If only all Beatles fans could get to see this in their recommended because this is so fun
Absolutely agreed, I went into this thinking I would know all of them but I was only able to get five, and I’m a lifelong Beatles fan lol
@@philipjuras5360 same here lol
Yassh
My time has finally come! Just started getting these videos in my recs, and I'm so happy.
Getting Better's bassline could be the melody to a completely different song. The genius of McCartney
Yes!! Those first two songs I thought sounded like other Beatle songs.
Couldn’t get Getting Better 🙄
Thats the only one I missed because of that! But you are right completely genius
Yas
Glad somebody said that ….
Wish I could play this game with my dad who’s no longer here, I’m confident he would get a badass 15/15 on all of these. Miss you dad !
I’m sure he’s playing with you in heaven 😇🙏🏻Wishes to you and your family xx
If it helps, I had EXACTLY the same reaction! We lost him a year and a half ago and I have absolutely no idea how he'd do, but I'd love to find out!
@@Jim_Thomas_Draper I'm sure they're both out there somewhere playing in another dimension !!! If you thought of him while playing, my guess is he'd probably also get a badass score ! Although we can't play with them, the best and closest thing I've found is to listen to their favorite music...If you do that with enough passion and heart, I promise you'll feel like your dad is right there singing with you. Lots of love for your family!
Prayers to you 😇
Don’t think I can continue calling myself a Beatles fan after butchering all of these...still a VERY entertaining video !!!
What, all of them? Maybe you worry too much about the countdown? Take it slow and listen closely next time. Let the bass...err...bounce you, or whatever people say. 😁
Ikr 😅
Nahhh it’s ok, I have not even heard all the songs yet (yikes) !!! this video just showed me there’s still plenty badass bass to discover from Macca, aside from Something 💜🙏
@@paulinamolinari4099 Sure. "Something" is from Abbey Road, and that's a bass album, as far as I'm concerned. If you like those frequencies, I'd start there. 😉
The thumbs down came from jealous haters.
easiest was I Want You. such a badass baseline
Hey Bulldog, Paperback Writer and Taxman were super easy as well. Macca is a genius.
@@tyrannosauruszeppelin2205 for sure for sure
All you need is love?
Dear Prudence is one of if not my favorite
Love that song
It seems that earlier stuff is way harder to guess at least for me, when Macca made the bass a lead instrument his basslines are brilliant, they just stand out and accent the melody
Agreed. I got stumped by She Loves You.
@@Rickyjay23 absolutely hahaha
All my loving bassline is one of his best
Same. She Loves you totally threw me, and I only just got Please Please Me at the last second. I got Dear Prudence immediately though, with no trouble at all. Paul's bass lines from Revolver onwards are just incredible
No doubt! The older stuff had me stumped a few times.....and I'm a HUGE Beatles fan and bass player! LOL The later stuff is much more identifiable IMO because I had learned a lot of them many moons ago. Sir Paul made bass playing cool!
Really fun and VERY hard. Proves just how good McCartney is. The bass lines are so inventive and only occasionally “obvious”.
I got about 4 of these after listening to the Beatles almost constantly for 35 years!!
You beat me, I only got 2!
I got 7. Anyone who says they got “She Loves You” is a damn liar. 😂
Thank you for the video. Super fun.
No one instructed Paul what bass line to play in each song, yet he came up with such creative bass lines to accompany so many songs in a brilliant manner !
I thought Please Please Me sounded like Helter Skelter
Yeeees
Same
Same
Yeah, it’s the steady 16ths
I thought it too.
Only at the end I recognized Please please me.
As a casual Beatles fan, this is so hard.. 😭
I'm not a casual fan, I listen to them pretty much daily (in a much larger playlist with several other artists) and I got 1 right.
@@adamsgrad93 lol same only one 1 I got was 'I want you'
Thanks a lot. Listening to this, it sounds like McCartney played bass almost like a lead instrument, and not a backing instrument, like many bassists do.
Cliff Burton is typing…
The only one I didn't get was "Getting Better". So I guess I must be getting worse.
Same here, it just didn't connect for me for some reason.
