Demonstration using a one-click web-based conversion tool that makes app store files for you from a web application built using JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
Thanks, nice to see a video from you again. Just recently, I was forced to upload a .AAB file to the Google PlayStore since they no longer accept the .APK files. Just something to note.
Hi, there Great Man. I am profoundly grateful for this tutorial. You bailed me out of jail as I was stuck in the middle of a very important and crucial project. Hope to see you Apache Cordova tutorials soon. God Bless You.
Thanks for your contribution to my learning in PHP HTML JS AND CSS, your a great teacher! I donated £100 to your paypal via developphp about a year ago, but couldn't leave a thank you message. From learning PHP (Web Development) I now understand C# and can develop games
awesome video. For future videos, you can either lower the screen brightness to match the ambient light your camera is adjusted for or just do a screen record on your phone.
*Great tutorial as usual, Adam, but just to let you know, you could have done a very simple internal recording in your mobile phone using your mobile phones internal "Screen recorder" instead of an external recording. Also, do you have anything showing how to convert PHP applications to mobile? Thanks again.*
So I don’t need to build the app from scratch? I’m doing a school project and I have already built the web and I want to make the app too but I don’t know if the professor will allow this method
@Adamkhoury Does the conversion scale the web app you created in html, css, js? Or do you have to build the responsive in CSS before uploading the file to convert to mobile?
I'm not sure. I only used that tool 1 time for demo purposes. I would guess that we have to program in the scaling or visual changes when a user turns their device to different landscape/portrait viewing modes.
Really great helpful tutorial 🙌🙌 Also, do you have anything showing How to Convert a Django Website to a Mobile App?? Looking forward next videos on this topic
Man, Adam, this tutorial and your announcement got me REALLY excited. REALLY hoping you're following through with it! 😃 I remember there was a time when you could just upload your files to Phonegap with no strings attached whatsoever - didn't even have to log in or anything and would still end up with a viable APK after literally MINUTES. These days, whenever there's a tutorial that claims to "easily convert the classic HTML, CSS, Javascript stack to mobile", you can literally count the seconds until Angular, etc. are mentioned for the first time. However, in simple instances (like the one you demonstrated), I'm not interested in jumping through all these hoops - if going native requires me to rewrite half of my codebase anyway, I'll rewrite it in Kotlin / C# right away (not that I'm an expert, but really simple projects shouldn't be too hard to pull off). Why for the love of God should I or does ANYONE (for that matter) take the Angular detour in the aforementioned usecase - NEVER understood that (sorry Angular for all the tough love, you're merely serving as an example for the plethora of frameworks out there 😄) Merry Christmas everyone
I wish RUclips would give me notifications consistently, just seeing this. Sorry about late response. Apache Cordova is Phonegap's new name. I am going to follow through with converting web apps to mobile apps tutorials. I installed Cordova, set it to produce Android app from my JavaScript app and it worked. I still need to experiment some more to nail it down. Honestly, it is cumbersome and technically difficult for someone like me. Took me two days of free time to just make it operational on my Windows 10 OS, fulfilling its list of demands and dependencies. You should install it and play around, might be easier for you. I'm in agreement with you about jumping through hoops to convert web to mobile. After playing with it a bit, I prefer to just open Android Studio and code with Java. I am formulating a curriculum of sorts for 2023 that goes something like this... 1. Cordova(or similar) to convert JavaScript app to native mobile app or desktop software 2. SPA(single page application) development 3. PWA(progressive web app) development using the SPA from previous vids The latter 2 topics make a domain or URL into a mobile app of sorts that users can add to their homescreens, complete with access to mobile hardware like gyrosensors, camera flash, etc... PWAs could take some power and monopoly away from Google and Apple slowly over time if web geeks can do impressive things.
Forget PWAs. Progressive Web Apps are a typical usecase for someone who expects a WEBSITE and is then pleasantly surprised by the bonus functionality of a shortcut on their device's interface for facilitated revisits. However, that option of "installing" said website on the device may or may not be offered to the end user, depending on their browser mode, the browser itself, their device configurations etc. This leads to all kinds of unforeseen consequences when you conceive your product as an "app" - yet half of your pool of end users is still accessing your "app" as a website. If you're tasked with building an APP, a PWA simply doesn't cut it.
@@christian-schubert Nobody is saying that PWA === Native Mobile App. That's why Apache Cordova is #1 on my upcoming tutorials list. If we thought PWA === Mobile App, Cordova would not be in my curriculum. PWA has its place as a new tech currently, and if it offers nothing special as you say, it will not last and fall away, and that is fine. However I would not avoid learning it, some client may request it. Business owners will see others sites and services offering it, and might request their developer make it happen. Even if the perks or advantages are slight.
Also before anyone reading this gets the wrong idea about Cordova or similar conversion tools, nobody is saying that... Cordova === Java and Android Studio For best results, learn Java and Android Studio. Some people might not have time or mind for that though.
Well, whatever you'll come up with in the end, I'm certainly along for the ride! Still remember the golden days of a long bygone era (when Flash still was a thing) - I constantly got stuck being the absolute noob that I was, however, WHENEVER some problem would come up, you could ALWAYS revert back to some video by Adam Khoury that would simply NEVER fail you. 👍 So great to see the legend return!
I have three files separate files of html (index.html), css and java script in a single folder .....I zipped the folder and tried to upload it I am getting the error ""index.html" file is not found in the folder" what shall i do ?
I remember you from Facebook. Nice to see you again. Sure you can add oninput or onmousemove event handlers to the slider that has onchange event. Try oninput first. This way not only when the slider value changes upon mouseup do you get numbers, but while dragging also, the function should be firing off giving numbers.
@@AdamKhoury hi Adam, I am glad you still remember me. I am really glad you are back :) I was looking at youtube tutorial on how to update slide percentage on youtube. After going to all that crap, it still didn't work. Then, you just give a simple answer, change onchange to oninput or onmousemove and it update the percentage as we slide the bar. onchange="tipCalculate(this.value,'bill')", >>>>> oninput="tipCalculate(this.value,'bill')", That is all I did...:)
sounds good to me Jim. I'll cover this material first then look into making a series for that. Personally I think all software that is not part of an operating system should be web-based for maximum reach and ease of access regardless of OS.
@@NedumEze Shame on you Paul hehe. Every highest-traffic websites in the world uses PHP. Don't throw PHP out for any up-and-coming frameworks. Use both. Ajax call to a .php file on your server. Hi Adam, its 9 days already, we are waiting for your next technical video. Thanks
Currently experimenting with all of the conversion software, to see which I like best. There are 4 or 5 popular tools. Won't be much longer.

regular webhost and use the URL to generate an app.
