It became a little ritual for me to watch this video and listen to Joels beautiful voice right before I go to sleep. Cry a bit about this wonderful game and everything that happened... Thank you so much for uploading the full song, I waited so long for this :)
I believe is one of the kind the only story in game history that make you get si close to the characters and at the end make you cry .. i have a daughter now and now even more make me Cry like a man . ❤
This is a full circle for me. I fell in love with that song because of the game. I couldn't stop thinking about the game and the song for so long. Eventually, I bought a guitar and started learning to play it only for that song. After I succeeded I finally could continue and leave the game behind. Now, this appeared in my recommendation and it makes me so emotional.
I believe that this game has changed the way I think as a human being forever, I can't describe how thankful I am for finding this game and playing it multiple times throughout the years. Thank you, Troy Baker (Jole). Thank you, Ashley Johnson (Ellie). *and* Thank you Neil Druckmann for making this incredible story, even though you broke my heart permanently.
Sometimes I listen to this and it helps me feel a bit at peace for how sad I'd feel. This makes me feel like I'm at home, the blue foggy nights with rain on the roof. The soft music playing to help me relax makes me feel at home. I love that feeling even if I'm sad :)
I'm going to really miss Joel, he has been one of the few characters in anything like this I've really cared about. I was angry at first when I found out he gets killed but after playing through the game I can understand the choices both Ellie and Abby made along their journeys, I don't have to like them but I can understand them. I hope soon people will realise what a great game Part 2 is
*****SLIGHT SPOILERS INCASE SOME HAVENT FINISHED***** It's sad that a lot of people don't understand this. I've only finished it once so far because it still hurts too much rn. Still love the shit out of it tho. It did exactly what ND wanted it to, make us all think

I doubt I will ever experience so much emotion in any media. Will it be movies, will it be games, whatever. I just dont think that I will ever be sad about events of a game after 2 months...
Agreed. This is the only piece of media that actually made feel so much emotion that it was almost overwhelming. Even as a massive Marvel and MCU fan, even Infinity War and Endgame didn't have this effect on me. That definitely says a lot, because although nobody seeing this knows me personally, I am a massive Marvel/MCU fan so me being more emotional about this franchise? Trust me, it says *_a LOT._*
@@timsonss That sucks. People who spoil stuff are the worst. I mean, they also weren't the saddest stories or anything, but I just had a really large connection to them. This song has a special place in my heart, because I moved out of my house in 2019 and haven't been on great terms with my dad. Before I moved away I used to watch my dad play this game for hours. Now that I'm moved away and only rarely get to message him- he always says this is my song. The characters just remind me of us, and the song lyrics just make me sad because of how heartfelt it is
I replay the chapters of this game every day. This is an unforgettable masterpiece and the best video game I've ever played 🙌 it has horror, gore, emotion, motive, and action all bundled up beautifully ❤
I am literally crying over this masterpiece. R.I.P. Joel. I am gonna miss you a lot. This might be the only game that has ever made me feel like this. Feel warm and sad. But its another kind of sadness. The kind that makes you realise that every moment counts. Sad, happy, furious moments... Every moment counts and you should always live it to the edge. Don't waste your live. Live with your family. Family is the only thing that can make you feel pure love. And to tell the truth family is not your parents or your siblings. It's the people you really love and appreciate. The people that can make you feel loved and special among others in the universe. Thats what I wanted to say about this awesome life teaching video game. I will miss them all.
Sign of a great game. Beat it 3 weeks ago. Sold it immediately. Kinda regretting it. But damn. Those clicker sounds gave me goose bumps. Joel’s death was in keeping w the world. Violence. Vengeance. Unexpected. Meaningful to some. Meaningless to others.
My dad had a heart attack years ago. Barely survived. Going through part 1 and 2 of this game literally still has my heart crushed almost to the same feeling when my dad almost died. Such an outstanding game that will always have the closest connection to me.

Lyrics:
If I ever were to lose you
I'd surely lose myself
Everything I have found here
I've not found by myself
Try and sometimes you'll succeed
To make this man of me
All of my stolen missing parts
I've no need for anymore
I believe
And I believe 'cause I can see
Our future days
Days of you and me
Back when I was feeling broken
I focused on a prayer
You came deep as the ocean
It's something something out there here
All the complexities and games
No one wins, but somehow, they still play
All the missing crooked hearts
They may die, but in us they live on
I believe
And I believe 'cause I can see
Our future days
Days of you and me
When hurricanes and cyclones rage
When wind turned dirt to dust
When floods they came or tides they raised ever
Closer became us
All the promises at sundown
I meant them like the rest
All the demons used to come around
I'm grateful now they've left
So persistent in my ways,
Here a angel, lying here to stay
No resistance, no alarms, please this is just too good to be gone
I believe
And I believe 'cause I can see
Our future days
Days of you and me
You and me
It's you and me

This cover is so perfect for the game that when Joel says “All the promises at sundown, I meant them like the rest” the cord goes off pitch. What a missed opportunity to have this song in some part of the actual game, but at least it is here.