Same! All the others but that one…
That was the only one I could tell. Along with All u need is love and hey bulldog
@@walrusmcwave6840 Well, you are the Walrus.
@@SpaceCattttt goo gjoob the song was the main reason for this name lol
I always admired Paul's baselines. But it's really interesting when you isolate them like this. Shows how musical he really is.
All I got was Hey Bulldog, but that should barely count as a challenge
I got three All you need is love paperback writer and drive my car
I got 5, All You Need is Love, The Ballad of John and Yoko, I Want You, Octopus's Garden, and Hey Bulldog.
Interestingly, I didn't get all the songs but always got the correct album. I guess that shows the way I've always listened to these songs.
This is fun! And just proves how brilliant Mccartney is!
Man, I'm a bass player and Beatles fan, and only got two of these. That was frustrating. I almost had three, but confused the line with another song that came right after on the album.
I never realized just how much was going on in a Beatles song. Some of these I felt so stupid for missing but EVERYONE in the Beatles is responsible for the amazing sound they created
Man, that was hard. I usually get 100% with guitars. But just with the bass is very challenging. I got just about 40% right. Thanks for posting it. Awesome job.
This was a lot of fun! A really good selection of songs, got most of them. Nice tight punchy bass tone. Paul McCartney - most talented musician ever!
6:26 Maybe, this is the most legendary Beatles's bassline... i love it
@@rizzard_6724 As well!!
Taxman is amazing too...
Love it too!!
Nah. And it’s a playoff all the spy tunes rampant in the 60s.
Boom 15/15. Then again, I did have the book with every Beatles song tabbed out growing up while I was learning to play bass. Crazy how Paul could sing over the top of these.
I know them all, paul is the reason I fell in love and started playing bass.
Same, he's the reason I chose bass over guitar.
I didn’t/wouldn’t get anything b4 revolver. Those albums are corny and don’t listen to them. I’m a guitarist but What made me love the bass was jazz. Specifically miles Davis’ bands in 50s.
Managed to get all 15, McCartney definitely writes some damn fun and melodic bass lines
I didn’t/wouldn’t get anything b4 revolver. Those albums are corny and don’t listen to them.
@@newagain9964 Your loss.
The fact that anyone can recognize these is a testament to Paul McCartney's fantastic basslines!
I managed 12 this time after only 4 or 5 last time. I got Hey Bulldog on the very first note, my favourite Beatles' song and the bass in it is really underrated
Hey Bulldog is probably the most funny song to play from the Beatles catalogue, all instruments have very funny parts and when you put them together it’s pure magic.
great playing, love this idea. my only critique is that sometimes an easier part to guess is saved for the reveal (e.g., Drive My Car) 😅
I only got 2, All You Need is Love and Hey Bulldog. But of course, as soon as I heard the bass lines in context, they were all so obvious and I kept thinking "how could I not realize that??"
100% sure You’re not a musician...but if u are, u disregard the bass.
@@newagain9964 I actually am a musician (just graduated college, majored in music) but I have a hard time picking out different elements unless I'm specifically listening for them. When I perform music, I have to listen a lot more closely than if I'm just listening to music in the background/while driving/etc
Only got 8 out of 15. As a huge Beatles fan and musician that is an EPIC FAIL!!!
Hah same here bro :-))
Thought they were all Day Tripper.
I got 0 as a huge Beatles fan. I usually struggle to hear bass anyway bc of hearing issues. The rest is the fact that I only listen to like 3 or 4 of those regularly
I have gotten two. Possibly the easiest. Taxman and Hey Bulldog.
shows that most were not really that memorable. I only got 5
The Hey Bulldog Bassline ist absolutely stunning.
3/15 again, at least I'm consistent. Misidentified "fixing a hole" twice now, eventually it's going to come up and I won't get it and that will break me just a little.
It's a testament to Paul's bass lines being essentially lead lines that even a casual Beatles fan like myself can recognize a lot of these songs.
I got 11/15. I'm shocked I got The Ballad of John and Yoko. I don't like the song but the bassline is so memorable.
I also got 11 - I missed some really easy ones
Missed two there - She Loves You & Getting Better...
