your type is? INFJ or INTP? Can INFJs also be like INTPs in being accurate and precise with conversations and choice of words? If I prefer to have a “best” way of doing things, is this more likely INFJ than INTP?

Not a strange type comparison at all... (i am praying that you would do a ENFP and INFJ comparison.....)
Hmm. feels like this video is gearing towards guiding people in self-typing. Sometimes, making such good video... will take away the job of those who want to type people..
Being good at something can be a double edge sword.. hmm.
I have to watch this a few times.....

The definitions for Ni and Ne are incomplete. And mentioning just the branching characteristics of the two doesn't offer enough information for someone to visualize or fully understand the spectrum on which these two functions work.
Ne works on the external, visible reality. It is a function more similar to Se than Ni because of this. Although Ne takes reality very briefly compared to Se and more branched (like in the illustration provided in the video), because it doesn't observe it as it is, but creates quick impressions of the objects and links them together based on function. And here the "creativeness" of Ne comes from.
Whilst Se takes reality as it is, with no additional processing or linking. Fully focused on whatever can be taken in using our sensing organs.
So, Ne is an objective cognitive function, based on observable reality. Where it links external elements based on function. Because of this Ne users can trace back the origins of their insight easily.
Ni is a subjective function, inwardly directed - creating a web of meaning. Therefore its users have a harder time to trace back the origin of insight, as connection points made with it aren't always based on observable, objective reality, or follow a constant criteria in how the connections take place, so they are not as easy to describe in words.
Jung tied Ne to the collective conscious - Ne users being attuned to the outer manifestation of human consciousness, therefore holding understanding of human cultural manifestations and trends, being knowledgeable of subcultures (cultural archetypes/memes).
While Ni being tied to the collective unconscious, therefore being attuned to the unconscious forces that drive humanity and the world of primordial archetypes (those that have been described by Jung).

No, they work differently. INTPs use Ti mostly with Si. In this case they manage to have a better visual representation of certain things in their mind (as they make associations based on sensations more easily). And a quicker, linear logic.
This combined with Ne (outward connections based on function), makes them better adapted to subjects such as mathematics, engineering.
Ni is more focused on meaning. Also it does make wider, more complex connections, but also consumes more energy and takes more time to solidify ideas. Sometimes having to explore one idea on the course of the entire life.

I didn't hear about this name for INTP. Every personality can be more or less philosophical, or philosophize in its own way.
If we were to take Fi and Ti dominants here-
Both INFPs and INTPs have analytical, philosophical thoughts through the lens of their ego dominant function.
Fi and Ti are subjective and creative.
Ti is creative with thoughts and certain systems around them - a thought is projected forward without being based in concrete (empirical) reality.
Fi is creative with the feelings and morality connected to them. And projects feelings without an empirical base.
Then they might make certain projections with them on society through the lens of Ne, which focuses on outside reality. What I said earlier related to collective conscious.
Philosophy has many branches as well. So don't know what exactly you mean by deep thought. Thinking for longer, thinking more expansively? Making better connections related to systems? Being more grounded in reality or having a bigger lens? Related to meaning, society, morality/ethics, beliefs?

      No, this isn't the case.
All extraverted functions are objective, not subjective, therefore not "creative", not in the classical sense of what creative means at least where we project ideas that might not have connection with reality.
Ne is focused on external plane where it makes quick connections like I mentioned, based on function. So it gives the impression of creativity by combining concrete things in ways that that could seem unexpected, depending also on how the other functions worked with Ne.
One good example of this process is the main character from Ghibli studio animation "The Wind Rises", called Jiro Horikoshi, who got inspiration for a new plane design by observing mackerel bones directly.

For you personally it might sound logical. But Ne wasn't defined that way in typology, either by Jung or by the MBTI system.
      -
"Whenever intuition predominates, a peculiar and unmistakable psychology results. Because extraverted intuition is oriented by the object, there is a marked dependence on external situations, but it is altogether different from the dependence of the sensation type."
"Sensation is a hindrance to clear,
      unbiassed, naïve perception; its intrusive sensory stimuli direct attention to the physical surface, to the very things round and beyond which intuition tries to peer. But since extraverted intuition is directed predominantly to objects, it actually comes very close to sensation;
indeed, the expectant attitude to external objects is just as likely to make use of sensation. Hence, if intuition is to function properly, sensation must to a large extent be suppressed. By sensation I mean in this instance the simple and immediate sense-impression understood as a clearly
defined physiological and psychic datum. This must be expressly established beforehand because, if I ask an intuitive how he orients himself, he will speak of things that are almost indistinguishable from sense-impressions. Very often he will even use the word “sensation.” He does have sensations, of course, but he is not guided by them as such; he uses them merely as starting-points for his perceptions. He selects them by unconscious predilection."
      (C. Jung, Psychological Types)
So the only unconscious process taking place in the extraverted intuition is in the process of linking the external objects. Extraverted intuition doesn't have any other internal process or a direct link to the realm of archetypes, such as Ni does. The only internal processes INTP use are Ti and Si.
You could consider being mistyped in any case. Maybe look into ISFP or ISTP.

I was mentioning creativity in relation to the definition of the word used in typology. This is why I felt the need to underline its use in a more accentuated way.
In MBTI typology or in the Jungian definition of the cognitive functions, the introverted functions are considered to be creative or subjective and the extraverted functions as objective or based on the empirical.
If we are to consider creativity in the general sense of the word - There are many types of creativity. Every type has different scopes where their "creativity" is directed. So I wouldn't say there is one most "creative" type. It depends on which type of creativity you take into consideration.
      Related to archetypes-
Ne is linked to cultural archetypes or memes that come out of the collective conscious, while Ni is linked to primordial/basic archetypes coming out of the collective unconscious.
Knowing about primordial archetypes is different from being attuned to them. Same as with an Ni dominant type being able to know things about the conscious manifestations of humanity, or be invested in subcultures. But being informed on something isn't the same as being attuned.
I have no interest in denying you your INTP typing. The only reason I put out the possibility of you being mistyped is your insistence over the general understanding and scope of the functions mentioned.
