@Joe Tonner Ill explain anyways, the ending has so many damn factors to it. So ill list most of them. 1. Leaving Abby behind Symbolized many things. - The Ellie we love is still there, she still has some humanity left in her, she is just covered by layers and layers of guilt. Guilt because of what she put Joel through, Guilt because of the memories she couldve created with Joel, and just when she wanted to forgive him, it got taken away from her. - She wanted to leave Joel behind, she wanted to forgive him, and leave him behind even though he is dead. (symbolized by her leaving the guitar behind) - She saw Herself and Joel in Abby and Lev, how Abby rescued lev as soon as she was free showed her how much she cared for him. 2. It isnt a sad ending (partially) Ellie is actually back with Dina, in the final fight between Ellie and Abby, Ellie isnt wearing Dina's bracelet, but when she goes back to the farm, she has healed fingers, she has no weapons, and she is wearing the bracelet. She also doesnt go around screaming for Dina or JJ, she just goes in there to say her goodbyes to Joel. So, many people think that Ellie went back to Jackson, reunited with Dina, then came back to the farm to say her final goodbyes. i think thats all of what i can think of, for now at least. I’m not a hater of the game, but I can definitely see why the majority of people dislike the way they handled the story. But overall the hard work that went into the game on every aspect definitely deserves more appreciation. People can be a bit harsh sometimes.
Exactly. Some people just don’t want something so raw, and hard hitting in their gaming content. To an extent I get it. But he’ll no for us lol that’s why we love it. TLOU2 hits harder than any movie/show I watched in the last DECADE

I get people likemit, but if u sit down and actually think. The game doesnt make sense, 0 personality from characters. And most of all, failed at bringing thr bond between joel and ellie. That is why people hate it. U wait 7 years to just run around with abby like a sidequest.

But to call this game bad or generic or whatever is simply wrong. What exceptional storyline did you expect, please do tell me. There aint a lot of things that haven‘t been done before in movies/shows/games or whatever. I really do believe that understanding and valuing this game in its pure form is something that takes a certain level of raw emotional experience that makes you relate to it in some way or feel it in some way. I can tell you I am not usually a very emotional person but this game has touched me in places I didn‘t even know existed within me. It‘s raw, heartbreaking, bitter, but it is real (in an emotional sense). If you don‘t like it, you are free to have your opinion, just don‘t act like it‘s the general truth.

Damn so good. I have like a theory from the first trailer, when Joel appears I think is his ghost and when he ask ''what are you doing kiddo?'' it's like he doesn't want Ellie to get revenge, he just want her to be alive and happy.
Thank you! Before the game was out, I thought the first trailer could possibly be Ellie imagining Joel there after he died, telling her to think it through. One of the theories I had was that he would be there from time to time, but only in Ellie’s imagination-giving her tips or just being there for her during an incredibly difficult time.

This just shows a fraction of how heart gripping this work of art of a game is. Mad props to mad dog. Playing this on survivor was extremely intense. I felt like I survived the game when I was done lol
I love this game. I don't care about what the RUclips media said, i was on the edge of my seat the entire way through, and even though the pacing wasn't perfect, i love the message of the entire game, which is not ''revenge is bad'' like everyone said, but how to deal with grief and trauma. Good job Naughty Dog!
I honestly think the pacing is fine if I'm honest. Some of the weirder pacing decisions are very deliberately made to accomplish things you couldn't accomplish with a more traditional sacrifice. It comes down to preference but I prefer it the way it is; I think it's more powerful
When I see Joel and Ellie I started to cry so hard, Joel was everything for Ellie but in a second he was dead, I'm crying right now, this is the best game ever seen in my life, is a masterpiece, the music and everything else in the game.

No other fictional characters got me emotional and empathetic as much as Ellie Williams and Joel Miller did, their story is such a master piece, the story progress, character growth and development, graphics, audio effects, dialogue and gameplay made the last of us unforgettable.

And I understand why Ellie had to go but, I still would’ve stayed and try to be happy with the family I had. I don't think she left Dina and JJ actually I think that they all moved on from Joel together because when she got back to the house she didn't have any of her weapons that she had when she went to kill Abby and just had her backpack also she had a Jacket on her which she didn't originally have when she left to them so I think when she came back to the house to see everything gone I think they all packed up and moved together and I think that her walking away from the last thing she had from Joel was her leaving behind her old life and going into her new one with Dina and JJ

What makes people hate this game is what makes it so great for me. The grounded and depressing narrative with flawed characters who’s anger takes control of them but in the end let go of that anger. RIP Joel.

This edit just really makes you think about everything the game represents and it was so beautiful but sad at the same time. Naughty Dog needs to make a part 3 now.
The thing I most love about this game is the graphics and gameplay. I don't know what is trailer, what is cut scene and what is gameplay. The game is so pleasing to play and the story hits harder and harder the more you think about it. This music fitted so well in here, good choice and good skills to edit too.

The thing I most love about this game is the graphics and gameplay. I don't know what is trailer, what is cut scene and what is gameplay. The game is so pleasing to play and the story hits harder and harder the more you think about it. This music fitted so well in here, good choice and good skills to edit too.
