I played 4 and a half hours of this mode, got to gold and got nothing. So I'm hoping its some bug because I don't really want to play comp anymore..
EDIT: Yes, to the ones that commented and who may still be wondering. I had to reach GOLD 2, I can confirm that's how to get the skin.. Phew, the skin is pretty good, not sure 5 and a half hours of work good, but hey, it's free! And with that, I'm not playing anymore Ranked/comp. That was enough racing for me 💀

after you hit gold 2 just enter a regular game and it should give it to you during countdown just got it myself
I finally finished grinding for 5+ hours and got Jackie Outfit. NOTE: You will have to reach *Gold ll* and then complete 1 more race to get the outfit. Hope this helps.

I won 3 matches and I didn’t gain rank because of the “Loading rank taking longer than usual” while waiting for the next match
it always counted for me even if the screen didn’t pop up
just go back to lobby. and look at ur rank from there. it still counts
Its been doing that to me. You still Rank up. It doesn't effect your rank score.
Heads up, Racers: To complete the "Reach Gold rank in Rocket Racing" Quest and unlock the Jackie Outfit, you'll need to complete one race after reaching Gold 2, and not Gold 1 as expected. We will lower the requirement to Gold 1 in a future update.

The official Rocket Racing Status X account confirmed this. However, the team is planning to lower the requirement to Gold 1 in a future patch. The date for that is currently unknown.

im so far 80% in platinum 3. i wonder how many have reached unreal to unlock the next reward/skin. u have to get to that ranking than play another game starting form the ranking and not drop backwards (not sure up the backwards part) but play another race in that ranking

You do rank down. If you get like 8th place or worse than you lose progress

Currently silver 3, will get Gold 1, and stop, I am worried that if I try to get Gold 2, I will lose placement points and go Back to Silver 3, they will eventually lower it nevertheless, so I’ll just wait until they lower it, I don’t want to be wasting 3-4 hours just to rank up once and possibly lose my progress, as Silver 1 gives percentage from 8 and lower, Silver 2 from 7 and lower, Silver 3 from 6 and lower, and Gold from a 5 and lower, so if I somehow want to get Gold 2 I need to get 20 matches where I get too 5 back to back which is impossible because I’ll always com

Ngl this game mode is so fun and easy I’m currently high silver almost gold, and I finished every single match in first place and like 10 seconds ahead lol. I’ve only played for like 30 minutes and was at silver 3. The skin looks good too
