My fiance is from Trinidad and she introduced me to Bodi. For me, growing up in rural Virginia it was just like snap beans, or green beans. But I have fond memories of snapping beans with my grandfather and my great grandmother. Just sitting on the porch and snapping the beans as we just talked. Miss them and those times but so happy to have done it. Karen then made me cabbage and tomatoes with roti for brunch one day but she a bit more pepper in it and it was hot...LOL But i got though it and absolutely loved it,
Hey girl, must say this first. You have such a soft soothing voice! That menu was so so mouthwatering and delicious👍😋 and I love that idea of swelling the sada roti, using the wire rack👍😊I know now how to get my roti to swell now🥰💙
Always a true Trini love how u always do cook the Trini dishes an is like u back home.....well borders are opening up so u could plan ur trip back home.....yummy dishes love it. 😋😋
Hi Reshmi , all of your talkarie looks yum , your bodi and alloo, tomatoes and cabbage, and your fried plantain, also your differents types of roti looks so good, thanks for sharing your cooking vlog , stay safe and blessed .
After watching this video I went back to your older videos and I actually miss those Trinidad blogs with bat and the family. Cant wait for things to settle down so yuh could come trini and make some more fun blogs.
Hi Reshmi I really missed you everything looks delicious really in our home in Trinidad we would cook a variety of different food and choka to you and your family stay safe bye.
You just got me hungry at 8:39pm...not good for me to eat this late...So I should get up early in the morning and make this after my daily walk :)...Thank you
@tasteof trini Hi Reshmi, do you have a recipe for the baked sweet coocoo? My mum made that when i was a little girl and i am so craving that. Sadly she is not with us anymore and hardly anyone has a recipe. Thank you so much.
Everything looks so delicious! Do you have any idea what variety of cabbage that is? The ones I find here are very dense and not "sweet". They don't have all the layers like the ones back home. I'd love to make the cabbage but it they just don't cook the same. I'm wondering if I should be looking for a different type.
Thank you darling! This is the regular green cabbage. Maybe you can try the Asian supermarket near you. I get this one in my regular grocery like HEB & Kroger.
@@TasteofTrini thanks! I'm in Canada so we don't have either of those but I will check the Asian supermarkets to see what they have. I find the cabbage, bhaigan, bodi and bhaggi to be inconsistent in quality...or maybe I simply prefer those back home 😄
Aww gosh! I know exactly what you mean. It definitely has a different flavor to that sweet home flavor. For the baigan, I prefer using the Chinese eggplant. It's much sweeter and tastes better than the aubergine type.
Hey taste of trini where have you disappeared too. I am newish to your channel and all of a sudden you don’t post anymore. Hope all is well and you guys are safe and healthy. Much love and respect from Ottawa Canada!
Hey I responded earlier, where are you why no more vlogs? I went and watched everything from day1! So I am disappointed not to see anything anymore from you and Kevin. Is it Covid related? The whole world knows Texas and Florida are the worst states to be in right now. Your Governors are Idiots!! So sorry if this is the case. Just missing your vlogs and banter. Be safe

Yummy!! Everything looked so good. Can you link the wire rack, thank you🙏

True Trini any thing you make is so home filled. Sure missed you happy you're back.
Omg!!
🥰🥰🇹🇹🇹🇹
Is a vegetarian breakfast, but there is grease in it
My mom washes her cabbage before she cooks in vinegar 😒 annoying lol everything looks great
Yes I soak all veggies & fruits in a vinegar and salt solution and then wash thoroughly. It removes any bugs and/or pesticides.
@@TasteofTrini I mop the house everyday with vinegar.
I buy them by the gallons here. Just ocd about it. Just don’t want her wasting it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@TasteofTrini wanna make aloo and Roti with plantain later have some Zaboca too
Yumm! I want zaboca choka and plantain. That's a bess meal
looks deeeeelish!
