Hitting the tow bar is such a classic. If the repairs weren't super profitable, the industry would already have a tow bar that locks out the starter when installed.
I wonder if it makes sense for flight schools with a number of aircraft to keep a spare engine on hand for such occurrences, so they can put the plane back into service sooner to keep making money for the school? Not sure if the regulations would allow for that, but I wonder if it is done.
