All of the opera in the 18thC were changed around the singers in transpositions, substitution arias and/ or stage direction. This is nothing compared to what went on.

Listen to the ‘a’ in ‘costanza’ at the end of the rec. Very creaky, and hardly an example of her in fabulous voice.

My only thought is perhaps they wanted her to have the stage by herself during the final virtuosic part of the aria.
