Yes, Wanna Be Myself was a CF song for a clothing brand. It was written & produced by Cosmic Sound & Cosmic Girl, who have done several CF songs with MMM. Imo the chorus borrows heavily from Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. Dingga means fool round and have fun. It's MMM's pandemic song and was intended to cheer us up while we were socially distant, hence the lines about not getting enough Vitamin D and the glitter masks. Aya didn't do well on the k-charts so you're not alone in not liking it very much but I love it. I think the Arabic influence is really derived from Arabian Nights representations of the Middle East such as Disney's Aladdin and the exotic set & costume designs of the Ballets Russes doing Scheherazade. Why they used a distorted, orientalist version of what was originally a work of fiction and played such outlandish characters like Hwasa's dominatrix dentist and Solar's unibrow ghost in the MV for a breakup song would take a long essay to explain but imo it comes down to love being a seductive romance novel we write ourselves and then have a very hard time writing a good ending to because we're both the author and the subject of our own fantasies. Our self-composed romance novel turns into a self-imposed horror story and requires drastic measures to extricate ourselves from. Love, desire and sex are often dangerous, risky business in MMM songs and Aya is a good example. Lol at your comments about Watercolor when you think of the song as the title track of her final solo album under RBW. You think maybe the lyrics express some of her feelings about why she's leaving? Some of the scenes in Where Are We Now are intended to remind us of previous MVs such as Hwasa's Maria and LMM, Starry Night (filmed in New Zealand rather than Jeju Island), and Wind Flower. You're correct that WAWN reflects back on their 7 year journey together. I think it does have the feeling of the end of an era and a goodbye song but fortunately there will be more Mamamoo to come. Imo the spotlights represent moomoos, who are always surrounding them with love & support and raise their spirits just as they lift ours to the heavens. Thank you for this whole Mamamoo journey. Where are we Now is so beautiful but I can only listen to it occasionally. It is so melancholy. Especially having Hwasa and Wheein the middle school freinds who debuted together sing the last two lines "We Shared the same dream, where are we now?". Mu Mu Mu Much is the only OT4 video that come out since WAWN. Several members have mentioned that they are having trouble getting together to plan something with each of them having such a busy individual schedule. I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed for a comeback but nothing is planned yet.
Like some maybe already said Wanna be myself is a CM video for a sport branding clothes named Andar. So lot of those clothes in the video are like sport leggings, sport bra and other sport clothes woman like to wear.

Yes Wheein has moved her Solo work only. If you watched the WAW concert, Solar did a little magic trick with pieces of cloth with words, then pulled out a complete cloth with these word “We’ll always be together on this endless stage.” and it was in English. They wanted to assure MooMoos that Mamamoo is continuing with Wheein apparently forever. I did watch the concert live, I think you can still get the video. Also, another good concert is the 4 Seasons 4 Colors. I did not see it live but the videos of the entire 4+ hours is on youtube
The contract for mamamoo was renewed…. Wheein did not renew her contract for solos and has joined another company. But in theory, they can still do something as a group. Not sure if they have anything planned for this year though. They said not, but people keep starting rumors. When you do I’m a b, also do moonbyul, ‘g999’, ‘shutdown’, ‘chemistry’, and ‘lunatic’. And wheein’s ‘make me happy’ which are all fairly recent.. not sure if you say mumumumuch, but this was after waw. I am not going to be surprised if all four of them release a solo album this year (beyond the one that moonbyul and wheein did in January)
iirc moonbyul said in a recent q&a at her fan meeting that there are no plans for a group comeback this year. and since hwasa's contract will end mid 2023, we might see some kind of farewell release leading up to that in the first half of 2023. After that it is probably up to a moonsun unit release/project as they have contracts until summer of 2024. but of course any group activity is always more than welcome! 💚

Hey, it's been a while, nice video! Love Mamamoo, we'll have a few years of them together at least, with Wheein participating even if by another label. In addition I expect a lot of solo stuff and music collabs. I think Wheein can really become huge. Her solo's so far are great, but not as awesome as she has the potential too. Her parts in Mamamoo songs are always so solid, but Byul rapping, Solar belting and Hwasa being sultry are more noticeable at first glance. If she had her own songs of that same level she could show off any style. I think something like Paint me, I miss you or any of the Immortal Songs ones would really create a breakthrough. Part ballad but building up to some powerful parts. She could also totally slay a cool jazzy chill album, some with the vibe of Decalcomanie some more laid-back like a lot of Brown Eyed Girls songs. And last but not least, catchy songs with powerful choreos could also fit her well.
I hope you continue to follow the individual girls as they go on. I know I am. I also giggled when you had the teaser for Aya at the end of Dingga. I knew you would have it answered.
I love the sound of ‘wanna be myself’ too, wish they released more single with it.. that being said you’ll find this sound A LOT if you check out their bsides. I think the only group that has a better discography than mamamoo is Loona and maybe dreamcatcher
If I'm not mistaken, the backup dancers are from Lachica - you NEED to watch Street Woman Fighters, a crazy good dance show with BoA as a judge who made a LOT of dancers very famous in SK. And then you need to watch Street GIRLS Fighters with students already at pro level for some!
