I fell in love with whiskey 3 years ago in large part thanks to you guys. My first glass was Monkey Shoulder (#1 on whiskey for noobs list).
Today I started my job as an assistant distiller at my favorite local distillery, Three Crosses Distilling Company outside of Richmond Virginia.
Thank you for helping me learn the knowledge, skills, and how to have fun with it all. Most importantly tho a little bit of somming and mooching. Cheers.

Funny you speak of antique stores... there are several lining the Main Street in Joseph Oregon where the distillery is at. There is like some impact for them as I donated and you reviewed... I know Daniel and Rex don’t really like but some do such as myself.... thanks again for the reviews... be prepared for another barrage of donations... That is all you Magnificent Bastards!
Poured myself a glass of The Glenlivet Illicit still, sat down and I get the rare whisky Friday notification. 2021 is going better than 2020, still can't work due to lockdown but I feel things are going my way.....
My wife has returned to telling me to get back to work even though my job doesn't currently exist so things must be returning to normal.😄👍

I worked at my old local Walmart through high school and college. When I moved to the 4pm-1am shift (truck unloaders), the managers would occasionally "forget" a few boxes of gatorade near the bay doors for us. It was one of the few times that they seemed to have human souls.
I love the "Titan of Whisk(e)y" animation!!! I never skip past it. I wonder how much time it took to render!

Got my hands on that Komorebi from Xmas special, quite enjoyable. I in fact ordered it on boxing day, and partly forgot about it until it arrived a bit after the new year. So it was like a late gift to myself when it did show up. Thank you Magnificent Bastards for the review.

I love the antique shop smell, but could the MBs suggest a comic book shop whiskey? That wet pulpy woody smell from my youth. Thank you for the great content. P.S. I am from the metro Detroit area and Detroit distillate also did a honey version using honey from bee they have on the roof of the building downtown.

Don't worry, small town middle america is much like a majority of Canada. That antique shop smell is ingrained in many if us.

I used to live near antique row on Broadway in Englewood/ Littleton/Denver. I know that smell. I miss that smell!

If you want another comparison for antique smell. (I have worked at a few) try smelling an old book they smell that way. Leather bound old books smell that way.

Does anyone know anything about Royal Winston Canadian whisky? My wife got me a bottle for Xmas for my collection and I Cannot find ANYTHING about it online and had never heard of it. It’s an 80 proof bottled by oak park. Any help would be appreciated since this one has me stumped.