No spoilers
she loves you was the hardest one!!
Me tooo
So much brilliance here when you see how much flavor and just insane layers Paul's bass adds to all their songs. Whenever I hear other music where the bass just mimics everything the rhythm guitar does, I just turn it off.
This all just proves to which point Paul was a genius! Simply amazing!
Pt 2 was even more difficult for me. I only recognised 4 of these and 7 of pt 1. I'm devastated. :D
I thought I was gonna nail all of these but I only got All You Need Is Love and Hey Bulldog... the rest all sounded so familiar and it would be right on the tip of my tongue but I couldn't quite place it. Very aggravating actually haha
I guessed them all, I don't know whether to be happy or to worry 😂 The Beatles are an obsession lol
I feel like this is using a similar part of your brain as word Jumbles, or those visual puzzles that you have to look "through" in a way to see the hidden image. I got all of them, but the trick is, except for the obvious ones, you have to rewind the video and listen to them over and over a few times. At first you will think "I have no idea", but they will eventually come to you if you've listened to their songs as much as I have over the years. I missed a couple on his first video, and the earlier Beatles stuff is usually a lot harder, since they weren't as distinct as the later bass lines, and I never listened to those songs as much as the mid to later stuff. I used to play "name that bassline" with a friend of mine years ago- we would do Beatles, The Police, Talking Heads, etc. by trying to sing the basslines from memory, which we would totally screw up I'm sure, but it was still fun. I'm glad to see someone has actually put this together with a real bass.
I guessed correctly each and every one except for Getting Better. That one is very tricky.
Macca Made some hell of bass lines when he was not the lead singer...
he also went from recording a good bassline with the rythmic parts to recording awsome baselines after everything was recorded and working on them for several days to get them perfetc
*Laughs in I Saw Her Standing There and All My Loving.*
6/15, which is what I got on Part 1 I believe. Most of these were either I knew them immediately or I was never going to get them.
I'm a bassist, in a Beatles tribute, so I managed to get all of them; far more fun to play on the upright bass I must admit!
Finally someone with credibility who claims they got them all. I believe you, but a lot of people on here are just exaggerating.
i finally got all 15
Got them all. Some of them even in 2-3 notes. Bring on Part 3 with more challenge!
Well, bully for you!
What a fun game. Also much harder than I thought it'd be. I've heard all these songs a million times, but I got just the three correct here. Also shows what a good bassist McCartney was - it's easy to miss amidst all the melodies and generally great tunage.
15/15. We demand Part 3! and keep going with these videos!
Part 3 will be a nightmare for you!
Paul McCartney is a brilliant bass player. Great job honoring him.
Thank you Marcus!!
Didn't get "Getting better", my brain was searching for one of the songs in the Abbey road melody, during the count down I began to think it was off Sgt. Pepper but I couldn't place it before time ran out.
Felt the same
LOVE!!! I remember amping up the bass as much as possible on my 90s stereo for "Dear Prudence" so that my dad had to pound on the wall to SHUT UP!
I got 9/15 on the "Easy" video, but 13/15 on this "Medium" video!
Got 14 out of 15, Dear Prudence completely slipped my mind
Thought I'd ace this, but I missed 3. And yes, Hugo, the genius - took the words right out of my mouth.
I am glad that someone is playing the songs left-hand
I love the Hofner violin bass!
Im happy to have recognized a few of these, some are really memorable. Still amazes me how Paul sang and played these lines at the same time.
McCartney was beyond incredible.
Fun quiz. I got about 3/4 right.
15/15. My pulse is composed of them!
This is more difficult than the part 1, I got 9 out 15!
The Bassline for Hey Bulldog is my faaaave, so distinctive
As a long time admirer of Paul McCartney I found the majority of these were very difficult to figure out. Thought they would be easy but not so.
I would totally watch the third part of this series!!! Cool content.
Got 11, which beat my score of 9 on part 1. (But I still had to back up and relisten to most of them before the timers hit zero.) Managed somehow to draw blanks on all three from SGT. PEPPER, plus "She Loves You." Thanks, Mr. Bassman, and I'll be looking forward to the third installment!
