I have both the ultra classic 104 and the classic 101. Depends on how much space you have the 101 classic is a little bigger depth wise. The 104 ultra classic saves a bit of space either way the typing mechanism and feel are the same. I prefer my 104 ultra classic.
I've heard that New Model Ms are made with new toolings. They have apparently better barrel plate, case, etc. So build quality should be better than Unicomp Classic. If you don't care about the Windows key, I recommend you to go for the New Model M. And also there's a detailed review of New Model M on geekhack: geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106953.0
@@DS1TPT I can confirm this is accurate but only slightly. My 104 ultra classic was made in September 2020 and my 101 classic was November of 2020. The Classic has a different tone on some of the keys a more deeper original Model M sound. The 104 seems higher pitched but some say its the same and it could just be my hearing. The key caps on the 101 Classic being older tooling pop off easier and some folks may not like that so I can see where the tooling is wearing the edges are not as smooth but you only notice if you look closely.
I really want the Unicomp "Mini M", but it's all out of stock ☹
Is the lights green or blue I heard they changed the blue one
Mine has green lights
Which one would you recommend for someone who doesn't care about the Windwos key? The Unicomp Classic or the New Model M?

@@jonathanskrabacz5139 Thank you for the answer. Good to know that the typing feel is the same.