Edit: don’t look for it, here is the moment -> 2:30
Joel will be one for the ages, beyond movies, comics, and literature...gaming gave us Joel Miller.
Goodbye Joel.. we will miss you!
Started to play tlou 2 today and i already miss him so much. Always the best charas...
4 months 2 days later, still tear up when I hear the first note... The Last Of Us 2, the masterpiece that broke our hearts ❤
😭
367 days later, still tear up when I hear the first note... The Last Of Us 2, the masterpiece that broke our hearts ❤
Hardly a masterpiece, unfortunately. Rewritten with a little more tact and consistency it may have been
2:06 “When hurricanes and cyclones rage” Joel’s confession to Elle was heartbreaking knowing she could’ve died but he couldn’t lose another daughter a man stuck in the storms of grieving but fights till his last
We miss you Joel
Future Days A Heartbreaking Song😢Joel Miss him so much I'm crying 😭
After a much needed break from this series, your uploads have prepared my soul for a second back to back playthrough of both parts
Endure n Survive
Endure N Survive Indeed
It became a little ritual for me to watch this video and listen to Joels beautiful voice right before I go to sleep. Cry a bit about this wonderful game and everything that happened... Thank you so much for uploading the full song, I waited so long for this :)
no resistace, no alarms, please this is just too good to be gone. Damn it, these music still touching my heart so badly
I believe is one of the kind the only story in game history that make you get si close to the characters and at the end make you cry ..
i have a daughter now and now even more make me Cry like a man .
❤
I never had a father. Joel is the closest thing I’ve ever had to one, good or bad.
Try Kratos
I d k how many times I cried when playing this game
Man this was awsome
Needs "Take On Me" cover by Ellie :( full version
Sometimes I listen to this and it helps me feel a bit at peace for how sad I'd feel.
This makes me feel like I'm at home, the blue foggy nights with rain on the roof. The soft music playing to help me relax makes me feel at home.
I love that feeling even if I'm sad :)
Imagine games like this weren't platform exclusive. Everyone could experience it.
I guess we can all agree that these are the best games ever written; pt 1 & 2.
The feels man
I'm going to really miss Joel, he has been one of the few characters in anything like this I've really cared about. I was angry at first when I found out he gets killed but after playing through the game I can understand the choices both Ellie and Abby made along their journeys, I don't have to like them but I can understand them. I hope soon people will realise what a great game Part 2 is
Exactly
*****SLIGHT SPOILERS INCASE SOME HAVENT FINISHED*****
It's sad that a lot of people don't understand this. I've only finished it once so far because it still hurts too much rn. But I've never in my life had feelings from a game like I did this one. I was so angry at the end (because of the empty house). I want confirmation that Ellie and Dina are happy! Still love the shit out of it tho. It did exactly what ND wanted it to, make us all think
I dont think i can forgive abby for that
But i would like to try
Im glad someone else finally can also understand the choices Abby made throughout the game. I love joel so much but Abby had her reasons. So did Ellie
Sorry, I can't call a game good when its writing is contrived to Hell and back.
This song makes me cry every time I listen it. The Joel voice is so deep...
i just finished playng this game and i dont think ill recover anytime soon
This is when men cry!
No, this is when everybody cries, even my dog
is it just me or am i depressed from joels death
@@KiriColligemee too even after 3 yrs i listen this song once a week and cried 😢
Joel sings Future Days...
Everyone liked that.
Thanks this made me cry again
Whoever did this video, thank you so much for making it. It's so emotional while I'm having withdrawal syndrome even after playing the game twice. Naughty Dog seriously nailed the game. It's on point beyond any games that I've ever played.
No problem :) Endure and Survive!
My mum suddenly and tragically died three days ago. As someone who loves the TLOU series, this song has brought me great comfort. I want to learn it on guitar and play it at her funeral when it happens. ❤️
Honesty guys.. almost choked on my food listening to this, crying. Joel got a second chance to be a dad again. Rebirth at it’s best...❤️
GAME OF THE YEAR!!!
