Just got back from our 2 week vacation at Frontier Town. I'm from Maine and we pay $9 for small and $11 for large here in Bucksport at our local lobster fisherman this year. The blue crab are just astronomical in price in Maryland and I don't know why. I don't know if it's just because people pay that or what... But I also noticed some businesses in Maryland are even starting to do snow crab clusters prices instead of weight. And we all know that every cluster is NOT the same size. Love your videos Jay and we also did some home shopping while in Berlin.
Hey Jesse! Nothing beats a Maine or Cape Cod lobster! Yeah, crab prices are high, but the population numbers aren't like lobster near you. There are also tourist traps that will charge more because people will pay (just like the snow crab clusters). Hope you had a great time in Frontier Town, it's an awesome place!
Be down in 2 wks. trying to decide whether I am going to sea born before or immediately after I unpack. 😁that's why I love watching your videos, everyone learns me something new. Thank you and your family for taking us along for the ride. gotta try driving on the beach on assateague been saying it for about 15 yrs. now and never did. See ya next video, thanks again!
Driving on the beach is a whole experience in itself...it will completely change your thoughts of going to the beach. I highly recommend trying it, you will have an absolute blast!
Looks great Jay! Do you enjoy all that with a Sinepuxent beer??? I would of, thanks to your recommendation, I stopped this year for the first time there, good stuff. I never knew the retail seafood place was over there, we always stopped at Martin’s. Thanks for the great advise concerning the scallop and lobster local guys. I wonder if they are associated to the seafood place next to Birch’s fruit and vegetables stand on 611 across from the Assateague greens golf course. They have a fresh steamed scallop offering that is awesome!! Thanks for the information Jay. BTW what’s with the paper wrap on the beef ribs, that looks interesting???
Thanks Scott! We did Big Oyster beers that night. Sinepuxent just came out with a new DIPA, I tried a sample last time and it was awesome!!! Can't wait to go back and grab some more. They also sell a bourbon BBQ sauce that is my absolute favorite! The scallop guy may be associated with them...they also sell to local food stores here. The paper on the beef ribs is pink butcher paper. It's used to wrap meat in while smoking. It helps with tenderness without overcooking them like foil sometimes does.
No it's not true. They are moving their corporate office out of Plim Plaza. This is the time of year rumors swirl, it can be hard to decipher fact from fiction.
Oh my! You should have a trigger warning for PETA in the beginning of the video. 😂. My buddy told me about this place last year. Wish I would have seen this Saturday. I was just Birch’s getting corn and tomatoes. Would have made a great birthday dinner for my wife.
Jay new subscriber here. Can you please help me out, which ( PENN) rod and Reel combo would you recommend for sure fishing for a beginner? Not most expensive just a good all-round outfit from Penn I've been doing my homework on the internet but there's so many choices, I greatly appreciate your opinion because I respect you and your expertise and surf fishing thank you very much for in advance of your answer. Ken
Hi Ken! I love Penn setups because they will last long. One major thing to do is rinse them off in freshwater when finished. Give them a good soaking. Outfit wise, I look more for the action of the rod and length. I prefer fast action rods in a 10' length. Fast action allows me to feel the small bites and also see them when the rod is in the rod holder. The 10' length allows me to cast further if needed. Everyone has their own "style" but this is just what I prefer and what works well for me. I've caught anything from tiny kingfish and spot to bigger flounder and black drum, so it's very versatile. My setup is the Penn Fierce 3 combo with an 8000 series reel. Hope this helps! www.basspro.com/shop/en/penn-fierce-iii-spinning-combo?hvarAID=shopping_googleproductextensions&ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=BPS%7CShopping%7CSmart%7CFishing%7CAboveBench%7CNAud%7CTopPerf%7CNMT&gclid=CjwKCAjwsfuYBhAZEiwA5a6CDGv6vqmhrQgVj0fJkLSUFRcDso2wpHd-qh1k_Ug0ivdtuGIxTnF5ZRoCtGQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

@@kent7525 no problem at all. Good luck!!
NO way!!! you threw out the head.... it's the best part.
I've heard some eat the head, but we don't.
How about a crab 🦀 review on several different places?
I'd go broke buying all those crabs!!!! It may be in the works for next year though.
