I am definitely not one of those people who eats sweetened and condensed milk out of the can or anything. 😬
Me either… not at all… no, that’s not sweetened condensed milk on my chin! 🤣🤣🤣
Nope. I would never do that either, especially if it is chocolate flavored!
@@islandgal500 - Ooh!! Chocolate flavoured!!! 💖😻
@@BlackCatKitchen right? What is this revelation??
@@BlackCatKitchen Stop getting so excited! Remember, we are NOT pathetic enough to eat any before it is in the finished dish. In case we might weaken though, could you work on concocting and testing a chocolate version for us using either melted chocolate or cocoa powder? I'm sure I am not hallucinating when I think that at one time in my life I saw and bought a can of chocolate condensed milk... Thanks.
This is so convenient to know if you're out and in the middle of baking!
Absolutely!!! 🙌💖😻
This is fantastic! I honestly never even thought of making my own or you could even do this! I will be making this thank you so much! ❤️🐈⬛☮️
You are so welcome, Carol! I love making a few batches at once before I start the Christmas baking! Enjoy and happy baking! 😻
Love your pot ! great video BTW
Thank you so much! 💖😻
That's a great recipe to know and come to think of it, my mother made it when I was a wee nipper.
We used to have sweet condensed milk on slices of bread, sprinkled with Hundreds and Thousands. Better known as 'Fairy Bread'
Kids party food.
It was always a treat 🤤👍
Thanks Daniella 😀😻😸
I’ve heard of Fairy Bread, and honestly, that sounds amazing!! I think I’d like your mother 😊
In Japan, they sell the milk in tubes, so you could use as much or as little as you like… problem is I’d squeeze it all into my mouth 🤦🏽♀️
Thanks, as always, John!! Always love hearing from you! ❤️
@@BlackCatKitchen We have the tube too. Great for a bit in the cuppa tea or on a slice of buttered bread.
@@johndavis7944 ooooh!!! I need to get some 🤣🤣🤣
Do you have a recipe for making sweetened condensed milk out of carnation evaporated milk? Thanks great video. Marilyn from Ontario🇨🇦❤️👋
You can use evaporated milk in this recipe! Just skip the first step of cooking, add the sugar in straight away, and keep cooking into its the consistency I show in the video. It probably won’t take as long. But I think you might need two cans of evaporated milk to get enough to equal a whole can of SCM! Thanks, Marilyn! 😻😻
Thank you so much, this is really help since it's quite difficult to find the condensed milk here😃
I'm glad my recipe was helpful! 💖 Thank you so much for watching! 😻
What a brilliant idea Dani. Greetings from Napier New Zealand.🙋♀ 🇳🇿🥝😎
Thank you! 💖💖
Thanks so much for sharing. 👍😋👍♥️🌹
You're so welcome, Cheryl!! 💖🐈⬛😻
Thanks for the idea. I’m lactose intolerance so will it work with lactose free milk? And by the way I love your furry little helper. What a cutie!!
I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve read that people have had a lot of success with coconut or almond milk. Just make sure it’s not light or low fat. And the cooking time might be a bit longer due to more water content! If you try it out, please let me know!
And thanks - that’s my Gordon! He’s such a sleepy boy, and always ends up sleeping in the weirdest positions 😹😻
I have always been one not to like the skin forming on the top, but I am just guessing you don't want to disturb it because it will cool it to a "degree". Milk and sugar together can burn easily as you mentioned. Looks very nice, and to perfection as always. Much better and yes, much more economical! Outstanding!
I saw on the Walmart website that one can was $8!! That's insane! Hopefully this recipe will save someone money, especially if they're doing a lot of baking! 💰😻
@@BlackCatKitchen Yes, that is crazy expensive!
Latte condensatooooooooooooooo!!! haha
Hahaha!! Maple Cooooooook!! ❤️❤️
So, you're saying that my time is only worth $3.50 per hour?
It depends on how you value your time, how costly condensed milk is in your area, and how much baking you plan to do. I was conservative on the 'high' price; I found a can of condensed milk on the Walmart site for $8! That's insane! If you were baking some treats and needed 3 tins of condensed milk, that would be $24! If you want to save money, then this recipe is for you. However, if you have the ability to make money whenever, or you feel that the high cost of condensed milk is a minor inconvenience, then I'd definitely say, buy some from the store! Plus, you can always prep other ingredients in between stirring the condensed milk! 💖😻