This is the most beautiful story I've came across, I absolutely love this game. Makes me more thankful about things around me
I feel u
A few months after I watched ppl play this game my dad passed away and everytime I watch this video it makes me think of him. I love this game and how it made me feel for Ellie now ik almost exactly how she felt
I'm so sorry for your loss. Please keep finding something to fight for and live your life the best and healthiest way you can in honor of your loved ones memory ❤️
@@DekonTLOUThank u I'm currently working on getting a degree in Graphic Design. My dad always encouraged me to pursue art so I'm doing my best to honor him by getting my degree
Can't believe I posted this 1 yr ago and every once in awhile I find myself coming back here. Not bc I'm in pain but to b comforted knowing this is something my dad would've said if he knew how. I still miss him and when I do I find myself here that's how good this song is
Pov you hear him sing this and it is your second playthrough
I swear
I cant get joel Out of my mind 🥺💔
we in the same boat
that ''G'night kiddo'' at the end... damn i love this game so much
Notice how in the original song, played by pearl jam the last line is "days of you and me" and here the last line by joel is "it's just you and me"
This is not Troy Baker
I think i will never recover from this game and i accept it.
It’s been so long and I’m still not over it
Now only one more beautiful song is left to release the one from TV spot trailer that ellie sings I think it's name is true faith! That one was really beautiful in ellie voice, hope that also releases soon.
We get through the valley on permadeath and this on grounded, maybe if we do permadeath on grounded we get that
Its not actually ashley johnson on the tv spot. Its true faith by lotte kestner. Its a cover and she sounds super similar to ashley johnson. The full song has been out
Caleb Strife no that was sung by Ashley Johnson, the version they covered was the Lotte version
Ok bommer
Joel isn’t really dead, he’s just back at his home in Texas with Sarah, plucking away at his guitar. He’s okay.
@@ElPenguino okay, I got Infinity War and Endgame spoiled, so I didnt really have any emotions there
@@timsonss That sucks. People who spoil stuff are the worst. I mean, they also weren't the saddest stories or anything, but I just had a really large connection to them.
But regardless, trust what I said. This story is the most impactful and emotional media for me, and there are only two games. That's incredible.
@@ElPenguino yes, I feel super lucky that I didnt spoil anything from TLOU 2. If I did the experience would be so much worse. I know what I am talking about, I spoiled Spider Man PS4 And GOW Ps4 like that
@@timsonss Yeah, for sure. I had a little bit of the game spoiled, but it wasn't enough for it to be totally ruined for me luckily.
The best editing I ever seen! Wow you have touched everyone's heart!
This song has a special place in my heart, because I moved out of my house in 2019 and haven't been on great terms with my dad. Before I moved away I used to watch my dad play this game for hours. Now that I'm moved away and only rarely get to message him- he always says this is my song. The characters just remind me of us, and the song lyrics just make me sad because of how heartfelt it is
Make up with your dad while you can.
This Song Hit Me Right In The Soul. RIP Joel Miller.
If you think about it, Joel's angel was Ellie and it was "too good to be gone" 😭
I replay the chapters of this game every day. This is an unforgettable masterpiece and the best video game I've ever played 🙌 it has horror, gore, emotion, motive, and action all bundled up beautifully ❤
This man potentially doomed humanity just to save one girl’s life. Heroic, tragic, cowardly, selfless, and selfish, all at the same time.
That's deep!
Don’t think I’ve ever loved a character so much!
This game, this story, is amazing from start to finish. Tlou/Tlou 2 has a crazy emotional load. A masterpiece
Wish we got an Ashley Johnson version of "The Guardian"
Yes!
I need that
Let's see when someone finishes the game on permadeath+grounded. I hope this or true faith plays
Why hasn't she done that yet? Fans need to start bugging her.
@@deaddropsd1972 It's true. We will miss him😢
This game had me all kinds of emotional. Excellent work Naughty Dog
I have never felt so impacted while playing a game. Its amazing how someone so unreal can feel so touchable separated by just a TV screen...
I cried a lot during this game. 😭. I hated that Joel had to die
This is to this day one of the best games I’ve ever played. I’ve never once loved every second of a game the way I did this one.
We may have lost a character that meant a lot to us... but he will never be forgotten...
Rest. In. Peace. Joel.
Always in our memory
My dad had a heart attack years ago. Barely survived.
Going through part 1 and 2 of this game literally still has my heart crushed almost to the same feeling when my dad almost died. Such an outstanding game that will always have the closest connection to me.
Dude... I can't thank you enough for uploading this full version of the song! 😯