The thing that amazes me about Macca's bass lines is that they're eventually almost like hidden songs inside the proper song. You can say it is like this for every instrument in every damn song in the world, but try to listen to While My Guitar Gently Weeps' bass for example, there's a lot happening there and when you hear it disconected from the whole song it's like discovering something entirely different and pleasant to hear the way it is. This video proves it, every one of these lines are little worlds to be discovered. Been a Beatles fan for a long part of my short life and this kinda stuff continues to struck me as if it is the first time. Thank you so much for this vid, very nice work.
Only missed Octopus’s Garden but damn what a bassman McCartney is
The fact people can sing and play bass blows my mind.
Me, the bassist in a Beatles cover band: *this should be fun*
I got Oh! Darling, She's So Heavy, Taxman, and Hey Bulldog. More challenging than I had imagined.
Paul played the bass guitar like a lead instrument . Not sure , but I think the Beatles were one of the first to employ this technique .
I haven't listened to The Beatles in a while so I didn't get most of these. I only got All you need is love and Tax Man
im actually kinda proud of the 4 that I got (except Hey Bulldog, that was way too easy)
Got all except Please Please Me. Probably should have got that one.
haha i can't recognize that getting better bassline
Nah the early Beatles bass lines are harder to recognise.
Got everything wrong except Please Please Me lmao
What a fun and original idea! Thank you so much for doing this……very challenging.
It’s so weird because I could pretty much guess what album every single one was on. Some I got right, but others just which album.
I got 5 out of 15. I came in with so much hope ✋🏻
I was confidently cruising then suddenly whiffed 9, 10 and 11 though they were on the tip of my "ear"! But aced all the rest.
you really made the most out of the 3 seconds of song you're allowed to use ;-) great idea and playing!
I got all but two I think! All throughout the video I was saying to myself, "I wish he'd play Dear Prudence (but he probably won't) cause that's one of the most underated Beatles basslines" and lo and behold, what a nice surprise at the end! Good work :)
Quite easy for me, as a guy who started playing bass because of these basslines.
12 out of 15. Almost!!
Got all of them! HUGE beatles fan here!
Man, can't believe I missed Mr. Kite. 14/15 isn't bad though. I'll be waiting for a part 3! 😁😁😁
I was completely lost and was also like “how did I not know that?” Lol
His best bass work is on sgt peppers. Unique stuff.
Got 13/15. Unfortunately didn't recognise No. 1 and No. 9 despite having listened to them so many times. This is really fun! Thanks for this and great bass chops!
Hey Bulldog. Most underrated Beatles song.
More great performances. It's been very Beatlesy lately with 7 hours of the boys on Disney then I saw the Bootleg Beatles last Friday. These bass lines are great and harder to spot than I expected. I did get most but the ones I didn't get I went; "oh yeah, if course!"
Keep up the good work.
Again 14/15 I think Dear Prudence's bass line is the hardest to guess!
Thank u again and hope to see part 3!
I utterly sucked at this. I only got 3. But surprisingly Prudence was one of them.
I got maybe half of them. The early tunes being the hardest. I was totally lost on Please Please Me.
I was surprisingly awful at this, I think I got 4 right, nice video though mate:)
Very interesting, even more evidence McCartney is a genius in the way he writes. They are all so recognizable.
I only got Octopus’s Garden and Dear Prudence 😭 great video!
11 out of 15. Oh Darling, Please Please Me, She Loves You and Dear Prudence got me.
I recognized many of them, but the only ones I could guess were "All You Need Is Love" and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"
15/15, all before the countdown timer appeared, most of them in the first couple of seconds. Gonna need some deeper cuts!
Love that tshirt and of course the bass lines too. And I also got 15/15
The most frustrating thing about only hearing the baseline is that I recognise it instantly but the actual name of the song is always on the tip of my tongue
I got 12/15. She Loves You, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite, & Paperback Writer were the ones that stumped me.
That's benefit of mister kite will get ya. Great job!
Thank you!
Surprisingly, this was too easy for me. I got 12/15, but even the ones I got right left me surprised because I thought I’d for sure get some of these wrong. Still a lot of fun. Great vid!
Thank you!!
