Obviously, these are two different vehicles, but I think this demonstrates the advantage of a high reving petrol off-road. Having the ability to simply hold a gear using play RPM to rev out and get a lot of tyre speed gets things done
Gets things broken as well.
@elliotkane4443 diesels are prone to breaking as they generate low, massive low-end toque

@@alec1202 You're right. The high wheel speed ejects the mud from the tread allowing it to grip again.
Dont forget about tire/traction!
most people hate the tyres im running in the mud. As they clog up and dont clear out on your average 4wd. but they seem to bite pretty good if got the power/wheelspeed to give them a zing
I've got a Mk1 Toyota MR2 tarmac rally car with a full race 4AGE on Jenvey throttle bodies & Omex management, but even it doesn't sound that spicy.

Years later, and I still want to build something that has a suspension setup like this. I am more interested int he suspension than the engine ha ha. Love watching it move around and being able to skip over bumps at high speed. Definitely on the bucket list.

Put a set of 36” super swappers on that rig and then it eat 👌😎. Tires are the limiting factor on that beast .

not too much, other than reverse gear this time. and have broken the center pin in a "lunchbox" locker that used to be in the rear years ago. front diff has aftermarket shafts/cv's and a hi pinion center

@@jul9224 cant really take anymore weight out of it easily. I tired to keep the weight down as much as possible when building it. hence as no bars or other "4wd accessories" even the tray is just a shell with some light tube under it.
