Thanks for the tips, Leth! I’ve got a few questions for you:
1. On festive falls I notice you never go for the shortcut through the waterfall - would you say that’s a trap route and isn’t any faster?
2. Do you think it’s smart to use boost when you’re on a long straight away? Or would that be a waste since most players are moving at faster speeds in those areas anyways so it’s better to focus on drafting
3. After grinding the game, what are your current sentiments towards the game vs when you first started?
4. What’s something you think they should add to the game to make it better?
Can’t wait for creative maps for rocket racing I’m sure you’re going to make some awesome ones!
You lose 1.5 turbos by using the waterfall since you have to use a turbo to make the straightaway worth it + losing the 0.5 turbo you gain around the right side, and there are 3 boosters anyway which keep up a decent speed. Some straights are good to use turbo but if you have a good lead and can save a turbo on early laps you can draft off players to get a slight overall lead. The game is fun! As races get more complicated I'm enjoying it much more
leth! thanks for these videos cause they've really helped me and i'm a few percent from hitting diamond. it's also been nice to see you enjoy the game, i feel there's a lot of people that don't but as bare as it is right now, it's really a lot of fun.
Hey Leth! I really want to give you a really good advice on a tech, if you rocket drift to the opposite way of your current drift, the drift cancels completely and you get the boost of your drift, that way you don't have to wait until the car finishes straightening up to get the boost, or you can use it for abruptly changing directions for another drift/jump/etc while also getting the boost you had. This is specially useful for when either you are on a straight, or you don't have much space or time to make a drift boost, giving the car much more handling when desired, while getting those extra fast boosts on command and further charging the rocket boosts, giving you complete freedom of whether you want to finish your drift boosts.
When trying it out, it really made difference on how races are driven and gave the car much more depth (plus sometimes doing it feels like Crash Team Racing poweslide mechanics FTW), and it would be really cool if you tried this out.

The first racing game I really really got into was rocket team racing nitro fueled! My wires are messed up and I'm failing awesomely in rocket racing because I'm too used to spam the drift lmao, but I'll try to follow your comment :)

Yeah i started making sure i was always second or third till the last few boost corners. Drafting is a little off but hopefully they will fix it to make it more readable.

Thanks for those tips! Definitely need to use drafting to my advantage and work on conserving boost. Hopefully I can get to unreal using those strats. I'm currently 52% champ rank and it's taking forever lol.

UPDATE: I am now in CHAMPION!!!! It’s been a struggle but now I’m one step away from unreal
umm @Lethamyr did you know you can turn off the inverted controls upside down thing in the settings under game tab scroll down under rocket racing and there are like 4 different settings for when the car is upside down :)

I think it was bugged at the time of his video being posted. Often that setting was just being ignored by the game for some reason.
@@arstulex now you can turn it off in settings so it’s the same both ways

I don’t play much, just enough to do my 6 daily challenges, other than sidewinder I try to stack 2 turbos for the final section of the last lap. Slow and steady seems to win me most races, I’m diamond 1

Yoo Leth, if you max out that green bar in some situations it’s way better… in an earlier video you told us it’s not worth it.. but it is man! Take your drafting strategy and combine it with the drift extensions. The greenbar is not only how much speed boost you get. But also the duration of it increases.

Another quick tip, in festive falls, you can fly through the waterfall then boost which is much faster
It isn’t, you lose a turbo and you lose the turbo you would’ve made going the other way losing about 1.5 turbo, also with the boost pads it’s barely faster

Idk if someone noticed this, but if u spam the drifting button u can do a really, really sharp turn, i use that strategy on races like Anaconda and if i don't get a 1°, i don't pass the 3° place.

Leth, PLEASE tell me ur gonna make some custom maps in rocket racing
OK I have no problem with drafting but I do believe it is not fair to the players in first or far ahead because other players using drafting to catch up what's the point of using the best lines and boosting on all laps if again 2 or more players can just draft off each other to catch the leader

yeah unless they nerf drafting you needa be pretty far like at least a second ahead to be safe, it sucks but it could be worse so I haven't complained about it yet too much
although on maps like anacondda its best to get ahed

4:02 I hope they give players penalties for leaving a match. Races usually take 2-4 min only. I think i lose points in 4th when people leave in Champs.
Question: If i do like 30 races in champ and analyze/practice maps i get the most, would that be effective? I noticed that some maps come up more than others.

To use other cars to speed up, you must have a good ping. My ping is between 65 and 70, but everything is different from what I see

idk if it was a pc only thing, but there was an inverted control toggle in my settings.
You can disable to control inversion in the settings
They are currently bugged and reset to default after each race

i use this strategy since the racing game mode came out, I also created a mechanic if you could see it its helpful it's on my youtube channel
i dont really know what you mean by hoping them changing the inverted controls but you can change basically everything about it in the settings. just for your info if you didnt know that already.

Please try Hotwheels Unleashed 2. You'll be surprised by how many elements it has similar to Rocket League. There's a double jump, boost, and air roll mechanics in it and in my opinion the tracks are much better than Rocket Racing
there are settings to change the inverted controls to whatever you like
i remember getting disconnected for 20-25 seconds and still managed to pull up to second to last👍
I know a shortcut sometimes in a turn u can fly around it

the turns on anaconda are pretty sharp. do you have some tips on how to hit tight corners?
You should try and chain boosts on the last 2 curves of each “curve section”
Corner early and Press drift to cancel your first one so you can start the next one properly and keep pressing it to get a sharper turn (like a handbrake)
Love how complex this game actually turned out to be. Hate that my lazy ass brain is too stupid to play like this.
U make this look really easy but believe me, I play this on mobile and it's not fun man. Almost puts me into depression as a guy who has been playing racing games all his life

For a 12 player lobby 3% 1st 2% 2nd 1% 3&4
I’m stuck in elite I keep getting bumped out super wide or hit and gets me killed or hit in the red stuff
